While the lagoon itself is nice, it didn't quite live up to what we had envisioned. It felt more like a very upscale neighborhood pool with some fun features -- which would've been fine had we gone in with that mindset. The atmosphere was more of a party vibe -- loud, crowded, and high-energy -- which wasn't what we were personally looking for. I had hoped for a more relaxing experience, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Considering the price, I didn't feel it was worth the cost. The cabana rentals were surprisingly expensive -- even more than what we've paid at actual beaches, like in Cozumel. The highway visible in the background also took away from the overall ambiance. In the end, it just wasn't the right fit for our family. For the price, I'd prefer a beach day or a quieter pool where we can truly unwind.

The crowd was mostly families, but you could go as an adult group or even solo. Glad they have a pretty large parking lot, so no stress on that. Came here for the first time on a bright Saturday AM at about 9:50a. Place opens at 10a. Come earlier than that, because others do too, and the line moved a little slow. They have a bag check you have to pass through first. Then you get back in line and go to the window, show your ticket, and/or buy your ticket. Then get your wristband. And then walk in. So you can only bring in what they allow, boooo, check their website for what they allow and dont allow before going. But I will say, the bag check was kind of light, IYKYK. Agree that the best move is to come early to snag a lounge chair with an umbrella. Umbrellas seem to be few and far between, but if you get there early, you should be able to get one. It doesn't seem worth it to rent the expensive cabanas, even with a group. We saw some groups doing it, not sure if they actually had paid the $300 fee, or were just squatting there until they got caught. I liked that they had a bar with some beer/cocktail options, so they place is adult friendly and kid friendly, lol. They have a food menu too, since you can't bring in food. I didn't order anything, but my friend really enjoyed her burger. They also had a few food trucks as well. That day, they were actually having a Pirates and Mermaids themed day. There was a Pirate folk band playing on their mini stage for a few hours. After that, they had a good playlist jamming on the loud speaker. The actual pool of the lagoon is divided in half. One half is for people to swim. The other half is for the water equipment rentals like the kaiyaks etc. We got to enjoy some stand-up paddleboading. That was fun. The water equipment rental is for 30 min at a time. Besides the wild rowdy kids surrounding us, we had a fun experience.

This review is for Windemere Mansion which is a top wedding venue in the area... this a classic, no…read morefrills venue- you are basically paying for the view on the water. I actually had considered this as a favorite in the past but although the wedding I attended was "sweet and beautiful," I was not impressed with the lack of amenities. Maybe it was the way things were setup or a combination of things - including limited air conditioning - but I would not have chosen this venue. Also, I was told that if there is another wedding planned for the following day, then you have to "break everything down" by midnight- I can't imagine having to load and haul everything the same evening as your wedding nor place that responsibility on family members. There is literally zero clean-up crew or any kind of attendee on premises... positives: bridal dressing room is large, spectacular views of the bay, size-able dining area, separate area for dance floor Negatives: the walk-down area for the bride is short and the music was not even a minute into it and the bridesmaids had already finished and lined up and the bride was already down the walk-way. It was just too quick, not enough time for a lot of good pics (in my opinion) and she deserved a grand entrance; the kitchen had one small window for serving drinks and only enough room for one bartender- she had a very difficult time keeping up and the line flowed through the dining area and dance area. The bride had caricature drawings, palm readings, and other cool little stations setup for entertaining the guests. All-in-all, it was a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple- I'm so happy for them- they deserve pure bliss and happiness.
