If you're gonna keep people waiting in line for an hour and a half to get in, at least have the DECENCY of placing gazebos for people not to suffer under the sun because of your shitty slow ass system. 1 window to scan tickets for Hundreds of people? Where is the logic? While your team of 4 are cool inside a 10x10 room with AC on, people that PAID in ADVANCE to get in are waiting under the sun. Whats the point of buying your tickets online if you're gonna keep us waiting as much as the people who buy their tickets at the door? This shit is inhumane UPDATE: a lady collapsed and fell to the floor when they got to the ticket window.... Is too damn hot to keep this people waiting like that!!!!!

Love this place! Reasonable price, fun for the whole family, and a lot of seating areas for guest!

This place could be a great waterpark, but they are a few things that have to be addressed. I must say the staff is super friendly, and they really do try to help you. But this place is very unorganized. When we did visit, the lockers were down for the longest. One of the major issues was the food court. How do you have only one person working on a Sunday? Then the young man had to write down our order, and he couldn't even give us a receipt. A lot of the customers were complaining because of the long wait. Don't get me wrong. The food was amazing once we got it. And the price is overall reasonable. But the wait was extremely long. Then we basically had to stand up and eat. Another issue is they allow guests to put their towels down to hold chairs, so if you're not there early, and if you haven't reserved a bay, you're going to be out of luck. On a positive note, they allow you to bring in outside food, and drinks. Because of the location of this water park it wasn't overcrowded. Most of the rides took literally five minutes. Before you got on which is a plus. This water park, compared to the few I've been it's just ok. They have plenty of rides for all ages.

Got tix online and got there 15 min after they opened. Sunday. Not much of a line at all. Get your bracelets then go through bag security check (no alcohol!) then enter. Find a table with shade (plenty of that but go early). BBQ concession stand was closed. It's a very small waterpark but great for little kids. There's a wave pool toward the back by the snack concession stand --which at one point said they were backed up so couldn't take orders for 30 min. So bring your own food & drinks!! There's a sno cone truck. Not much lines anywhere. Eventually I was able to order food -- wings soggy. Burgers dry. Fries and chicken tenders good. Fried apples awesome. Prices are good though so I can't complain about that. Food came out quick. The lazy river was fun but can get pretty packed. Overall great experience. Oh life jackets run out by mid day so bring your own approved jackets or puddle jumpers. They do check at the gate if they're approved. We brought our own puddle jumpers.

My family and I visited Pirates Bay Water Park for the first time last night for the Special Pirate Celebration event. Firstly, any business that supports specials needs is already great in my book. I read reviews of the long lines, so I gave myself an extra 30 minutes to get there. It was not needed at all. Yes, the line was long, but I purchased tickets online so I didn't have to wait in line for that, and as soon as the clock struck 8pm, the line moved very quickly. We didn't wait for longer than a few minutes. My kiddos thought the wait would be long (and so did I) so they went off to the playground to kill time. Little did I know as soon as they made it, doors were opening so I had to get out of line to go get them then get at the end of the line. Even with that, I'd say it was less than two minutes of waiting. Once inside, I noticed the park was very clean. There was plenty of seating as well as tubes available. The kids opted to spend almost all of their time in the lazy river. Warning: it moves a little fast. I had trouble keeping up lol. There are regular lifeguards that are on the deck observing the kiddos, and there are guards that are actually inside the water interacting with the kids. My two boys were paired with such a sweet angel that gave them the BEST experience. Towards the end of the night, another guard joined them. The boys were on their backs racing and showing off their "tricks." The girls even took them on two of the rides (which I wouldn't have taken them as I am terrified of even the slightest thrill rides). I wish I would have gotten the girls' names as they really took care of my boys. I didn't order any food as the event was only two hours long, and we ate dinner before we left, but food was available for sale, and you also have the option of bringing your own. I brought water for everyone, but we were in the water the whole time so we didn't get to it. Next time, I'll leave it in the car so I don't have to tote anything around.

School is starting back soon, so what other way to kick off the end of the summer with the fam. First very affordable! $35 for me and my son with access to all rides!!!! I also got some good ole chili cheese fries for $3! More than I could eat alone. Second every one was so helpful, and for them to be at capacity by noon, I can say very organized. And my cooler was full of drinks, sandmiches, and chips.... Minus one star due to the nasty restroom on earth. I was going in to change clothes but I decided to just walk around and air dry! Horrendous! However we got beautiful tans and had a lovely time...

We were walking in at 11:10am, just after they opened. We set our stuff down on a table near the entrance and headed to the first set of slides. Because we were there early on a weekday, there were no lines at all. We would talk up to the top of a tower and go right down a slide. As it turned out, it was pretty much a waste of money to grab the express passes because we only needed them on one tower (two slides). And had we known that, we would have gone to this tower first and really not even needed them at all. Every other group of slides either had zero wait, or didn't have an express lane. And unfortunately, MASSIV was closed, and as far as I could tell, that would have been the best ride. We did every slide in the park in the first two hours and then hung out for a while in the lazy river, which wasn't so lazy. I really enjoyed it, especially after climbing 40-50 stories worth of stairs to do all of the slides. I don't know that we would need to come back to Schlitterbahn again when there are other closer waterparks to us, but we were happy to try another new one that we hadn't been to before. One thing I'll note: we attempted to walk around barefoot, but the concrete was absurdly hot. I am no concrete engineer, but it seems like a waterpark should do something about that. Paint the concrete? Treat it? Add more shade? I don't know, but the answer shouldn't be: leave it all natural and 100% exposed to the elements. At the very least, leave little stations at the base of rides for sandals, because you weren't allowed to take your sandals on the slides, but there was also no place to really leave them, so we just kind of dropped them at the bottom of the stairs and hoped they would be there when we came back.

We visited in early June on a weekday to avoid the crowds, and that strategy paid off. Lines were…read moremoderate during peak times but never overwhelming. The park recently changed ownership again, and it showed -- the staff was super friendly and courteous, but operations were still a bit uneven. Food service was slow, and a few areas seemed understaffed. One employee was literally running between two slides, and at another attraction with tubes, no one was stationed at the bottom to keep them circulating. Guests were holding onto tubes for repeat rides, which caused some frustration. We rented a cabana and bought fast passes. The cabana was comfortable, but with plenty of shaded picnic tables available, I'm not sure it justified the price. Same for the fast passes -- the crowds were light enough that we probably didn't need them. Next time, I would wait and gauge the crowds before buying. Bathrooms were impressively clean. Several rides were closed for maintenance, including Massiv, the park's signature attraction. Torrent River was advertised as a high‑thrill lazy river, but the wave maker was down, turning it into a very mellow float instead. Staff couldn't say whether the wave feature was being repaired or if it would return. A few areas looked worn and could use some attention, but nothing that ruined the day. Even with the hiccups, we still had a great time. There are plenty of fun rides, and we're hopeful the new operator can bring the park back to top‑tier condition.

While the lagoon itself is nice, it didn't quite live up to what we had envisioned. It felt more like a very upscale neighborhood pool with some fun features -- which would've been fine had we gone in with that mindset. The atmosphere was more of a party vibe -- loud, crowded, and high-energy -- which wasn't what we were personally looking for. I had hoped for a more relaxing experience, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Considering the price, I didn't feel it was worth the cost. The cabana rentals were surprisingly expensive -- even more than what we've paid at actual beaches, like in Cozumel. The highway visible in the background also took away from the overall ambiance. In the end, it just wasn't the right fit for our family. For the price, I'd prefer a beach day or a quieter pool where we can truly unwind.

The crowd was mostly families, but you could go as an adult group or even solo. Glad they have a pretty large parking lot, so no stress on that. Came here for the first time on a bright Saturday AM at about 9:50a. Place opens at 10a. Come earlier than that, because others do too, and the line moved a little slow. They have a bag check you have to pass through first. Then you get back in line and go to the window, show your ticket, and/or buy your ticket. Then get your wristband. And then walk in. So you can only bring in what they allow, boooo, check their website for what they allow and dont allow before going. But I will say, the bag check was kind of light, IYKYK. Agree that the best move is to come early to snag a lounge chair with an umbrella. Umbrellas seem to be few and far between, but if you get there early, you should be able to get one. It doesn't seem worth it to rent the expensive cabanas, even with a group. We saw some groups doing it, not sure if they actually had paid the $300 fee, or were just squatting there until they got caught. I liked that they had a bar with some beer/cocktail options, so they place is adult friendly and kid friendly, lol. They have a food menu too, since you can't bring in food. I didn't order anything, but my friend really enjoyed her burger. They also had a few food trucks as well. That day, they were actually having a Pirates and Mermaids themed day. There was a Pirate folk band playing on their mini stage for a few hours. After that, they had a good playlist jamming on the loud speaker. The actual pool of the lagoon is divided in half. One half is for people to swim. The other half is for the water equipment rentals like the kaiyaks etc. We got to enjoy some stand-up paddleboading. That was fun. The water equipment rental is for 30 min at a time. Besides the wild rowdy kids surrounding us, we had a fun experience.

Luckily people were finishing up and leaving by the time we were getting settled in. Good to know: You can bring an unopened/sealed water bottle or an empty reusable bottle and get it filled with ice and water inside. Free parking is available at the second entrance and the walk isn't bad at all. There are locker rentals in the bathrooms but also at 2 other locations near the pool chairs. There's only 1 family restroom, that I saw, and the stalls aren't large enough for changing clothes privately and comfortably. So come dressed and leave with an extra dry towel or swim cover lol. After going through the check in we put our things on the pool chair and got in the lazy river. After tubing around we got in line for the water slide. Then we finished up at the wave pool. All were fun and not overwhelming. There were enough pool floats to go around. And the staff were keeping the place clean. Afterwards we grabbed a personal pizza & soda from their stand which weren't too costly. They also have a BBQ restaurant available too. The only unfortunate parts was trying to eat with the yellow jacket bees around. There were so many getting on the food and drinks. And the bathroom not having private changing areas. There were amusement rides available too but we didn't have time for it. Upon leaving, the guy that's often seen on their social media posts (I don't know his position) was waving and saying goodbye to everyone. I thought that was a really nice southern hospitality gesture.
