My family and I visited Pirates Bay Water Park for the first time last night for the Special Pirate Celebration event. Firstly, any business that supports specials needs is already great in my book. I read reviews of the long lines, so I gave myself an extra 30 minutes to get there. It was not needed at all. Yes, the line was long, but I purchased tickets online so I didn't have to wait in line for that, and as soon as the clock struck 8pm, the line moved very quickly. We didn't wait for longer than a few minutes. My kiddos thought the wait would be long (and so did I) so they went off to the playground to kill time. Little did I know as soon as they made it, doors were opening so I had to get out of line to go get them then get at the end of the line. Even with that, I'd say it was less than two minutes of waiting. Once inside, I noticed the park was very clean. There was plenty of seating as well as tubes available. The kids opted to spend almost all of their time in the lazy river. Warning: it moves a little fast. I had trouble keeping up lol. There are regular lifeguards that are on the deck observing the kiddos, and there are guards that are actually inside the water interacting with the kids. My two boys were paired with such a sweet angel that gave them the BEST experience. Towards the end of the night, another guard joined them. The boys were on their backs racing and showing off their "tricks." The girls even took them on two of the rides (which I wouldn't have taken them as I am terrified of even the slightest thrill rides). I wish I would have gotten the girls' names as they really took care of my boys. I didn't order any food as the event was only two hours long, and we ate dinner before we left, but food was available for sale, and you also have the option of bringing your own. I brought water for everyone, but we were in the water the whole time so we didn't get to it. Next time, I'll leave it in the car so I don't have to tote anything around. read more

The front staff if very rude and racist. Would not offer rainy day due to the weather. States the park has been closed longer than an hr they do not honor Rainey day passes; however, the park had only been shut down for 20 minutes when it started to rain and blowing wind. Pirates Bay is a water park in Baytown that's run by Baytown Parks and Rec. My kiddo and I were invited out here so we decided to check it out. It's easy to get to and parking was not an issue. There was a line to get in but it moved somewhat quick. Admission during the week is 25 bucks and 40 on the weekend. Kinda spendy considering we have Splashtown and Schlitterbaun in the same general vicinity of Houston and a much better value. The locker room and bathrooms are small. You can grab a chair and keep your stuff there or there are options to rent cabanas or tents. Everything of course is first come first serve. You are allowed to bring one cooler per party but not outside fast food. As far as attractions, they have a lazy river, wave pool, and a handful of slides and what not. Fun was had as expected at a place like this, but I don't see myself coming back as I think it's overpriced for what is offered, unless of course it's a weekday. read more

We came on a Friday morning, and the park was pretty empty. We had no trouble getting some picnic style tables and lounge chairs for our group of 23. The staff were helpful and friendly, and everything was well maintained. Everyone from ages 1-74 had a great time. read more

We camped in the RV park and also rented 2 cabins for our grandson's 13th birthday. He absolutely loved the Waterpark and everything else. There were different activities for the kids all day long every day and most of them are free including mini-golf. They have several swimming pools. We highly recommend it. read more

This place could be a great waterpark, but they are a few things that have to be addressed. I must say the staff is super friendly, and they really do try to help you. But this place is very unorganized. When we did visit, the lockers were down for the longest. One of the major issues was the food court. How do you have only one person working on a Sunday? Then the young man had to write down our order, and he couldn't even give us a receipt. A lot of the customers were complaining because of the long wait. Don't get me wrong. The food was amazing once we got it. And the price is overall reasonable. But the wait was extremely long. Then we basically had to stand up and eat. Another issue is they allow guests to put their towels down to hold chairs, so if you're not there early, and if you haven't reserved a bay, you're going to be out of luck. On a positive note, they allow you to bring in outside food, and drinks. Because of the location of this water park it wasn't overcrowded. Most of the rides took literally five minutes. Before you got on which is a plus. This water park, compared to the few I've been it's just ok. They have plenty of rides for all ages. read more

Got tix online and got there 15 min after they opened. Sunday. Not much of a line at all. Get your bracelets then go through bag security check (no alcohol!) then enter. Find a table with shade (plenty of that but go early). BBQ concession stand was closed. It's a very small waterpark but great for little kids. There's a wave pool toward the back by the snack concession stand --which at one point said they were backed up so couldn't take orders for 30 min. So bring your own food & drinks!! There's a sno cone truck. Not much lines anywhere. Eventually I was able to order food -- wings soggy. Burgers dry. Fries and chicken tenders good. Fried apples awesome. Prices are good though so I can't complain about that. Food came out quick. The lazy river was fun but can get pretty packed. Overall great experience. Oh life jackets run out by mid day so bring your own approved jackets or puddle jumpers. They do check at the gate if they're approved. We brought our own puddle jumpers. read more

My family and I visited Pirates Bay water park maybe 3 years ago and had a blast! We got there before it opened on a Sunday and the line moved pretty quickly once opened. At the time my daughter was around 5 or 6 and my son was a toddler. There's enough to do for every age I feel. Also, it was a bonus you can bring your own cooler inside. School is starting back soon, so what other way to kick off the end of the summer with the fam. First very affordable! $35 for me and my son with access to all rides!!!! I also got some good ole chili cheese fries for $3! More than I could eat alone. Second every one was so helpful, and for them to be at capacity by noon, I can say very organized. And my cooler was full of drinks, sandmiches, and chips.... Minus one star due to the nasty restroom on earth. I was going in to change clothes but I decided to just walk around and air dry! This place is amazing love the new obstacles first thing my niece did was try to get in the water the food was amazing, the water was amazing it's was a good day experiencing the place once again 2 years ago we had came and it was the same beautiful the slides were amazing had a fun time with my niece and my family the place I mostly loved was the waves it was amazing live guards were making sure everything was clear and took out the people that did stuff that could provide an accident with other people spent most of the time at the waterpark definitely recommend coming here. read more

We got in the park after about an hour of waiting in lines, one to purchase tickets (there was also a line for online tickets so doing that is not a faster entry to the park) then waiting in a LONG line to check your cooler and bags, then line to get in the park (they check to make sure eneryone has a wrist band). Do not purchase online tickets. We were allowed to purchase online tickets in the parking lot but unable to gain access into the waterpark due to capacity limits. We were told we could use the tickets on another day but on both return trips the park was already at capacity by 10:30. There is no disclaimer on the website. The water is horrible and dirty. A kid slipped on the wave rider and PRACTICALLY DROWNED and the lifeguard sat there and did nothing. The lifeguards were unprofessional and treated us horribly, there was no lifeguards at the ride we wanted to go on. This was a spur of the moment trip to a water park close by to us from our residence. It was a fun location with quite a bit of things to do for a decent price ($25/person). The park had a few good rides there including a drop slide and a really fun double tube slide. I would recommend this place just beware of the little kids running around. This park packs a whole lot of FUN into a small area! Do not be fooled by it's size, this park will keep you and the family entertained for the entire day! The park admission is ONLY $20 and children under 2 years old are FREE! Park admission includes unlimited access to the Flowrider, the artificial surf simulator, which allows both stand up riding and bodyboarding. The park provides the boards! Although the Flowrider is my favorite attraction, there are quite a few really fun waterslides. If you know me, you know that I love slides and make it a point to ride them all. Pirates Bay has Space Bowl, a single rider slide that shoots riders through a tube, spins them around a circular bottom before plunging into a deep pool. I rode this one a bunch of times. The park also has mat racer slides, tube slides, body slides, multi-rider slides, and an entire area for the kids with slides and a dumping bucket! In addition to the slides, the park also has a wave pool, a lazy river, a deep swimming pool with a rock climbing wall at the deep end and crossing activities to challenge the kids (and adults like myself who still play on the kids toys). The price is great for the amount of attractions the park offers! The park allows outside food and drinks and shaded picnic areas. Lockers are available to rent at a small fee ($5) and food is available for purchase at the concession stand. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, one of the absolute best I have ever experienced (and, I've been to many water parks). I give the park a 5 STAR rating for service. A decent little water park at a very reasonable price. They have about three major slides, a lazy river, and wave pool. Nothing in the park was deeper than 5 feet, with the majority being 3.6 feet. You can bring in your own food and drinks. They also have a couple of concession stands with fairly friendly prices. I highly recommend their "after 4 pm" deal where admission is half off at $10. They were pretty packed the day I came (Monday), and I could imagine it being much worse on the weekends. I wish they had an official website and actual customer service over the phone. When I called to check for capacity issues my only option was to leave a voicemail. Their website is merely just a profile on the Baytown City government website. Can't complain for the price though. Lines are horrible bought tickets online to skip the line and still had to wait 2 hours in the sun. I don't understand why y'all allow people to keep buying tickets after y'all reached yalls limit capacity makes no sense than most of the water slides were shut off due to Idk what reason.
