My family and I visited Lagoonfest while on vacation, and as out-of-towners, we had high expectations based on the photos online. While the lagoon itself is nice, it didn't quite live up to what we had envisioned. It felt more like a very upscale neighborhood pool with some fun features -- which would've been fine had we gone in with that mindset. The atmosphere was more of a party vibe -- loud, crowded, and high-energy -- which wasn't what we were personally looking for. I had hoped for a more relaxing experience, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Considering the price, I didn't feel it was worth the cost. The cabana rentals were surprisingly expensive -- even more than what we've paid at actual beaches, like in Cozumel. The highway visible in the background also took away from the overall ambiance. In the end, it just wasn't the right fit for our family. For the price, I'd prefer a beach day or a quieter pool where we can truly unwind. read more

The reviews are kind of low, so I felt I would review it to add a different perspective. A water park located in a suburban neighborhood, next to a Buc-ees? Interesting! The crowd was mostly families, but you could go as an adult group or even solo. Glad they have a pretty large parking lot, so no stress on that. Came here for the first time on a bright Saturday AM at about 9:50a. Place opens at 10a. Come earlier than that, because others do too, and the line moved a little slow. They have a bag check you have to pass through first. Then you get back in line and go to the window, show your ticket, and/or buy your ticket. Then get your wristband. And then walk in. So you can only bring in what they allow, boooo, check their website for what they allow and dont allow before going. But I will say, the bag check was kind of light, IYKYK. Agree that the best move is to come early to snag a lounge chair with an umbrella. Umbrellas seem to be few and far between, but if you get there early, you should be able to get one. It doesn't seem worth it to rent the expensive cabanas, even with a group. We saw some groups doing it, not sure if they actually had paid the $300 fee, or were just squatting there until they got caught. I liked that they had a bar with some beer/cocktail options, so they place is adult friendly and kid friendly, lol. They have a food menu too, since you can't bring in food. I didn't order anything, but my friend really enjoyed her burger. They also had a few food trucks as well. That day, they were actually having a Pirates and Mermaids themed day. There was a Pirate folk band playing on their mini stage for a few hours. After that, they had a good playlist jamming on the loud speaker. The actual pool of the lagoon is divided in half. One half is for people to swim. The other half is for the water equipment rentals like the kaiyaks etc. We got to enjoy some stand-up paddleboading. That was fun. The water equipment rental is for 30 min at a time. Besides the wild rowdy kids surrounding us, we had a fun experience. read more

If you close your eyes for a moment you can forget where you are For a $325 cabana I would expect at least 2 lounge chairs and a couple appetizers or 2-4 admission tickets come with. Luckily we found the Groupon for $25pp Check in staff was super rude to one of my friends when he arrived because they didn't want to accept the screenshot of the Groupon code. It was gifted since another person in our group purchased a few from the same account. Once I let them know which manager instructed us to present as such they just let him in I doubt they even scanned it . The waiter got our drinks and concession food. Fries were great but can't say much for the drinks. Frozen beverages were already 60% liquid and tasted like juice. Not sure what alcohol was used. I got a poboy from one of the food trucks. The shrimp was great but the bread was a waste of carbs. Not taste and dry. They'd do better with a shrimp basket but maybe they can't serve fries since it'd be direct competition with the park. The beignets on the other hand were very tasty . I think it's a lot to tax for admission , cabana, and then again for every activity. The floor in the pool was lumpy and had a lot of air pockets. We've been to the place on Saturday, 5 adults & 2 babies, we've ordered a cabana on paradise beach so we can have some quiet times when the babies need to sleep. We called before to make sure that they have the same service at that area and been told that it's exactly the same, Unfortunately when we got there most of the things weren't available on that bar and everything that we wanted, we had to go to the main entrance in order to get. We've asked for a manager to come and talk with us about it but he seemed to really not care about us or the Service we get, I told him that over the phone we were told it's exactly the same Bar and yet he couldn't care less and didn't try to find any solution. It's a shame that a nice place like this that has so much potential. Has that bad of customer service. read more

So a man made pool and an overpriced tickets to get into it walk into a bar .... What could go wrong . Yes you heard me right it's a man made pool with water actives for you to do which is ridiculously expensive and yes you do have to pay for all of the water actives separately. A ticket to even get into the place is $200 per person. Plus there are cabanas which you also have to pay separately for . Also there's a restaurant here which the food is not great and very expensive crapshoot of taste and flavors . You can get drinks here because you can't bring your own cooler in which is $20 per drink per person. There are lines for everything and the crappy rude staff that will rush you when you don't want to be rushed also they don't give you alot of time to enjoy any of the activities. There are these water bikes here half of the time they don't work . My take away from Lagoonfest is that they are severely understaffed. There is no up keep of the property during the day resulting in mud build up on the shore lines and the restrooms were atrocious. The wait for food is extremely long whether it was lagoonfest concession or food truck. Personally I waited 20 mins for a piña colada in a pineapple, 15 mins for a funnel cake and 15 minutes for chicken quesadillas. That time adds up and takes away from the lagoon experience. The advertising and social media make it look like a relaxing resort style lagoon but it felt more like an amusement park. I also wish they would have more water space for people to spread out to swim, the water sports are not that active which means they could open the deeper water for more experienced swimmers. If they were to open the deeper parts in the water I would like for them to supply some simple pool noodles (since you can't bring them in) for people to hang on and float around to relax. With that said, I did enjoy the amount of chairs that were available with umbrellas, bumper cars were free with admission, cups of ice were free and lagoon water was very clear and clean. If those changes were made I would definitely return to Lagoonfest. read more

What an amazing place to have a women's triathlon today. The staff could not have been any more helpful or courteous to help this Island Girl tri at Lagoonfest be a success. The water was clear and calm and I can see why people love to visit here. There was plenty of parking and after the event we stayed for a few hours to enjoy some drinks and food while relaxing in a cabana. They have both cabanas by the man-made beach and ones available for rental by the water. I could not believe how large this place was and how clean it was. Texas can be hot and the air-conditioned bathrooms were clean and cold.That's a Win win for me after racing or even if you are just hanging out for the day to catch some rays .Nice to have a place to cool off. Their friendly and courteous staff came by multiple times to check to see if we needed anything and as we exited even offered to take pictures of us together with our phone. I will certainly come back. Maybe next time for a later day sunset enjoying some live country music as advertised on their website. read more

Great day to enjoy my favorite yup her doing her first triathlon in two years. I couldn't believe how cool this place was. A huge lagoon that is reminiscent of being on vacation on an island somewhere in the Caribbean. With Crystal clear water in there , you could easily swim without fear of what was underneath you. The staff was very helpful and asked if we could use any drinks food orAnything else needed. They had cabanas on the manmade sand beaches. They also had cabanas on the water for rental. Even though we chose not to stand up paddle or kayak it was available for additional charge. After taking plenty of pictures up till the time they open the park at at 11 AM, we stay for another hour before the crowd came. Definitely would come by again for a lazy Sunday afternoon or to listen to music as the sun goes down with a drink in hand and my feet in the sand. read more

I was excited to check out Lagoonfest after seeing serval ads/videos since last year. The lagoon is huge with plenty of space. Upon arrival our bags were checked to make sure no outside food or drinks were brought into the establishment. My friend's friend had ordered a poolside cabana which was very comfortable and relaxing. We were able to receive poolside service by texting our waitress our food/drink orders. The menu is very limited by the way. Especially for an establishment that limits outside food it a shame there wasn't much to rave about. It looks like they also have food trucks set up throughout the park sometimes, although there was only one cajun type food truck today. I ordered a high moon seltzer and nachos. The nachos ($8) were pretty bland, only came with cheese, jalapeños and small amount of chili. The other food options on the menu included fries, mozzarella sticks, wings. The cocktail prices weren't too bad though, about $12 a drink and beers/seltzers ~ $5. The resort itself is beautiful! The pool temperature is perfect, not too cold or warm. There's different activities to do as well including kayaking and water obstacle course (at an extra cost I think around $5) and mini boats too. Today (a Sunday afternoon) was a pretty calm/chill day at the resort though I'm sure it's likely more busy during prime days during the summer. I brought my young niece here and she enjoyed it. So it is decent for the littles. The teens around seemed to enjoy it. However there are several reasons I wouldn't return. 1. There are limited food options. 2. There are no showers or real bathrooms. They have a trailer for a bathroom that gets dirty quickly. It's also up some stairs no accessibility could be an issue. 3. The lining of the pool is lifting from the bottom. 4. It is way smaller...way smaller than the photos. 5. The pool is only 3ft deep in the "swimming" sections. 6. I really wanted to enjoy this place but it wasn't what I expected at all. For starters you're not allowed to bring anything but I didn't see any open bars or food places. We didn't walk all the way around but we walked left as soon as we walked in through the door. The first thing I noticed was the music. It was Banda/Norteño music almost the entire time. Not fun. They should be able to cater to a diverse crowd. It was 5 de Mayo weekend but there are more Latin genres. I even submitted my own band to the music booking contact but never heard back :( Anyway, we walked all the way down on the left-side and were told it was a "private event and we couldn't walk further". So we turned around and started walking back past the water buggys. We got into the water which mind you didn't even come to our waist. It was probably not even to our crotch level! Some guy started yelling at us that we weren't allowed to swim there because there were no lifeguards on duty. My God! Okay, so we walk a little farther but that put us closer to the music which still wasn't enjoyable. I noticed they have an R&B weekend coming up. Maybe that will be better but I'll have to think twice about coming back. I'm glad I found a Groupon for a fraction of the price. Loungers are broken and dirty. The price is steep and does not include all of the amenities. Food and drink are too steep especially because you are not allowed to bring ANYTHING in the facility except an empty water bottle. The lack of vacation and time away due to covid was making me crazy... this staycation experience made me feel as if I were on a resort in Mexico. The crystal blue water, DJ playing all the right songs, endless sun vibes and drinks was just what I needed. This place has everything from bumper boats to a blow up obstacle course, paddle boarding, kayaking... I can go on. The white sand experience and beach vibe without worrying about jelly fish, sharks, glass, oil... shit. (Sorry not sorry)... so worth the $28 entry fee. Here's the cons and the reason why I couldn't give this place a solid 5 star rating. SAVE UP BC THIS EXPERIENCE IS EXPENSIVE! You should definitely reserve chairs or a cabana or you'll be on the floor. Especially if you're staying a day in the sun a cabana will be preferable for a more comfortable experience. This is an extra cost.. Also... no waters, food etc are allowed. Each water is over $5... a drink can be anywhere between 13-15 (liquor/mixed drinks). Food is equally ridiculously priced. Just be prepared and save up ! All experiences are also an extra cost.. Altogether Lagoonfest was exactly what I needed. So much fun in the sun, but definitely made a dent in my wallet. I'm not a big fan of Galveston beaches so this was a nice, clean alternative to a "beach day". My 6 and 7 year-old girls loved it and had a blast. The obstacle course was $5 well spent and nice activity from splashing around on the shore. I didn't know the bottom of the lagoon had a plastic liner which I wasn't a fan of but maybe that's how they keep it so clean. Restrooms were also clean for the most part and still 100x better than using a port-a-potty. Drinks were reasonably priced and the food was just ok. We were the only cabana on our side and upon arrival the worker wanted us to move our cabana to the general side since "no one is there but yall". Cabana was booked for 2 weeks in advance. 2. After being at our cabana the workers proceed to use a blower almost the whole time getting sand in our area and no consideration of noise. 3. Getting shuttle ride to the Cabana. The lady said "they're waiting for a bigger party" so she couldn't give us a ride even though it wasn't in use and it would've taken 2 min to give us a ride. This place is a major vibe!!! As soon as you walk in your blown away! They have water bikes, boat rides and above water obstacle course. We opted to just float around chilling. The chairs are over sand so you get that lil beach feel the place is dope. They play music and have food trucks and a restaurant to choose from. You can also play Cornhole and checkers. We didn't eat anything but we did get drinks and we couldn't even tell the was liquor in there. Okay.... I read the reviews after we bought the tickets and I was pretty frustrated that I didn't read the reviews first ........ We truly enjoyed our cowboy burger .. it tasted amazing and it was a nice size... but they could've included fried for $14... The drink was decent; bahama mama for $12... honestly the prices are like any other restaurant, minus a few add ons... same prices you would get going to Fiesta Texas, Galveston, etc... hell even TGI Fridays prices aren't as cheap as they used to be... if you don't have extra money to spend DONT GO !! They need more shade because those little umbrellas over the chairs did NO justice, we had to stand under the shade sails at one point because the sun was beaming, but other than that I liked the chairs and umbrella, they could've been half the price though. ‍ ! I love the concept and the cleanliness... there was plenty of help and the staff was nice... now on the to the lagoon... it's pretty massive ( honestly)... it is a huge pool but isn't that what a man made lagoon really is?? There is some buckling and cracks under the water, so they may need to look into their foundation soon, but it wasn't horrible, and didn't bother us ! I had a decent time on the kayaks, we've kayaked in lakes and to be honest I enjoyed both. When you buy the ticket, you know there's not going to be any amazing views like the lakes in Austin or Conroe... I mean people it's a lagoon.... in Texas City..... Some people rated this place with a lot of frustration and I don't understand it... it's not people's job to entertain you... entertain yourself... have fun with your families/friends, enjoy the water (that's not bacteria infested), enjoy the views of the clouds, and the half ass DJ... enjoy the peace and relaxation! I decided to take my kiddos to Lagoonfest for a change of scenery. I hadn't looked at the reviews prior to purchasing the full day tickets for the three of us. Honestly, after seeing some of the reviews I became a bit nervous to go. Very low ratings. And I can see why. The place, first off, is quite expensive for what you're getting. Just for the three of us, one adult and two kids, was like 80 bucks. That's just for entry. Doesn't include the activities, which also come at a steep price. The weekend we were set to go, The Titan attraction was damaged, and I received and email stating I would receive a refund. Still waiting on that refund at the moment. The kids did enjoy Aqua obstacle course. So I guess that's a plus. You aren't allowed to bring anything into Lagoonfest. No... seriously. Nothing. No coolers. Chairs. Umbrellas. Balls/toys. Water floats. Food. Nothing. Which is very odd. What about people with food allergies? Or dietary restrictions? And all the seating comes at a price. Yes! Even after buying tickets you MUST purchase seats or you will be left to sit on the grass/sand with NO covering. In this Texas heat.... That's a deal breaker. Thankfully I was also able to purchase seating with our entry tickets. However, that's not always guaranteed. Which is crazy. How can you have limited seating when you have to PAY to enter? The drinks and food are expensive. Two drinks was like 30 bucks. I made sure to feed the kiddos before going as I had already read the reviews and knew the lines and price would be an issue. There's no lies there. The lines are long and the price is high. You've been warned! Overall.... Did I hate the experience? No. The place is nice and clean. But.... I think if I spent HALF the money it would be much more worth it. They will seriously need to make some changes if they want to see continued patronage. As it stands, it's just a huge money grab. I mean to nickel and dime people for literally everything that makes a day at the "beach" enjoyable is just a bit much. I mean down to the seating! It was our first time in Texas, yet alone Houston. Check-in to Paradise Shore was smooth and hassle free. We had a Cabana rental and the staff (Reyna & Maria) we're amazing. The service was top notch, and they always attended to us. Vince, our ferry shuttle personnel was amazing as well. We had a really great experience with Dane, our sailboat guide that took us on the water on our sailboat reservation. He was very personable, gave us information about Lagoonfest and upcoming events that we're happening. He's gonna be an awesome teacher with the Sailboat Class that he's teaching. We wish him all the luck. Sam Spector who was bartending in the general admissions area was AMAZING! We loved her. She provided amazing customer service, was very personable. She got to know us and where we we're from (NYC) while making all of our drinks. Entertaining, great multitasker and fun! There is room for improvements!!!!! Suggestions: Being that Paradise Shore is supposed to be an "exclusive" admissions than General Admission, I along with multiple guests that we're staying on Paradise Shore think that it needs a little more than just a bar, the wait attendants and amenities. I felt like most of the ambiance and entertainment was in the General Admissions area where the stage was, and they had more food options than on Paradise Shore. Food & Drinks we're overpriced... especially after we've rented a cabana that only came with 6 bottles of water and nothing else. Didn't feel "exclusive" or "VIP" at all. There needs to be more amenities, food & drink options added especially for Paradise Shore attendees. Although we did have a Cabana, we enjoyed our time in the General Admissions area more than Paradise Shore. Zero stars. This place is horrible!! Everything is still "under construction" yet it's all broken already. The liner in the pool is bubbled up all over which makes you stubb your toes. The pool is dirty. The staff is rude and unhelpful. One kid told me I had to reserve a beach chair online only. The other girl was able to reserve chairs for us on her hand held device. Although ordering from your seat is advertised, I was told I needed to order at the bar. When I ordered food I was told it would be delivered but had to ultimately pick it up at the bar because it sat there and no one delivered it. The parking lot makes no sense. This place is a scam. DO NOT GO HERE. If you think you're going to swim, you're sadly mistaken. The deepest place is 3.5 ft deep and try touching the rope in the water, a life guard will whistle at you telling you to take your hands off the rope. To start with is parking, you have to park 3 roads down and wait for a shuttle to come pick you up, after that You pay 30$ just to go in, sends once you go in you need to pay for every single activity a minimum of 15$ read more

4 stars for the huge pool, on arrival expected something more. But overall shade pavilions were set up to keep the hot sun off you . Bring your own beach chair or picnic blanket to lounge on limited seating unless you book a Cabana paid $120 . Grass could be nicer but we not home owners in subdivision so we get sun burned brown grass. Variety of food trucks prices vary among each about $10-15 a person to eat, they offer flavored ice BBQ burgers hots dogs and tex mex. And a bar for adults with club prices served in red cups. Food Trucks accept cards only, no cash. Purchased tickets to aqua course $15 online but location $25. Restrooms are portable trailers clean and air conditioning. Overall we may return it was close and inexpensive. Adults $20/Kids $15 weekday , weekend adults$25/Kids $20 note prices change often not sure why but they do. read more

I had high hopes for this place. It's a 2.85 star rating. There arent many things to do here unless you pay for the bikes, kayaks, and boats. Its not worth $41 to just wade in a few feet of water. One of the drink stands were out of a drink they had advertised and the other one margarita machine was broken. The prices for the drinks range from $3 for water up to $12 for mixed drinks. Most of the beers are $6, which is pretty good for a waterpark. We didn't get food or purchase any of the other fun amenities like the water trikes. The floor of the pool was installed very poorly; there were bubbles throughout the entire pool area. The pool isn't temperature controlled. It is first come first serve for seating unless you pay for a 4pack on a day that isn't a holiday. We stayed for about an hour. Typhoon Texas and Schlitterbahn are much better. I probably would've given 4 stars if they had a wave pool or even a lazy river. You cant bring in any coolers, food or bottles of water. Unless you have small children between the ages of 1-5, I wouldnt suggest this place; and even they were bored. A neighborhood pool or even the beach would be better. read more

My honest rating would be 3 1/2 stars but that's not possible on yelp. From my experience we booked an aqua cabana ahead of time for our group of 8. When we arrived we notified that our aqua cabana was no longer available and had to be downgraded to a regular cabana due to some of them being damaged in the rain. I'm unsure if that was true because we saw plenty of people using the aqua cabanas while we were there and was told by a waiter that they had had overbooked the cabanas that were rented out for a private event. Anyways we take the cabana but they initial tried to downgraded us without a partial refund even though the regular cabanas are at least $100 cheaper. Clearly non acceptable so we agreed to that the difference in credits to food/beverages. Another issue arose when the cabana they assigned us to was already taken by other individuals who wouldn't move because they too had pay for their cabana beforehand. We were then offered to upgraded to a rooftop cabana which was a no go for our group because it was barely shaded and away from the water. After a lot of back and forth we found an empty cabana we're we stayed put and got some more food/drinks comped along with some water activities for the inconvenience. We also noticed the rules of what you can bring are not as strict was what they make it seem online. You are allowed to re-enter. We saw plenty of people bringing speakers, pool toys and food that they stated is not allowed. Now after all the issues were settled we did have a great time despite the initial hardships. The activities were fun, and the drinks and on-site food truck were delicious. It's a great experience but I would not invest so much money to do it again because of the disorganization.
