One oto died on arriaval and the rest you can tell they are skinny and pale

I've posted the review on google but I need to cross post the review here so everyone can be aware of their fish quality and how they take care of the fish you are going to buy. I bought 6 Zebra otos on the website from them. One is dead on arrival and another one died immediately after I put them in my tank. Those otos were in horrible condition and had been starved for a very long time. They are skinny and pale compared to 4 zebra otos I have in my well-established tank. Not sure if the remaining 4 can make it. They refunded one zebra oto and didn't respond to my message after that. If you want to squander your money and buy dying fishes, they are your top choices

Orange crayfish. He lives in a 75 gallon and has a great personality!

When I went to Aqua Imports all of the employees were willing to help me out. One employee took his time to help me figure out how to raise the KH and GH of my tank water. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and I will be going back to this store. During that time I purchased 2 "Orange" rabbit snails and an Orange crayfish. Great experience with the employees.

My favorite fish store in a 40 mile radius for koi. They are always cleaning and planting beautiful tanks and have a good mix between salt water and fresh water fish! I get all my filters and koi food here and I've even considered getting into salt water with how many cool fish they keep in stock. very friendly fun and happy people to stop in and see! I wouldn't buy online as I like transporting myself but if theirs ever been an issue with a sick fish I took an interest in they wouldn't even take money down until it was healthy and ready to go and after healing and taking home those fish are thriving! They know their stuff and they're great at what they do. Love love love aqua imports!

Rosaline Shark (Denilson Barb) which has been fin nipped by Chain Loaches

After all the great initial communication I have got to say I'm very disappointed with Aqua Imports. Ordered online 4 Panda Garra, 6 Empire Gudgeon and 4 Denilson Barbs. They didn't have 4 Garra in stock (1 Garra sent) (they had my email and phone number) so instead of trying both of these they substituted the Out of Stock Garra for Chain Loaches as apparently they are similar fish. They are not similar fish for starters, Garra are algae eaters and Chain Loaches are snail eaters and potentially fin nippers. A better choice would have been an SAE or Bristlenose Pleco. problem I now have is I only have a 55 gallon quarantine tank to put these fish into (which would not have been a problem if the Panda Garra or a algae eating substitute would have arrived). Now I have Chain Loaches chasing my already stressed Rosaline Sharks (Denilson Barbs), one has even had the yellow bit nipped off its tail fin! I had to rush out to get an isolation net and make an adaption to separate the fish which is very frustrating. Other issues 1) Panda Garra sent was literally the size of my thumb nail ended up putting it in my shrimp tank. I'm sure a "Medium" sized fish is not this small. 2) Looks like one of the Denilson Barbs is either malnourished or has a possible bent spine or deformity ? 3) I find it ridiculous that Aqua Imports sent out these fish with all of these factors going on, they even had a phone number to call (not just email), they should have emailed then called? 4) Aqua Imports sent 5 instead of 6 Empire Gudgeon 5) No return contact after I made this complaint. Photos were sent proving all of this I will be making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau shortly

This store is hidden but it is a gem. I only bought a couple of landscaping items and plants for my fish tank I did not buy from them. They came out to my home and Help me set it up.

Unfortunately I trusted the advice given to me by Jacob and I purchased a flower horn blue polar parrot hybrid juvenile. When I got home and did some more research I realized how unfit my tank is for this type of fish. It has already began eating the fins off of my long fin Cory's and it is also going after the Khuli loaches. I now have to rush around and try to find a different home for this fish. Extremely disappointed. I would not recommend going here unless you know what you are looking for and you know not to take their advice cause they are only trying to sell you fish you don't need can't provide for. I feel extremely taken advantage of.

We browsed around for a bit before finding cute, affordable fish. Cherry Barbs and Bleeding Heart Tetras. I was hesitant to ask questions after being scolded by and shunned by a different store but the guy there was very helpful, informative and inclusive. I didn't feel like I was being preached to. We left with 5 fish and some bacteria stuff. 6 days later and they still seem happy and healthy. We will be going back in the future. Good selection that ranges between cheap fish and very expensive creatures, friendly staff and convenient location. Highly recommend.

It felt like everything was happening at once -- and I truly needed guidance, reassurance, and kindness in that moment. Love was absolutely amazing. Not only knowledgeable, but genuinely compassionate and patient. I never once felt rushed or dismissed -- just supported. Rumi also went above and beyond, answering my emails almost instantly and making sure I had the information I needed right away. That level of responsiveness made all the difference during a stressful situation. What could have been a total disaster turned into a reminder that there are still businesses that truly care about their customers. Their kindness, expertise, and willingness to help meant more to me than I can express. If you're looking for a fish store that treats you like family and stands by you when things go wrong, this is the place. I'm incredibly grateful. Having driven 45 minutes to the store with my water sample, which I tested against test strips, don't buy those, I was told the phosphates were too high. They don't include phosphates as a red flag unless they're going to deny you. My nitrate was too high? Nitrate is a normal part of a tank cycle. I've never qualified buying new fish based on having to do a tank change the day before purchase. And phosphate! Serious? Do you even sell that test kit? I've never seen it before. After spending $500 in one week you could do me the courtesy of saying "bring a water sample, it doesn't matter we're not giving you a thing." Notes: they are super friendly and helpful when you're buying something. Just don't expect much. They had a dead fish in one of the tanks that my son pointed out that had been there for at least a day. At least that's what the pleco was thinking. Now, find the tank. They have a 48 hour doa policy. They won't budge, trust me. Ask my seven year old who spent $35 on a butterfly pleco only to have it die within a week. $17.50 would have been enough for me, more than fair I said. Finally, even if you live in Elizabeth or Parker, and you are five minutes away from the store, drive the extra 45 minutes to Wheat Ridge and go to The Fish Den. Tell Michael Jason sent you. They have a better rating than MC Aquatics. Here are my readings according to an API freshwater master test kit ($40 at petsmart) Ph 7.4 High range pH 7.8 Ammonia 0 ppm Nitrate 0 ppm Nitrite 0 ppm See the pic below. Finally Phosphates: that's a joke. Good luck knowing that. You're welcome. Next time you tell someone nitrate is a 39, make sure that you tell them what the safe range is. And to think, you guys normally charge $6.00 for a water check. Buy your own test kit and save yourself the headache. Date of incident, June 17, 2025 Water sample from the same day.
