We are active duty military and trusted Aqua Pools to take care of our pool while stationed out of state. BIG MISTAKE. Service was cheap (by $20). Despite a revolving door or techs (one special tech was caught on security camera calling our equipment stupid and walking away) we had minor issues with their service. Minor until we started getting brown spots in the pool and my service tech told me I needed a bypass because the constant flow was causing copper spots. Tech said "definitely would be a good decision". Aqua Pools charged me $450 to install it. That didn't fix the issue. Still had spots and Aqua Pool said they can't do anything about it. Next, then the heater would not turn on/off with the control box. Aqua pool tech told me my heater was bad and he recommended it to be fixed for another $450 or so. The heater warranty crew (different company) then came out and said 1. The bypass being engaged will damage the heater and 2. The system had been put in a different mode - causing the on/off issue. Each warranty visit cost me $125. SIMILAR TO OTHER CUSTOMERS and REVIEWS ON HERE- CHECK THEM OUT. I called Aqua pool management (Vickie) and expressed my displeasure and lack of confidence in my service. I asked if they could credit me for the last $125 and try to stop this from continuing to repeat itself. She said she would get back to me. Then one week the tech is a no-show and said to contact management. When I called to see what was going on, she was short and rude, talked over me, and told me they were cancelling my service. She reminded me that I was displeased with what had happened and the solution was to part ways. She said she sent emails - three times - I guess not professional enough to call or take care of the customers or capable to work through conflict. They want to blame the customer. Same as other reviews. Should have seen the red flags. DO NOT RECOMMEND - cost me more money in the long run. read more

Very good experience which could have been great. In March 2024 I contacted Aqua Pools about installing a replacement liner. Tyler arrived to survey the pool to determine what all was needed. He promised an estimate before COB same day and I received it by email around 3:30. Boy was I shocked, but then I started looking around I hadn't realized how much pool prices have increased since 2002 when I had mine installed. Searching for a cheaper solution I found I could save a few bucks but it was with private contractors doing it as a side business. I checked out reviews on line...and it was almost a waste of time unless you read between the lines. With the reviews, there wasn't really a company anyone should choose because EVERYONE was universally mediocre to bad. So, after I recovered from the sticker shock I went with Aqua pools of Fort Walton Beach. Why? Well when I arrived in NWF in 1995 Aqua pools were here and you don't remain in business that long without being at least semi-competent. Anyway I contracted with them and placed a deposit. I was tentatively scheduled for a mid to late June start date. My pool had been down with bad liner for over 6 years and had TREES growing in it. All was removed including roots and hauled away. Then they had to install well points to siphon ground water away. In just a week's time the pool was done with all new mechanicals, filter, and Polaris cleaner. At the start of this review I stated the service could have been great...if a couple of idle members of the crew had taken a garden rake and raked out the piles of dirt left on the lawn periphery. It only took me about 15 minutes to do it myself, but I don't feel I should have had to. Overall, I am very happy with my pool and the job Tyler, Josh, Juan, Mike and Dwayne did. I'm giving Aqua a 5 star rating because they were the only pool company I could find in NW Florida who actually showed up on time and installed our new liner as promised! We went through 4 other companies and they all missed appointments for estimates or got months behind their schedule for install. Aqua on the other hand was right on time and Tyler stayed in communication and got the work done ahead of schedule. Once they started the liner and system was up in less than a week. He also came back out when the heater valve didn't work correctly and fixed it the next day. I'm glad we hired the right guys for the job and will to back to them again! read more

Dreadful pool liner replacement project by Aqua. * Communication with crew was lacking (never knew when they were coming or where we were in the installation process). * Informed after the install started that I needed a new track to secure the liner (that cost could have been determined and communicated to me when the rep came to measure the pool and price the job). The additional $600 was added to the balance I owed, but certainly could have been part of the original estimate instead of inserted as a note below the estimate. *Before the old liner could be removed, the crew discarded several large clumps of slime, leaves, branches, snails, hair, and dead bugs from the bottom of the pool onto my lawn (despite there being 2 buckets and 1 trash can within 5 feet available to place the crud into). My dogs rolled in it, which was disgusting and didn't have to happen at all. They both required heavy duty baths. * Crew used my hose and wrapped it around a sprinkler head, which snapped off after being pulled too tightly against the house. (Water gushed out, causing a muddy mess, in the middle of the night while my sprinklers ran). * I found several sharp rocks and bumpy areas of sand under the liner in the shallow end of the pool. The crease in the liner is not aligned with the angles of the pool floor, and more sharp rocks exist on the sides of the pool in the deep end. (Supervisor pressed the sharp rocks back down in the shallow end). * I noticed my water level had been decreasing more than usual. When I went to my hose/spigot (close to the pool pump) to add water to the pool, I saw gushing water coming from a pipe in the pump. I sent the supervisor a short video and asked him to check things out to determine the problem. He came while I was not home and did repairs to the pipes. A couple of weeks later, I received a bill in the mail for $315 for the repairs needed to stop the leak. The supervisor had not contacted me to let me know what the problem was, how he planned to fix it, or how much it would cost. I would not have authorized the work if I was expected to pay for it. (I asked him to come check it out since the gushing had not started until after the pool liner replacement project). * I discovered that my pool pump had been running 24 hrs/day for many many days without my knowledge. Somewhere between the start of the replacement work and the day I discovered the non-stop running pump, the only people in the pump area were part of the crew. The on and off screws on the pump timer had been removed, and I could not find them near/around the pump area. I asked the supervisor about the timer trigger screws, and he found them while at a subsequent visit. Someone had removed them and set them on top of the plastic casing around the timer. (I am only 5 feet tall and did not see them on top of the timer housing). Instead of placing the on and off trigger screws back onto the timer, the supervisor texted me and told me they were on top of the plastic timer case. (Would it have taken more than a few minutes to reattach the screws vs simply telling me where they were?). No one else but the crew went near the pump during the liner replacement process. (The on/off trigger screws to the pump timer have been reset to turn on and off at various times, but they have not been removed in 16 years). * I notified management via fax of all the problems and let them know I had not authorized the work on the pipes. I should not have to pay to repair a problem without a diagnosis, a cause, or a discussion of the costs. I have a series of text messages between myself and the supervisor detailing our communication about the leak in the pump pipes. I have contacted management about the unauthorized work/bill and was told, "The bill stands. We will place a lien on your property until the bill is paid." I told Michele that placing a lien on my property did not mean I was responsible for the bill; I can file a notice of contest of the lien. (I will request a court date to discuss the issues with a judge). The threat of a $315 lien will not deter me from talking about my experience. Avoid this shameful behavior of Aqua Pools by finding another business for your pool repair or installation needs. The cost of using Aqua is too high, and the risk of dissatisfaction is too great. We had a lot of pool companies give us a quote to refurbish our outdated pool. We went with this company because the price was right and we were impressed with Ronnie Grice and his son. The crew that came were so professional and quickly went to work. From start to finish was a little over a week and I cannot begin to tell you that we have the best pool we could have ever wanted. Very disappointed. After telling the lady I would like to get my sand replaced in my pool filter, she stated it would be a couple of days and they'd call me a few days out. After 2 weeks, another lady told me they could not tell me when a serviceman could come out and that he would call me when he was 30 minutes out. She told me she did not know who I talked to, but they were wrong. Two weeks later, a serviceman shows up at my door and I am not home (my cameras confirmed) unannounced. I called the store again and the lady was very rude and said no note was left for her about the Zeosand and now it would cost me $900! Evidently, instead of the Zeosand I ordered, he had regular sand on his truck. I will say their communication is very poor within their business, the one lady is rude and their prices are quite unreasonable...since it was a $300 job everywhere else. Aqua pool and patio saves my vacation with my four grandchildren!!!! I went to Aqua Pool and patio in Fort Walton Beach to get a new capacitor for my Hayward super pump motor. Hayward had listed them as one of the repair and parts stores. I walked in and was greeted by some of the nicest people I've ever met. They were also very helpful Jessica Kim Brett and Eric. Even though it was my first time in the store they made me feel like I've been a customer for many years. Eric the repair person even came up from the back and showed me how to install the capacitor correctly. I went home and I got the capacitor on but the motor still wasn't working I thought I could fix it myself so I took it all apart watching YouTube videos. Then I couldn't get it back together now granted the motor was old and I probably should've gotten a whole new motor to begin with. Turns out I broke off the long four bolts that hold the motor together. Eric gave me an A for effort. He put a new motor back on my pump and even refunded me for the capacitor I didn't need for less than I could've bought one on Amazon!! I installed it back on my pump but I still wasn't getting pressure. I called back up to Aqua pool and patio and they sent out a service tech named Curtis. In three minutes Curtis found I had an air leak and fixed it. No charge. My pump is now working beautifully I am so thrilled. I really want to thank Aqua pool and patio for their wonderful associates and for helping me. HORRENDOUS. They deserve zero stars. Absolutely horrid "customer service". Tech doesn't always show up. Pool is not cleaned. The service is supposed to include scrubbing- no being done. The water is not balanced and evaporates very quickly. The chlorine is either sky high or almost non-existent. The Dolphin isn't working, and have asked for weeks for it to be fixed-still not done.
