The amount of money I have spent in this store over the years! No solutions, just attitude. Highly unprofessional! These people are rude, completely incompetent and should not be in the pool business. I've been having issues with nitrates in my pool. After following their instructions and draining one third of the water, we still have high levels of nitrate. As a professional pool store they should know other options or suggestions as to why this could be happening. The old man is a complete jerk. When I ask him what other suggestions does he have and he tells me do you ask a doctor why are your cholesterol is high ? Actually, yes, a doctor should know why my cholesterol is high! And as a professional pool store you should have solutions as well. We've lived in the area for 30 years and have been using Aqua Pool for a very long time. In the last couple of years, the owner's daughter, who is usually at the counter, has been treating me with an attitude and it seems to get worse every time I visit the store to buy supplies and test my water. I waited my turn and I asked the Manager when would be a good time to come back as I needed advice on how to run the filter that he had sold to me. Complete rip off. Said I needed a new filter and pump, but it was just a single torn filter membrane and missing o-ring. Parts cost less than $50 - the quoted over $2000. Next year the said pump did not work, and again over $2000 for replacement. Took a look and circuit breaker was not on. Pump worked perfectly. Aqua Pool are ripoff artists. read more

I've been using Aqua Pool Service for over 25 years. Recently, purchased a new pool cover (same manufacturing with same dimensions) as originally installed from a competitor for $2K less than Aqua Pool. I had already signed my agreement for opening and closing service with Aqual Pool. When they arrived to close the pool, they charged me an additional $200 because the cover was not purchased by Aqua Pool and they said they had to adjust the straps. I would expect that adjustment of straps is part of the service. Meanwhile, the crew did a poor job and missed installing the plastic coverings to 12 of the straps. read more

Let me start by saying, I usually don't let things bother me too much. But after my experience at this place today I felt compelled to vent about it. My wife usually goes there for supplies so this was my first time walking into the place. I'll describe the people I dealt with, W/F 30 to 40 years and an Older W/M at the register. Me: Hi I'm looking for something for algae in my pool. W/F: (Not sure she even said hello) is your water balanced? Me: Yes W/F: (Now staring at me like I have two heads) you need Severest, then points to the shelves 8 feet behind me. I turn, walk back to a shelf that has dozens of bottles of different chemicals, since I've never been in the store and have no idea what I'm looking for other than her saying the word Severest. I start scanning the bottles, expecting her to actually walk 8 feet and show me where it was, I guess that was too much to expect on my part. Now I'm having a problem locating it and the older gentleman says something to the effect that there are a lot of things on that shelf, she then responds to his statement by saying, "All he has to do is read". Now my mind is completely off what I'm looking for because of her condescending retort to the older gentleman. What is she here for? Because it's definitely not her charming personality. I should've just left, instead I festered all the way home which compelled me to sign up and leave a review after I read another review, I'm going to assume it's the same girl. I called Aqua to come look at my pool plaster and give me an estimate to fix my pool because it had discoloration on the plaster and calcium build up, they came out and said it has calcium buildup and discoloration and needs polishing. The service guy said they would send me a quote, got a bill for the service call for about $150, which I paid, called a couple weeks later for status of the quote and they said they dont do polishing. I asked why they came out if I told them what was wrong and they couldn't give me a good explanation but still charged me for the service call to tell me what I told them. read more

I bought a robotic pool cleaner from Aqua Pool. When I needed basic service, changing a belt broke in the drive track, I called to see if they could help. I even purchased the replacement belts on my own and just needed help realigning the tracks. I spoke with Jim who hung up on me after telling me very rudely that he doesn't service these robots anymore even though I bought it from them for $1,000 a few years ago. Buyer beware!! If I could leave zero stars for this company, I would. Not only are they a rip off, but their customer service is rude and unprofessional. We had our heater repaired by them, they charged us $900, didn't let us know that the heater most likely needed to be replaced because of its age, and then the same problem persisted. After several complaints, the owner Jim said that he would personally come by to check it out this season. He did not, was extremely rude, embarrassed my wife and then kicked her out of the store. Have been a customer for approx. 20 years. Recently purchased all new hoses for our pool. Hoses have a 39 month guarantee as pointed out by the sales associate. Also listed on packages. First hose broke at 6 weeks draining pool to bottom of skimmer while pump was running. Second hose broke in 51 weeks. When I went back to Aqua with receipts I was told I would have to contact manufacturer myself. I have been disconnected by manufacturer 3 times. When emailed you get no response. Was supposed to be called back by Aqua pools which never happened. Horrible customer service . Would not recommend them to service my kiddie pool. read more

I have been using Aqua Pool for the last 10 years. I had a very problematic above ground pool and then moved and now have an extremely old, huge inground pool which was in a deplorable state. Aqua Pool fixed the light in my above ground which was very difficult, They also arranged for the renovation of our inground pool, they fixed and replaced old equipment and helped and continue to help with our pool chemistry. We wouldn't ever go to anyone else and I see what other people have written but I must say that anytime I am in either their Richboro or Feasterville stores - they are crowded - and everyone is treated with respect and the staff is extremely friendly and competent. read more

This outfit provides pool service and also has a retail store for supplies and chemicals. The owner is one obnoxious soul yet because they are close to home I go there for odds and ends. Recently had a hardware problem and went there with the intention of buying the part and hopefully getting some advice. Keep in mind that on a scale of 1-10 re: fixing most anything I'm in the high 9's. Anyway I stopped in, the place wasn't that busy, I got the owners attention and he described in a few words what I should do for the fix. It didn't make sense so I asked him to run that by one more time. Still didn't make sense so I tried to provide a few more details when he blurted out "I don't have time for this, go hire a plumber." First let me start by stating that I am not a big review guy, however the practices at Aqua Pool in Richboro, PA must be addressed. I have owned and operated a pool for multiple years and was in need for some servicing to this my pool. I decide to reach out to Aqua Pool, we agreed to have them service the pool and repair multiple parts with new equipment. They then decided to put used, damaged, worn parts into my pool almost causing a complete failure. When I reached out to them they were extremely rude and non helpful. They insisted it was my problem and they wanted nothing to do with repairing the bad parts thy installed. With my pool out of service and these parts causing further damage, my wife and I decided to hire a different pool company to come fix the mistakes that Aqua Pool did to my pool. The business practices and lack of professionalism at this company is questionable and concerning. I would never recommend using this company with such an expensive item for your home. A long with workmanship concerns, there are multiple safety concerns I have with this company and my families wellbeing in our pool. I recommended using Leslie Pools or WW Adock Inc. in Huntingdon Valley, both companies more competent, better employees with better knowledge, materials, and skills. read more
