I think she should keep her mind and her business into the SWIM school and not my daughters business. From the looks of it she intimidates her employees and makes her girls cry. My lessons have turned swimming into something I think I could love and have inspired me to conquer other fears. Sydney has been great and she has been understanding of my fear. I literally cried after one of the lessons because learning to float on my stomach was something I had never imagined I would be able to do (without almost having a panic attack). I'm excited about my new skills. I'm happy that I can finally enjoy the beach outside of just soaking the sun and taking selfies; I want to swim and snorkel and do all of these activities I had been afraid of. I'd like to thank to my instructor, Sydney, and the SwimBox team for helping me build comfort and confidence in the water while making it fun. While most local swim schools focus primarily on children learners, SwimBox caters to all adults at every skill level. The sessions are one-on-one, giving self-conscious adult learners privacy and allowing the instructor to focus on the learner. And as opposed to the 30 minute lessons that many swim schools offer, SwimBox sessions are 45 minutes, giving the instructor plenty of time to introduce a lesson and work with the learner to sharpen newly acquired skills. Working with Sydney and the SwimBox team has been a great experience and has opened up an entirely new world for me to explore.

The teachers were consistent, and the front desk staff was so kind, always greeting our daughter by name and letting us know which lane she'd be in that day. We loved the "splash and tell" sessions, where the instructor updated us on her progress, what she needed to work on, and whether she was ready for the next level. We could even track her progress in the mobile app, and she earned ribbons when she graduated a level. The scheduling flexibility has also been great; the makeup tokens make it easy to reschedule when life gets in the way, and that part hasn't changed. Unfortunately, much of the rest stopped around February 14th. We no longer get instructor check-ins or app updates, so it's hard to know where she stands. She hasn't moved up a level in a while, and with the newer instructors, lessons feel more like playtime in the pool. Our daughter loves that part, which is great--but we were also paying for measurable progress, and that piece faded. We also loved the community events, like the holiday gatherings and last year's pumpkin-in-the-pool party, a wonderful way to meet other families and feel part of something. We hope those touches come back. Honestly, this school is great depending on what you're looking for. It's the place for water safety and learning to swim -- your little one will come away genuinely comfortable and capable in the water, just not at a competitive or advanced level. If your goal is an intro to swim or just something fun for them to do in the water, then this is absolutely it. If you're after structured, measurable progress toward the next level, that's the piece that's slipped lately. Either way, we wish them the best.

Unfortunately, since the management change, this place has gone completely downhill. Instructor turnover, canceled classes, constant schedule changes, and a lack of consistency became the norm. The final straw was a safety concern. During a lesson with a substitute instructor, our son was underwater longer than we were comfortable with on multiple occasions and came up coughing after swallowing water. Thankfully, he was okay, but watching that happen was enough for us to decide we were done. What made an already bad situation worse was how management handled our cancellation. A manager specifically agreed to waive the notice period because we were leaving over a safety concern. That decision was later reversed by someone higher up, and we were charged again anyway. I then had to waste my time calling repeatedly, explaining the same situation to different people, and getting the runaround. At that point, it wasn't even about the money. It was about the complete lack of accountability, communication, and competent leadership. It's unfortunate because this used to be a place we genuinely liked. Based on what we've experienced since the management transition, I would absolutely not recommend this swim school in its current state.

They are always training and promoting and hiring responsible, encouraging and caring instructors. We always know exactly what our son is working on and can easily track it in the app. Our son is neurodiverse and can need a lot of patience and Eddie specifically has been one of the best instructors we've ever found. We are so impressed with his willingness to work with every swimmer and feel lucky that we found him. He has been the perfect match for our son and his needs!

Jessica, in particular, has been rude and dismissive, providing misleading information instead of real solutions. Long-term staff are leaving at an alarming rate, which raises serious concerns about the new management. The staff is now mostly new and inexperienced. My children went from structured, effective lessons to watching instructors who don't seem to know what they're doing. At this point, I could teach the lesson myself just from observing. After over a year here, it's sad and concerning to see what was once a trusted, high-quality program turn into a poorly managed operation. Parents should be aware before enrolling.

Overall, we've had a positive experience and are grateful for the role Big Blue played in helping our kids become comfortable and confident in the water. One of the biggest advantages is the convenience. The lessons are structured efficiently, making it easy to get in and out without a huge time commitment. The app was also convenient with scheduling, rescheduling, and booking makeup classes. The instructors deserve a lot of credit. They consistently showed incredible patience, even with very young children and varying skill levels. We also had positive interactions with Brenden, the general manager, who was always friendly, helpful, and professional. The main reason for the 4-star rating instead of 5 is the class size ratio. After the baby classes, our experience was typically a 1:3 instructor-to-student ratio. We found our kids learned best when there were only two students in the class. With 3 children, lessons could sometimes feel crowded, and occasionally a disruptive child would impact the amount of instruction and practice time each swimmer received. That said, Big Blue provided a strong foundation for our children, and we're thankful for the experience. Our kids are now moving on to private lessons, but Big Blue helped them develop the comfort and confidence in the water needed to take that next step.
