Bear with me, unfortunately the review deserves more than a couple of lines. It started over 10 years ago. They pull you in with low advertised pricing. I ended up spending much more which was absolutely not a problem because I wanted something nice. However, I found myself playing project manager throughout the sales and installation process. Lack of details in the quote, missed work dates, excuses, and a lack of oversight as to work quality. I should have known better. The outside electrical panel was installed on a piece of plywood. Not even sure this is legal according to code. I had to tell them this was not acceptable. Over the years I've used them for various work; replace a pump, replace a heater, new vinyl liner, and do the annual winterization. In the past 12 years they had me lower the water below the skimmer. This year they said lower it below the inlets. I'm not a pool technician so I assumed they meant the skimmer. When the tech shows up they call and tell me he cannot complete the work because the water is not below the inlets and for $45 they could pump out more water. Crap. Really? She also said the procedure was brand new because they have a new technician. I said it would have been really nice had they made it very clear that this is a change to their procedure (one that they had me doing for over a decade). The scheduler said "sorry, there's nothing she can do to remove the fee." What the customer hears is: "sorry, we don't care that you've spent tens of thousands with us and who cares about the past 13 years you've had us winterize your pool. It is not our problem that you don't understand what an inlet is and no, I shouldn't have to explain this to the customer." I said to her that this didn't feel good as a customer and while they may get their $45 out of me it will be the last money I spend with them. They came back begrudgingly and said they'd waive the fee but next year they will charge me $45. Ouch, I think they just called me stupid. Back to this year's winterization - the tech also said he could not remove the ladder in order to put on the pool cover. I went home early that eve to try to remove it myself. Took a little back and forth motion but I got it out within 5 minutes. Now, my pool is half winterized and leaves are blowing into the pool. She also said they can't make it back out to my place for another 4 days. Lovely. More leaves in pool that will rot over the winter. Sheesh. I'm kicking myself. No worries Aquafun I will take care of it. Aquafun has been around for quite some time. Nice enough people. Heck, I know the folks by name. All is well when it goes well but just understand that if there needs to be a judgment call it will be in their favor. And watch their work quality. If you've read this review thus far, thank you. I'm going to fall on my sword and admit that the writing was on the wall from the get-go. Shame on me for continuing to invest in this company. read more
