This is a smaller LFS that focuses on saltwater/reef tanks. They have quite a few frag tanks with various softies, LPS, and SPS corals that all seem healthy and fairly priced. The staff has always been super patient and helpful when I have questions or when I just want to browse. They've been nice about letting me be particular when choosing specific fish/inverts/corals. They're also very knowledgeable and helpful, especially as I'm still new to this side of the hobby. It seems like Oceanlife is a staple among reef keepers in the area and they've definitely built relationships with folks. People get greeted by first name and seem to be able to special order things as well. All around, it seems like what you look for in a LFS!

Even with the new adjusted hours I unknowingly came in a minute before closing and to my surprise, Nick still took the time to patiently test my water thoroughly and refused to sell me any fish or corals because my water still wasn't ready. Fast forward a couple weeks later and my water is finally ready and they will be seeing a lot of me! What attracted me to this place is that the store is super clean and the prices are generally better than any other marine-life store in the Houston area. The staff is always super friendly, professional and knowledgeable which I am so thankful for as an aquarium novice such as myself. If you're looking for anything saltwater tank related- ocean life should be one of your top choices!!

Mr. Wright gave me an estimate over the phone that I thought was much higher than normal almost $600 for just cleaning when I asked him about the charges. He became very upset and stated if you don't like the price you can call somebody else. Normally, I would hang up the phone and call somebody else but because I was extremely busy and my wife was out of town I made the appointment The middle aged lady who came out to clean the first tank, was very soft spoken, had a lot of knowledge of fish and water, I had made a comment about how the owner spoke to me, and she had stated that this was not the first complaint and that the owner is extremely arrogant who walks around with a chip on his shoulder". But he writes her checks so she just looks the other way." How very sad to live in a world like that, I thought it was important to share with you people who the owner really is She did a great job, but I will not be calling this company again.

His shop has a variety of corals, fish, and some inverts along with lots of equipment available as well. One time he also found something after I called and he followed up to let me know he found it and saved it for me. It is a smaller shop and may have more of an eclectic variety of livestock but they seem to carry quite a bit of equipment. I do wish it were closer so I could just make an easy trip to check things out but it may be good that its further for me as I can't always buy new things.

Great, but was it because I spent allot of money? I hired Kayci to care for our dogs and fish while my husband and I were out of town for a week…read more I wish I never had. In preparation for our upcoming trip -I met with Kayci three times. The first time with Kayci and her wife, the second at the dog park so she could observe the routine, and again before we left where I reviewed the dogs and fish' feeding and care instructions. Our pups are on a schedule to be walked and fed every morning before 9:00 AM. Kayci assured us this would not be a problem. She also assured us that there would be no issues and she had everything under control. I had offered to more than double her normal fee (1000.00 for the 6 days) - hoping that it would be an incentive for her to keep everything in control. What was supposed to be a relaxing vacation, turned out to be the pet sitter from hell. During out 6 day trip - Kayci sent no less than 75 text messages. Minimally 39 of them were erroneous, inappropriate or argumentative. I have included several in this review. We had barely begun our vacation, when we received a text from Kayci, "I hate to bother yall but I was wondering if I could possibly borrow and then wash a pair of some shorts". Later she would text, "Seems like the boys poop is a little runny these past few days" - and she wanted to change their diets. Although I didn't think changing their diets while I was out of town was necessary or a good idea - Kayci was having none of it. Rather than tell me in any of our previous face to face meetings, Kayci decided this was a good time to tell me that I don't know how to feed my dogs and I am feeding them wrong - (I have raised dogs longer than Kayci has been alive) She then wouldn't tell me what time she was walking them unless I stopped my vacation and called her. Which I did. I tried to give her the instructions from the vet - and ask her what time she was taking them out in the morning - (If the dogs go too long without a walk they end up with soft stools) At this point, my husband was clearly upset and was ready to kaibash our vacation and head home. Our stress levels were insane. After hours of Kayci's BS - she finally texted, "The dogs do not have diarrhea, just soft stool . . . .My wife specializes in nutrition for pets" She wanted to sell us her nutrition services. All this drama for a sales pitch - All I could respond was, "Lets talk about it when we get home". The last thing I wanted to do was see Kayci get any further unhinged. I had made calls after Kayci wanted to wear my clothes to another dogsitter and hired one -to keep an eye on Kayci and Clearwater Aquatics/Pawsitive Pets. It was the only way to salvage our vacation. On Saturday, I asked her if she would please walk the dogs early the next morning. I was hoping she could keep them on their schedule. I was told by Kayci, "Unfortunately not. I have a dr appointment." I thought it was strange she would have a Doctors appointment on Sunday morning at 7:30 - especially since she had taken the job to sit our dogs and fish several months prior - I asked if she could either reschedule, or come before her appointment. To which I was told, "No mam, that's not how this is goin to go" I could go on for pages, but I invite you to read the text messages - We were guaranteed a professional and stress free experience with Kayci and her wife and their companies, Clearwater Aquatics and Pawsitive Pets - It was as if Kayci intentionally sabotaged our vacation -- When we returned home, Kayci called the following morning. She requested that we pay her the remaining balance BEFORE she would return our house key - I told her to keep it - Were were changing locks after this experience. Then her wife called - she wanted to continue on the line that she and Kayci knew better than I did how to care for my dogs. I explained I have raised dogs/fish longer than she has been alive - She was adamant that she knew more than both myself and my vet - I probably wasn't very nice to her when I explained why they were not getting the second payment. Bottom line -AVOID THESE TWO DRAMA QUEENS. It is not worth the stress and angst they cause - They don't adhere to agreements they are unreliable dishonest and unprofessional - I regret ever trusting these with my animals. Don't make the same mistake. UPDATE!!!!! I stopped into the fish store where I had the misfortune of meeting Kayci -- Check this out! https://www.facebook.com/share/v/9roKUFozFuG7hzya/?mibextid=jmPrMh

I've been bringing my dogs here for years first my late dog, and now my current miniature schnauzer. If you look back at my previous review photos, you'll see the PERFECT schnauzer cut they used to do. Consistent. Professional. Distinguished little gentleman energy. Recently though, scheduling became nearly impossible. Every conversation sounded like: "Let me confirm if our groomer is actually working that day..." After weeks of trying to coordinate schedules, my schnauzer's hair got longer than ever. He loves wearing shirts, so yes, he had some matting. I paid extra for de-matting and gave very clear instructions: shave the skirt, but keep a full beard along with his chest and paws fluffy. Y'all... when I picked him up, I genuinely did not recognize my own dog. He walked in looking like a miniature schnauzer and walked out looking like a scrappy chihuahua named Peanut. They shaved EVERYTHING. His entire body, his face, even his whiskers. HIS WHISKERS. WTF. I know hair grows back and thankfully it's summer, but I honestly felt bad for him. As someone with longer hair myself, if somebody sat me down and buzzed me to the skin without warning, I'd probably need emotional support and a hoodie for a month. My dog still seems happy and unbothered, but I'm traumatized enough for both of us. After years of loyalty, this was incredibly disappointing and totally unacceptable. We will never come back..
