It's been almost a year now, and we are beyond proud of the progress of our boys. We went to 2 previous places prior to coming here and this place is the only place where we have seen major improvements. Prices are reasonable and communication is easy with email and text notifications. Our oldest son is on the spectrum (ASD) and Coach Jason and Coach Nicole have been instrumental to his progress. They are both patient, kind, understanding and will work with the temperament and comfortability of your child. Coach Jason is wonderful at giving clear direct instructions. He has been an instructor for years and is genuinely knowledgeable about what needs improvement. He is also good at challenging our boys and pushes them to do their best. We love the feedback after each session. We are definitely going to continue coming here and hope one day we can do the surf lessons. Our boys are now able to do basic water safety skills, float, flip, rotate, put their head in the water, and swim! Thank you Aquatic Explorations!

Coach Nicole even helps us get that adorable swim cap to cover our daughter's head of curls (our daughter's request, not the school's)

Such an amazing swim school!! Our kids used to go to the YMCA for over a year and never actually learned to swim. We moved and our neighbors recommended Aquatic Explorations - and we are so glad they did! Our kids (3 and 5) built up confidence so quickly and started swimming so soon. They love their instructors- Coach G is AMAZING at teaching and also with keeping timid kiddos like my son confident and engaged. Coach Nicole is wonderful and my daughter just adores learning from her. It's such a wonderful swim school. The school also has a token system. Kids get a couple of tokens after lessons and can save up for prizes. My kids always love to save and plan which prizes they'd like to earn over time. Great lessons all around and we're very happy with the team at Aquatic Explorations.

We love Coach Amy, she's so patient, understanding and she knows exactly how to motivate my son. He's made so much progress and has overcome his fear of drowning. We didn't have any problems in scheduling make up lessons and we love that they are now accepting automatic payments.

Large kites above the pool give the kiddos something to focus on while on their backs.

We have a small child, and after hearing all the horror stories of kids falling into pools and almost drowning, I was anxious to get our little fella some lessons. After reading positive reviews for both Aquatic Explorations and Water Safe, I decided to do the free trial swim lesson with AE. Our son enjoyed it and the teachers all seemed good with the kiddos. AE is also a tad less expensive and closer to us, so we decided to start our son here with 1-on-1 lessons. We started this past July and I'm impressed with his instructor, Miss. Cat along with the other teachers observed. Lessons aren't cheap as the ones we signed up for are just our son with one instructor. It is $22 per 15 min lesson. I know, at first I was like "what?! $22 for only 15 mins?!?" But 15 mins is perfect for young ones who can't focus for longer periods of time. And IMO, I'd rather pay more to get him quickly trained and able to save himself should he accidentally fall into a pool with no one near to rescue him. The facility isn't what I was used to for swim lessons. The location is actually inside an industrial complex with the pool built into the second floor of their unit. But it's heated all year round, and a decent size for teaching the young ones. They also have large colorful kites hanging above that helped my son look up when he was floating on his back. There's also a single shower that you can wash off in after your lesson which I really appreciate- saves me time at home and keeps a chlorine soaked kid out of the car! After each lesson the teacher will tell the child how many gold coins s/he earned depending on how well they did that day. The kiddos can then get one prize from the treasure chest, or choose to save them up to earn a bigger prize- great way to motivate my kid. I'd recommend AE to other parents of small children. Great place to get them on their way to becoming competent swimmers!

It is a busy location and before we were able to book with Jeremiah consistently, there was a problem of availability and instructors showing up. My daughter first had Lola who was so sweet and patient because my daughter is a handful and full of energy and it can be hard for her to pay attention (that's why I got private lessons). And then she had Julia which I saw an improvement in her and she also had Emily both great instructors, I saw so much improvement and they got her to listen and pay attention she followed directions, she went from level 2 to level 3. I had originally paid for 8 lessons, but I had seen so much improvement I went ahead and paid for 4 more classes. Every week i would see her in the water i would see something new that she was learning. This is the best money I've ever spent, I've told my friends about it, it's so worth it, I'm actually thinking of taking lessons myself. The owners -- especially Ted -- are warm, professional, and genuinely invested in every child's progress. And the instructors? Absolutely incredible. Our son started at the lowest level, with no real swimming experience other than a few sessions at YMCA. Unfortunately, our experience at YMCA was horrible, and I would not recommend anyone waste their money there. In complete contrast, British Swim School has been everything we hoped for and more. Watching our son progress all the way to Turtle Two has been amazing -- his confidence, comfort, and skills in the water have grown tremendously. Over time, we've had the privilege of learning from several talented instructors: Jayme, Kayla, Tristin, Micah -- and forgive me if I missed a few others. Every single one has been patient, skilled, and gifted at making kids feel comfortable. The way they build trust and bond with the children is incredible to watch. A Special Thank You to Elena For the past few weeks, Elena has been our son's instructor, and she has been nothing short of exceptional. Her teaching philosophy is thoughtful, structured, and incredibly effective. She has a rare ability to understand exactly what a child needs -- whether it's confidence, correction, or encouragement -- and she adjusts her approach instantly. Elena has a remarkable talent for breaking down techniques in a way kids can actually absorb. She focuses on both the micro and macro, explaining the small details that make a big difference while still keeping the bigger picture in mind. She notices everything -- breathing rhythm, hand placement, body alignment, comfort level, and even emotional cues. That level of detail is hard to find. Her patience is truly unmatched. She never rushes, never forces, and never makes a child feel overwhelmed. Instead, she guides them with calm confidence, and you can see how much trust kids place in her. Our son responds to her so well -- she has elevated his technique, boosted his confidence, and helped him enjoy swimming in a way we hadn't seen before. For our son, Elena has genuinely been a gift, and we are so grateful for her. This does not minimize the incredible work the other instructors do -- but Elena's impact has been especially meaningful for him. A Program That Actually Works One thing I absolutely love about British Swim School is their program structure. They start with water safety, then move into stroke development, and everything is taught in a very regimented, methodical way. It's based on what works best for kids, and you can clearly see the results. Their pricing is reasonable, and the value you get is outstanding. I want to give a huge shout-out to all the instructors -- every single one has played a part in our son's growth. If you want your child to learn what truly matters in the water, this is the swim school to choose.

Do NOT Bring a Child Who Is Afraid of Water Here…read more My daughter is 3 years old, and this was her very first swimming lesson ever. Before her first lesson, I clearly told the staff that she was terrified of water and that my goal was simply for her to gradually build confidence and become comfortable in the water. I specifically asked them not to force her underwater. The instructor completely ignored my concerns. During her very first lesson, the instructor put my daughter's head underwater. She immediately panicked and cried. You could clearly see the fear on her face, yet the instructor continued putting her underwater multiple times while she was crying. How is a terrified 3-year-old supposed to learn to hold her breath underwater while she is panicking and crying? At one point, she choked on the water, and I had to stop the lesson and pull her out of the pool. She threw up at the pool afterward and told me she never wanted to swim again. It took months for her to overcome the fear from that experience. The staff member later contacted me and apologized. I explained that I was willing to give them another chance, but I made it extremely clear that my daughter needed to go at her own pace and would go underwater only when she was ready. When we returned for the second lesson, I reminded the staff multiple times not to put her underwater. I also told the instructor directly. Instead of respecting my request, I was told that they have their own "curriculum" that they follow. I explained that I understood they had a curriculum, but I was asking them to make an exception because of my daughter's previous experience and fear. Apparently, their "curriculum" is more important than listening to a parent and recognizing when a terrified 3-year-old is crying. They put her underwater AGAIN. My daughter was crying and clearly terrified, and they continued anyway. This was not teaching--it was forcing a frightened child into something she was not ready for. I simply wanted my daughter to learn basic swimming and water safety in a safe, patient, and supportive environment. Instead, they ignored my repeated requests and made her fear even worse. If your child is young or afraid of water, I strongly recommend staying away from this place. I would never trust them with my child again. A child's safety, trust, and emotional well-being should come before any "curriculum."
