I was really disappointed with my visit. Multiple tanks looked visibly dirty (algae buildup, cloudy water, and significant debris), and several fish appeared stressed. The overall cleanliness and upkeep did not inspire confidence. I also had concerns about how things were handled in-store (communication and transparency felt lacking), so I won't be returning. If you care about tank hygiene and animal care standards, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. There are also well over a dozen code violations in regard to this business and definitely some shady practices going on here like a front, or fraud with SEC. read more

The service was amazing. The store had everything I need for my fish tank and for my Gheco. I also use them for taking care of my tank at home and the service is a Ten. Pricing; with the always changing in livestock trade. Pricing will always vary. This establishment is in not exception, daily priced. Corals are over priced! Location; very easy to find with ample parking. Livestock; have saltwater, freshwater, reptile, bird livestock and supplies but not much of it. Selection is very limited. Saltwater fish are in small and poor condition holding enclosures. Overall; not very pleased. Recently purchase a fish from there, it was stressed and barely eating. Luckily I was able to slowly acclimate it to its new environment before releasing it to my main display tank. read more

Really pleased to have found this spot! The owner helped us and had great advice for introducing new angelfish to a tank that had a single semi-aggressive angelfish who recently lost her bonded pair. The new fish are taking beautifully! Plant looks great, rose sharks have joined our tetra school. Thank you guys so much. If you visit, make sure to say hi to the cockatoo, Fluffy! I have been going here a handful of times(literally) over 5 years. All staff has been courteous and very helpful(4 stars) However, do not go here if you are a beginner w/ fish or other pets. Got a fish there yesterday. Asked what they're return policy is and they said "if it dies in the bag then you can get a new one". I trusted that their fish were nice and healthy. My water is perfect in my tank and all levels were great. One of the fish I purchased from them died within 10 hours. I acclaimed them correctly and what not. Can they really not afford to give me a new fish for their crappy ways..........Now I'm out the money I overpaid for their fish. Avoid this place at al costs. They overcharge and don't change their water In their tanks. AVOID! Fish are sick and they will die and you'll be out of a lot of money that you overpaid at this place! Also, they keep their beautiful bird outside no matter what weather. Terrible people. Not to mention the stink of BO in the place. I thought I was the only one who felt taken advantage of by this business, and I was frankly embarrassed to share my experience since I too felt "ripped off". Most of the products do not have prices and to protect your wallet, you must ask "how much". The cost of what I was buying was so outrageous, I refused to buy it, and as I was leaving I was told it was mispriced. I bought it, and still ended up paying almost twice as much as I recently payed at Petco. I understand it is a small business and their costs are higher than chain stores, or online retailers, but I just do not want to worry about getting taken advantage of when shopping. Do not pull up in a nice car, do not wear a nice watch, do not wear clean close, look poor, have a sad story and maybe they will give you a break- better yet- just shop elsewhere. read more

Came in a few days ago to get a new fish for my aquarium at home and i was completely and utterly disgusted by this place. I walked in and immediately smelled some sort of musty combination of cigarettes and body odor that lingered through the whole shop. Thank god i had a mask. the employees however, were not wearing theirs and i had to ask twice for them to please raise their masks over their nose... complete disrespect and poor etiquette to customers that are worried about the virus! On top of that, the water that the fish are being kept in looked filthy! i counted at least 7 fish that were floating dead in their tanks. No respect for nature and wildlife either... Long story short, i will never be returning to this repulsive "fish store" and i hope i can persuade readers to maybe just stick to petsmart or try another exotic animal shop. fyi- i would leave 0 stars if that was an option read more

Don't know why this place gets dragged so hard on Yelp... never had any problems. The owner and workers have been nothing but polite and helpful to me, and while I can understand people complaining about high prices, if you're not willing to pay the price then look somewhere else. It's that simple. I notice some reviews complain about how they handle fish but I've seen nothing except good care and happy fishies. Went in today as I was planning to buy some Angel fish and was given a decent amount of info for my needs in my tank to keep them I had spotted two angels I loved but the guy handling my fish told me which ones were most healthy and a better chance of survival so I bought a striped marble type Angel and a pure black. A lot of mixed reviews here. I wanted to go here a few times and experience what this place has to offer before I wrote mine. Upon walking in it is very crowded but understandable. The freshwater and saltwater selection they have is actually quite impressive. They get a few rare fish and it's pretty awesome. I've gotten quite a few fish from here. Some have died. But that was sight the shops fault and mine. Basically I didn't inspect the fish well enough to know when I got it home it had been picked on. Fins were torn and it was already completely stressed out. Regardless I've had 8 danios, 4 barbs and 4 Corys from here perfectly healthy living happily in my planted tank. Since the last 2 fish have died I've gotten I've been hesitant to get a pleco since it's a bit more expensive. But I feel that if you take enough time to look at and inspect the fish you buy you'll be fine. Ken is quite the salesman which is expected it is his shop. But he's also very helpful. I had gotten a few fish that didn't like my tank so I was able to bring them back and return exchange them with no issues. The staff is very nice and helpful. Most are hobbyists as well. So it's nice to talk to other aquatic hobbyists. They also have birds and snakes. Kinda random but they do. They all seem healthy and taken care of so no issues there. I'd say the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of price and cleanliness. Shop definitely needs to be remodeled a bit or cleaned up a tad. And the fish are highly overpriced. But I pay it knowing my fish are healthy and taken care of. As long as you take the time to pick them!. Always when you buy from any pet store. Inspect the fish for ich, fin rot or weird behavior. Not doing so will result in having loss of fish. I will update my review when I get my new pleco and a few more Corys. read more

Prices are not lacked and they seem to have poor knowledge of their stock, sometimes not know the name of a particular fish. I used to come here a lot for fish and supplies but its been a while now as there is better service around the TO area. It's not the quality of the fish or animals its their failure to recognize the customer knowledge or lack of and then provide the appropriate service that goes with that. Qualify your customers guys and then treat accordingly, and don't sell newbies stuff they don't need. I started a saltwater reef tank, I had already purchased the tank on Craig's list and saved 50% and went in to get live rock, sand and water to get started. I was told my tank was too small, my lights we no good and needed to buy stuff that was more than i could afford. Then I went in for a skimmer and other stuff and they wouldn't price match. Then I got the 3rd degree on why I bought it from somewhere else and I just got pissed off. I have been in high level sales all my life and I can spot this $hit from a mile away and you lost my business because of it. So, If you are going to get any kind of aquarium set up then you need to do your research on line and lots of it, even if its a simple set up for the kids. It doesn't matter which LFS (local fish shop) you go to advice is varied. If your not prepared to research extensively what type of setup you are ready or able to look after, use proper water from your LFS, and understand water parameters and the nitrogen cycle, nor prepared to climatize your new arrivals then fish die and you can't blame the shop. Visit a few places before you get started, ask lots of questions before you start and see what store you're comfortable with. If your going salt and corals then it will take patience and lots of it, but very rewarding. Your own few square feet of ocean in the living room... but if its for the kids room then keep it simple and freshwater fish only. This is a good, well stocked LFS, they do know they're stuff here ...but so should you! They give good advice when needed but like anywhere, if business is slow then salesmen do their thing and it could cost you and more fool you. It doesn't matter who runs the place. BTW, I have a 40 gallon coral reef tank with fish that looks beautiful and I am very happy with it. read more
