My home's lot is midway down a long neighborhood slope, which means the backyard is always inches deep in spring rain runoff. No fun playing with the dog in those conditions. Looking online for a landscape company, I came across the reviews for A R Landscaping. The negative reviews seemed odd so I researched them. There are different companies in other states with similar names and the negative reviewers were from those other states. I decided to ask Andy, from the McMinnville A R Landscaping, for a bid so I could see for myself how they operated. Andy was on time, friendly, and knowledgeable. He did a thorough site assessment and recommended installing a French drain. My lot also falls off along the back into a very steep slope. It was nearly impossible to get down to the bottom in order to hack out encroaching blackberries. Andy described several possible solutions at different price points, and based on my replies, recommended installing a staircase made by digging into the hillside and individually setting large stones with levelling supports. I'm including photos so you can see the type of work done as well as the quality workmanship. Andy's crew was on time, professional, knowledgeable, polite and cleaned up after themselves. The resulting French drain is very effective; it made a big difference in channeling water out of the backyard. The stairs are very sturdy and I feel safe going up and down them while carrying yard tools. I couldn't be happier with my interactions with Andy and his company. He was responsive and straightforward and there were no cost overruns. In short, I highly recommend A R Landscaping and when I have another landscaping project in mind, they will be the ones I call. read more

All I have to say is AR landscaping is the best around. Nobody beats their prices and they always go the extra mile for you. Yeah I don't know about some of those other reviewer's but maybe they're sniffing glue or whatever but they are 100% wrong they do great work all the time PERIOD. read more

My fiancee contacted Andy and the next day he was at my house for the quote. 2 days later Suzie and Chad came out and made my house look great again with complete professionalism. Can't wait to continue with the maintenance. Would definitely recommend AR landscaping. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. TERRIBLE customer service. Tried time and time again to pay them for a simple back flow test. Once they finally got back to me over email, they told me they only take check and money order.... are we in 1987 or 2020?... then when I asked if I could come in and pay I got no response for MONTHS. They told me they had a "family emergency" and that was why they never responded. After several tacked on late fees, I called to get everything taken care of and the woman on the phone was more than rude. She gave me terrible customer service over the phone and acted like I was a bother to her for asking questions. Safe to say I will NEVER be using this company again. The customer service is disgusting and I've never been treated so poorly in my life by a company. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service. It's 2020 and they apparently only take checks for payment. I Called multiple times unanswered, tried emailing with them to figure out if I could pay with cash in person and they just never replied. Instead they figured they would just Ignore me and stack on a Late fee. Really great when a company works with its customers. Unimpressive work. Had these guys bring in 3 units of clean fill dirt, regrade and top off with a couple units of 50/50. Contracted base on 4 days of work and expected it to be ready to plant. It wasn't. They only spend 2 1/2 days working. I Had to rake out many areas around the perimeter to get nice uniform grade, redistributed multiple wheel barrows of material and also had to replace 4 sprinkler heads they knocked out that were clearly marked prior to start of work. If I could give them zero or negative stars I would. Let me begin this review by saying that I am extremely slow to judge, and almost ALWAYS give people the benefit of the doubt, even when I probably shouldn't. The only thing this company is good at is taking your money for services they never intend to render. From day one, this company has been nothing but a headache, hassle and waste of money. I should have known when the owner came out to give us a quote and never showed up. He claimed that he couldn't find our house and lost my number so he couldn't call me. It wasn't until I waited around for an entire day and finally called them the near morning that he came up with that excuse. Against my better judgement, I let him come another day and we entered into a one year contract for weekly yard maintenance. This was to include mowing, edging, weed control and basic upkeep of our front and back yards. We have a very small yard space, really only takes about 20 minutes to mow front and back. For whatever reason, this family owned business does not seem to run well AT ALL. They skip weeks almost every month, fail to do anything more than mow (if you could even call it that) and are downright unprofessional. The crew is, for all intents and purposes, lazy and unprofessional. They would come to my house and sit in my driveway for almost an hour before doing 15 minutes of "maintenance" and leaving. I held onto my belief that maybe things would get better and over the course of a year, NOTHING has gotten better. They have left our gate open, which let our dogs escape. They never respond to communications in a timely manor, and now here at the end of our contract they have completely stopped showing up or responding to any communication despite the month of April being paid for. I will say it again, the ONLY thing this company is good at is sending you the bill and cashing your checks. Once they get your money they will treat you with absolute disrespect and completely disregard the terms of the contract that they themselves wrote. Save yourself the trouble and find a different company. read more

Also, unimpressed. I contracted them to kill our backyard, bring in top soil, regrade, lay sod, bark dust, and 3/4 minus on the side yard. They stated that the job would only take 3 days. It took almost three weeks. The price they quoted us continued to climb every time we turned around. "I didn't know you wanted us to spread the bark dust?" There was a consistent lack of communication during the entire process. They finally laid the sod which had obvious brown spots and gaps even when they laid it. The job was completed three weeks ago, and the guy is continuing to argue about how it was my fault the sod shrank and created brown spots and gaps. If the company ever came around to fix their work, I might up this to three stars. read more
