These guys were great and not only because they do a good job! We had a weird circumstance where when their guy, Alex, came out for the pre-treatment, he noticed "soft spots" in our roof. Since we don't routinely go up there and weren't experiencing any leaks in the house, we had no idea. Alex took photos for me, but since they aren't roof repairers, I used their photos to contact roofing contractors. The morning the Green and Clean crew (Alex and Kaelyn) came to finish the roof clean, I started getting quotes and it was looking like we were going to have to replace most, if not all, of our roof! I had every intention of paying Green and Clean to do the full cleaning job, but I did commiserate out loud how it was a bummer I was going to be getting a soon-to-be replaced roof cleaned :( . But get this...Alex called his manager himself and rang my bell, saying they would offer a *lower* price since I was probably going to have to have a new roof within a month (they would still clean, but it wouldn't be as extensive). How cool is that? I didn't even pressure him or the office to change our treatment. I so appreciated the initiative Alex took and *really*appreciated that Green and Clean were kind enough to cut us a break when they didn't have to. Guys did a great job for us. Our property manager was recommending a roof cleaning even though the roof is only a couple years old. These guys went out, looked and said no way. No cleaning needed. We figured as much. For a very competitive price these guys did treat our roof to prevent moss growing, plus they cleaned and repaired our gutters. We moved into a very wooded neighborhood near Multnomah Village. This means lots of moss on everything. We were gifted a moss removal by another company, but after two treatments (we are doubtful they did anything) nothing had happened, so we arranged for the gifter to get a refund. But moss is worrisome, it can actually destroy your roof, so I went searching on Angie's list and found Green & Clean. They came out and gave us an estimate right away, which we approved. Within a day, we could see the moss beginning to die. A little over a week later the crew came out and finished the job.. Not a speck of moss is left. I initially didn't get a response when I submitted the online contact firm about getting our roof cleaned. When I left a voicemail two days later, the manager Chris called me back immediately to schedule a time that same day to stop by and give a quote. He was prompt, courteous, and very professional. We waited a few weeks to make our decision, but when I emailed Chris to schedule our cleaning, he responded within two hours. His crew missed their first appointment to apply the moss killer, but again, Chris responded immediately when I contacted him, and he had his crew at my house first thing the next morning. They were efficient and courteous. They returned 10 days later for the actual moss removal, and the roof looks amazing! I wasn't home, but they cleaned up exactly as described in the quote, and left a bill on my door, plus I received an email with an online payment link. I was totally satisfied with the work G&C did on my roof. They used non-toxic treatments as we have a rain garden that drains from the roof and ducks that use it. They took all day getting every bit of moss off by hand and cleaned up everything with the exception of an area that had a hornet nest. I will have them out again when a new treatment is needed for sure. read more

Found Green & clean on Angie's List, contacted them regarding their Aeration package. Made the appointment for early AM, they arrived promptly. Spoke to the gentlemen about their service and the areas I wanted aerated and they went to work. The whole process (which included aeration, fertilization, lime and over seeding) took approx. 45 minutes, they were helpful and were able to do all the areas I requested. Not sure if my lawn will cooperate (it was in real bad shape) of course I would have the service days before a heat wave in Portland, Oregon in early June. But this is not because Green & Clean did not do their job, look forward to possibly working with them to maintain my yard. We hired Green and Clean to aerate, thatch, and reseed our lawn. We had huge bald spots under our trees and loads of moss in other areas. We were very impressed with everything they did. They were hard workers, friendly, and timely. Their bid was fair and they worked us into their schedule quickly. We have signed up for a "package that will put us on regular fertilizing and demossing. We are looking forward to a new green lawn and with no effort from us besides writing a check. read more

Our contractor friend Scott Wacker recommended Green and Clean so we had them give us a bid. We were happy with the cost and scheduled the work. They were amazing. They did the pre-treat and then called a few days ahead to schedule the cleaning. The crew arrived and spent the better part of the day cleaning our roof. We had some nesting turtle doves and they took great care to keep the momma on the nest. Our roof looks amazing. It hadn't been cleaned for 12 years. I'd recommend Green and Clean for any roof. What a great company. I was one of those that got sucked into the Groupon deal with some other discount company whose only solution was to pressure wash the roof (which takes care of moss but also takes about 10 years of life of the roof - no thanks!). I turned them away and would not let them on the roof as their discounted fee would cost me dearly. So after careful research I came across Green & Clean and am so thrilled I did. I have chickens & a dog and did not want harsh chemicals that could hurt my pets and Green & Clean uses none of those so they hit that check box. I did not want a company that pressure washed roof - Green and clean hit that Check box. I wanted someone would do what they said they would, show up when they said they would, and They definitely hit that checkbox! Throughout the process, JD had refreshingly great communication and kept me updated (without pestering me with too many calls) and worked around my schedule and a vacation we had planned. The job they did was to perfection. I had let my roof build up a reasonable amount of moss and now it almost looks brand new. I feel like i just added 10+ years of life to the roof. They also did a tremendous job of clean up and not disturbing any of our garden area. JD & his crew were simply top knotch and i would use them again in a heart beat. main roof looked good when they finished second part of moss removal. examined the gutters next day and discovered black sludge not removed; they returned to do this and got most of it. took a closer look at roof today and discovered they failed to remove moss from one small section. for the prices they charge, i would expect more thorough work. caveat emptor. read more
