I asked a clerk for assistance and she just said "look back here and if you can't find anything, look in the craft area," as she walked away. Hmmmm, I looked where she had pointed, couldn't find anything and then had to search for the craft aisles. I roamed around aimlessly for some time. It was not easy. I finally found the craft aisles but had questions and there weren't any clerks around. As I headed to the checkout, I looked up my account on the app. No clerks at the front but the self checkout was open. I checked out and left with no other human interaction. The girls all had a blast and they all left with two slimes they made themselves. There are so many themed kids and adult parties you can choose from. The studio is tucked near the older part of Del Amo Mall near Burlington Coat Factory. I had no idea it was here but now I really hope more people discover this gem.

I was looking for something fun and different to do with my nieces and came across Hello Pottery at…read moreDel Amo Mall. Before heading over, I gave them a call to see if we needed a reservation. They told me walk-ins are totally fine, but if you're planning to go on a weekend, it's better to book ahead because it can get pretty busy. When we walked in, the first thing I noticed was how cute the store was! There were so many different DIY projects to choose from that it took us a while to decide. We ended up doing the cream glue project and picked the smaller items--a hanging accessory and a claw clip. It was $28 per project, plus a $5 studio fee. Once we checked in, they handed each of us an adorable teddy bear basket to collect our supplies. We got to choose up to 10 charms and one color of cream glue, which was honestly one of the hardest parts because everything was so cute. Before we started, one of the employees demonstrated a few different cream glue techniques and showed us the best way to place the charms, which was really helpful since it was our first time. The whole experience was so relaxing and surprisingly addicting. We spent a good amount of time decorating. It felt like such a fun way to unplug and just be creative together. The only thing to keep in mind is that you don't get to take your project home the same day. The cream glue needs time to fully cure, so they told us it would be ready for pickup in about 5-10 days. Parking was easy since it's inside Del Amo Mall, and there was plenty available. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Hello Pottery if you're looking for a unique activity for a girls' day, family outing, date, or even just some solo creative time. Service is hit & miss. Depending on the clientele & how busy it is, you may get helped quickly or you have to wait until the ladies finish chatting with coworkers or clienteles. Parking is tight on weekends but the flow of customers coming and going out of FB has never made me drive around the block more than once or twice. Because FB has always had what I needed. I have never been to go downtown to the Garment District. I have been living in SoCal for 33 years! Check them out!

I don't own a serger yet, but it's reassuring to know my sewing machine will be in good hands if it ever needs servicing. I'm looking forward to taking one of their sewing classes to build my beginner sewing skills. A few weeks after our session, we called the place to follow up on our pieces and the woman on the phone sounded rude about us asking about it. We went to pick up our pieces recently and the woman at the front desk definitely sounded like the one we talked to on the phone, same voice and same unwelcoming attitude. As if our presence ruined her day or us picking up our pieces was such a drastic request for her to do.
