They took the time to answer my questions and helped me find exactly what I needed without making me feel rushed or overwhelmed. I need to find machines fixed and I called them and asked them for a estimate price and they said bring it in and will tell you. When I get there they tell me it's $95. And that doesn't even cover the cost of the service and parts. I thought that was way over priced and it took them 10 days to fix it. Plus they're from another country, and they're very hard to understand. I went to another place before and they weren't charging that much but this place was close by and as I said I didn't know until I got there how much they were going to charge. I should've just taken my machines and gone elsewhere. read more

Have spent what I consider a fair amount of money in this store. Buying two Baby Lock machines, one serger and one embroidery and a Koala sewing cabinet and chair. Have had both machines regularly serviced at AAA. Today my serger had a jam and I had a customer waiting on a project, so I needed the jam cleared out. I take it in and am quoted 5 days turn around and $125 for a complete service. Well, it just had a complete service only 18 months before and the machine had not been used in a year. After arguing with them woman behind the desk (she tells me I did not have the machine serviced recently, while there was a dated sticker still on the machine cover from AAA) she agrees they can have the machine back within 2 days and will cost $89. Eighty nine dollars to remove some jammed material? That seems way out of line. A fair price would have been $49. or $59 at the most. Will not bring my machines back here and recommend you don't either. Might add the owner Salima is very nice, however she was not in today. read more

Recently had to take my sewing/embroidery machine in for service for an error message I was getting. It was also time for a tuneup. My machine was ready within a week and is like brand new. The error message was actually user error so I just paid for the tune-up. My sewing machine tote was even cleaned for me. Not to mention thr super friendly staff ! read more

While in the middle of a gift was completing my sewing machine and embroidery arm wouldn't calibrate. No matter what I tried, I couldn't work past the problem. I called AAA and they asked me a few questions on the phone to see if it's something I was doing wrong and determined my machine needed to be seen to get a quote. I drove right over and dropped off my machine (late in the day) and they wrote up the work ticket. I explained that I only had 5 more days to finish the gift I was making. The very next day they called with the estimate. It needed a part for the arm (I had not been covering my machine in between uses at all) and that caused a problem. I was so happy when they said they have it stock! I was way overdue for a regular service so I asked them to complete that while it was there. Not only was the price excellent, I will be getting it back in plenty of time to finish up the gift! I'm so happy with AAA and the family that runs it. I've been a customer since I purchased my machine, which was a discounted floor model, a few years back. It's been such a good decision to buy/learn/shop and now repair there. I am not a seamstress but I have a sewing machine and needed to duplicate a bellyband needed for a male dog. I already had one but couldn't find anymore online of the same quality so I decided to make my own. I took the sample of the one I had into AAA and asked their help in figuring out what to use for the inner lining. It needed to be something pliable but something that would hold its shape over time. Two ladies went to work and came up with the perfect solution. They were more than willing to help and hopefully a bit excited about helping with an item they hadn't done before. My poor Pfaff (from the 80's) needed some love. I've had it for 30 years, and recently it started acting up. (I e never had any work done on it. ) They're authorized repair, so took my machine when we visited my dad in South Bay (no places near us here in DTLA). Got an estimate for tune up, but wasn't surprised the poor thing needed a clutch. It acts like it's a new machine. Thanks for making him new again! read more

I paid $95 for AAA to clean and tune my sewing machine. I dropped it off with a spool of thread and a full bobbin I had just made for the project I was working on. Today I picked up my machine but the bobbin was white instead of being blue. When I asked for my bobbin back, I was told that they threw all my thread out! I told them that they should have told me they would throw it away and I would have kept it or bought an empty bobbin to leave with the machine. The owner came out and said my Gutterman thread was terrible thread and what they threw out was "just a few cents worth"....no apologies, no offers to make it right, only comments that my choice of thread was TRASH. She finally offered me "a few cents" for the thread, which I turned down. I will now need to buy another spool of thread to match my project and I didn't want to buy their overpriced thread. Also, it was the principle of the matter. Maybe if she had apologized I would feel differently but I didn't feel valued as a customer or as a person. I won't be going back and I would NEVER recommend them. Their material and thread is also WAY OVERPRICED! read more

I was out with my 2 dachshunds, and popped in for a spool of black thread to finish a project. She looked at me like I had 2 leashed bags of excrement, and snarled - some customers might be allergic. I told her I just wanted thread and would leave. With a sour look on her face, she sold me the (overpriced) thread and asked me to leave. On the way out, a serger caught my eye and I stopped to look. I'm on the market for a serger. She yelled from across the room - ALLERGIC! LEAVE!! You bet I left, you old animal hating cow, and I won't ever be back. read more

I bought an expensive sewing machine at this store 3 yrs ago. I took it in for service 1 month ago. I was given as estimate of 1 week turnaround. I also asked for a maintenance service. Over the past month, they have never called me. I have called weekly and been told they ordered a part that would take a week. They said they expected it in last week. No call. They said they would check UPS for tracking/estimated delivery. No call. They said they would call Pfaff and would call me. No call. Today I checked with another sewing machine repair company which called Pfaff about the necessary part and was told it was in stock, estimated delivery time 1 week. I finally went to AAA and picked up my machine today - they had done NO SERVICE. I took it to the other sewing machine repair business that cared enough to call Pfaff and called me back. Over the past 3 years, I only felt like people at AAA paid any real interest in me when I bought the machine. The quilting classes were too limited. Some sales people were nice, but owners (especially female owner ) were indifferent and not service oriented. If they really want their business to withstand COVID, I would think customer service and working longer than 10 am-3 pm should be important. As a follow-up, I picked up my machine I repaired, from AAA, took it to Tanner's Sewing and Vacuum Center in LA. They ordered the necessary part, completed repair in less than 2 weeks. read more

I purchased a Babylock sewing machine from here in June. It was "on sale" and was told when they are gone, they are gone! come to find out later all Babylock Jubilants are this price. There really wasn't a sale. I was also told I would receive a class for free that would teach me everything I needed to know about the machine. I was very excited to get started! There wasn't a class scheduled as of yet but I was told I would be notified soon! I was never notified. I called in august wondering and was told there was no class on the schedule and they weren't sure when one would be added. Hmmm... well, 3 months later, I have taught myself through YouTube and friends. I asi purchased a $40 off brand walking foot. The foot has broken 3 times and I finally bought a $60 Babylock one that works wonderfully. Im sad I never got to take the class and disappointed I waisted $40 on a foot that I needed to toss. read more

I have been a customer of AAA Sewing and Fabric since 1999 when I bought a Pfaff 7570 from them. I have purchased a Destiny. I purchased a little Brothers machine recently for my granddaughter from them. I have a Janome that I did not purchase from them. I took my Janome into a repair shop on Artesia Blvd, twice to have it repaired and it still skips stitches. I thought they would not repair a machine I did not buy from AAA. Today I took it to AAA Sewing. Aman, Amina and Salima are fixing my machine FREE. The customer service they provide is outstanding. They treat us like family. I couldn't be happier. This little store went above and beyond exceeding my expectations as a first time buyer of a sewing machine. Absolutely 100% recommend it. First we were greeted by Ameena who was extremely helpful in showing us some of the machines that they had to offer, even giving us a live demonstration of the machines. She was flexible when it came to showing me different machines that fit my price range, never once making me feel pressured. After seeing a few viable options options I became unsure; it was then, suddenly, that a man man emerges from the back room saying "I've got it! I know the EXACT machine for you". It was Arman the owner the store with more energy than anyone you'd ever seen. (Mind you he was in the back room--he had not been with us which meant he'd been listening to our entire conversation. Straight out of a movie!) In all, hewas right -- I found the perfect machine. He even went so far as to show me exactly how the machine worked. His knowledge and expertise is above and beyond anything that you would expect. If it's a sewing machine you need I wouldn't recommend any other store. read more

For those of you trying to research a place to fix or buy a sewing machine? Let me save you the hassle of going to these folks. I had purchased a sewing machine from this place about 10 years ago for my girlfriend which is now my wife. She used it about 2 times and it took a dump on us. Well now with a home of our own we needed to fix it so we took it back not knowing they moved to the PCH location from Hawthorne and sepulveda. Without even taking the machine and checking what's wrong they instantly quoted my wife $90.00 up front... We left, and looked around in Torrance for someone a little more trust worthy and found a place heading south past PCH on Hawthorne there is a vacuum and sew repair place and the guy's name is Carl. He's been in the business for 40+ years and he gave me a free estimate and it ended up being that the old wheels just needed greasing up and tuned. The damage was $40.00 and a piece of mind was restored. This place AAA FABRIC is not a trustworthy place to give your money. Just my opinion. read more

I purchased a Pfaff sewing machine from AAA Sewing and Fabric a few months ago. Just recently the bobbin got stuck on the bobbin winder. I took it in to AAA and they removed the bobbin. I brought the machine home and took the cover off and my accessory tray and all the contents were missing. As was the Presser Feet Pressure Dial!! I immediately called the store and the woman suggested that I had removed it and it was at my home. She said the tech would have had no reason to remove it. She told me to check around the house and check the trunk of my car. Then she hung up on me. She's right, he would have had no reason to remove it! But it is gone and I DO NOT have it. Where is it? I am very perplexed! I have called several times and even took my machine in but they insist they don't have it. I don't have it! Where is it? She was more than happy to order extra parts for me at a tune of around $300.00!! Hmm. Color me puzzled. Where are the parts to my machine?? read more

I bought a $2000 new sewing machine here and had a problem within a week. The automatic thread cutter wasn't working consistently. First time brought in the machine, the owner told me to use the thread they sell. I used a different kind (Made in German, Gutermann). Second time I brought in, they changed the blade. Third time I brought in, the owner was really upset and said " I told you to use our thread and you didn't. If you brought the machine again, I will charge you $99 bench fee!" Excuse me, I have one year service warranty. Plus, the manufacture doesn't recommend to use only certain thread. I finally decided to use their expensive thread which I honestly notice more lint than the one I used. My 10 year old Brother machine never had this problem. I tried to show the owner the thread they recommend has more lint, but she just quickly whined the thread and gave me back. I was told many times if I am working on a PROJECT or just messing up with the cutter. What a sarchasm :( I am just trying to figure out what's wrong with my machine. Using the thread they said to use, the cutter still didn't cut. I brought the machine for the FOURTH time. They finally investigated the problem and it was just a simple screwing issue inside the machine. They never apologized me for blaming me. They were so rude and unkind. I will never have business here again. I will try going to the other place which other reviewer was recommended. read more

I can't remember when I started coming to AAA, perhaps 15 years? I've purchased two vacuums, two sergers (traded one in for a nice discount), one cadillac of an embroidery machine, one utility sewing machine, and countless thread, notions, and fabric. It's a pleasure to go in the store and I'm always greeted with happy employees. The repair work from the shop is excellent: I can count on an explanation of what was repaired, quality workmanship, and a fair price. I have had repairs/tune-ups on old sewing machines and vacuums with very reasonable pricing so much so that I keep coming back. I recently took a few classes to get to know my serger and embroidery machine better and the instructors are fabulous! I'm able to use both of my new machines with greater ease and I really appreciate that AAA wants their customers to be comfortable with the machines they purchase. I feel like AAA Sewing and Fabric is a gem of a shop and I hope they are around for another 40+ years. read more

My wife used to take her Bernina sewing machine in to AAA for servicing and repairs when they were located on Sepulveda. They were the best for servicing the Bernina, so even though we live north of LAX, we'd trek down there every year to drop it off, and again, to pick it up. Recently, my wife was getting a bit frustrated with the buttonhole attachment not working, again, and again. She started researching newer, electronic machines, and had just about decided on what she wanted. Unfortunately, or fortunately, she couldn't find a local store that stocked that model. She called AAA to ask if they carried it. The owner said that they repair that brand, but don't sell them, because they don't think that it's a good product. Decided to make the drive down there to see what they would recommend. The owner listened to what my wife was interested in, and immediately suggested a Pfaff machine. She took a lot of time to explain and demonstrate the advantages of the Pfaff, and recommended it as a solid, reliable machine. My wife bought the Pfaff, but it's been a steep learning curve. Today, we went down there for a Pfaff class. Normally, the class costs $300, but is included when you buy a machine, there. I came along as my wife's technical coach. The class was excellent. There were 4 ladies with various models of Pfaff machines, and various levels of sewing proficiency. The instruction was very helpful, and personalized to each person's needs. These modern machines are very sophisticated computers, that sew. The technical side can be bewildering to someone who has used a mechanical machine for 40 years. Still, if one perseveres, the new machines can do so much more than the old ones, in less time. Great local shop, with owners dedicated to the satisfaction of their customers. This is not the cheapest way to buy a sewing machine, but you won't get the expert advice and support from an online or warehouse store. read more

They were so helpful. The guy knew what kind of sewing machine I had right down to the model number based off from the pr next I brought in that I was working on and the year sewing machine. They also spend a fair amount of time showing me what all the feet were for, and trying to make an adaption kit for an invisible zipper attachment. Incredibly helpful. I saw this store appear on PCH and thought, really? Fabric... it's been years since we had a fabric source that met criteria... My only problem with AAA, they are closed on Sunday and Monday, my days off... I finally had a chance to go in the store yesterday. There is parking, accessible from Reed. I have been looking for cotton prints. They have a nice selection of really good quality cotton prints, at better than usual prices. A beautiful selection of Batik prints, beautiful fabrics with quality fabric feel (not the more-like-gauze with that old India-bedspread-from-the-60s-feel you will find in that other store). Instead of picking through a sorry selection of bolts that turn out to be short of my needed yardage, I had to choose from several pieces I really liked, I picked three but have ideas for others I will return for. The staff was great, friendly and professional. They have a nice assortment of sewing accessories, some high end items I've never seen in that other store, an excellent selection of thread, an impressive selection of sewing machines and specialty machines. There is a very large room for classes. You can tell they really know their products. I really want a better sewing machine, I can tell, I'm going to be spending some time there.... read more

Salima & her family and other staff members including outside educators made sure that I became familiar with my sewing machine and I was always welcomed back to get answers on any questions regarding anything I've ever purchased from them . This is a great business. My mother has been going to them since I was a kid (I'm 37 now). I've recently taken a few different apparel classes with them and their instructors are top notch. I've also purchased a sewing machine from them and I got a free instructional class on how to use it! I've had a machine repaired, and their prices are fair and their work is fantastic.
