I have three other locations that are closer to me, and I drive past all of them to come here. The staff are some of the nicest, most caring people I've ever encountered. They are always ready for me, and after I check in, they call me back almost immediately. The facility is consistently clean, and they even have a knee cushion set up and ready for my comfort. Did I mention how amazing the staff are? This visit I was in and out for my CT scan in 13 minutes. The combination of efficiency, cleanliness, and exceptional customer care keeps me coming back. No handicapped parking available, there are only 4 handicapped surface-spaces available for this major hospital and the garage handicapped parking is full. We had to maneuver on foot over 100 yards from a top floor of the garage then uphill to the facility. If you need handicapped parking, don't drive yourself here, get a ride. I was badly misdiagnosed, and when I contacted ARA about it, I didn't get a particularly sympathetic reception. Communication from them was awful, and they left me confused and pretty disappointed. They did correct the issues long after they were basically moot, but they made me feel as if they didn't appreciate my pointing out what I wasn't so pleased about. They get two stars for the corrections, even if it wasn't done with very good grace. Don't count on kindness from their Service Excellence people. read more

I was told over the phone that they do not accept appointments, that this is a walk-in only facility with openings starting at 11:30 a.m. So I showed up early, at 11:20. I was asked if I had an appointment! I said that I was told that they don't take appointments! He told me that i had an appointment scheduled for that day at 2:00 - no one ever told me that I had an appointment at this location or any other. So I returned at 2:00. I had to wait 35 minutes to be seen by anyone. The lady who told me "no appointments" was working at the front desk. I was told her name is Terry. She was also very rude. After visiting two of their locations I finally found one that even had an X ray tech on staff. I made an appointment and waited for over an hour and half while watching every single person before and after me get taken back. On top of this I will now be paying even more for parking becuase of how long I had to be at this location and they don't validate. The x ray tech was very nice but Absolutely will not be returning to any ARA for imaging in the future. read more

The techs who perform the imaging here have always been professional and sometimes very friendly. I've been here more than once, so this has always been appreciated. So long as you provide your insurance or other medical coverage type information prior to your visit, things go very smoothly at check in as well. There's adequate space in the waiting room to separate yourself from others too. read more

Wish I could rate them with a zero. Scheduling gave us an appointment for a stat order in 4 days and it was for the wrong side of the body. When we were finally able to get an appointment the next day. The insurance approval process for a STAT order took 2 days. The surgeons office already recieved approval for the STAT MRI and now we are waiting on a Friday night 2 days after the injury for them to find the insurance approval so we can get our STAT MRI. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

My mother had an MRI at ARA Medical Park Tower. The quality of care was good; however the technician did not ask her to remove her hearing aids despite having completed the medical history specifying that she wore hearing aids. What good is completing the paperwork if they aren't going to read it??!!! Now her hearing aids are not functioning-totally dead. Not sure if they can be replaced. She's 90 years old and shouldn't be responsible for knowing to remove them. read more

My 85 year old mother, with mobility issues, had two appointments scheduled for today at 5pm that required her to fast all day. I took off of work and took her to the appointments. When we got there an unsympathetic front desk person asked us if we had gotten the text. I looked on my mom's phone and saw on a text that they cancelled her appointment at 3:11pm without a specific reason. The front desk women was terse and unapologetic and told me that they did not have the staff to administer the dye. In the future, a little kindness would go a long way. Like many others, would give this 0 stars if it was possible. It's amazing to me that, with such a simple, transactional service business, they can be so inept, and so apathetic. Today, I arrived for my visit to be told, by a manic front-desk technician that wouldn't let me speak, that they "didn't have the orders to do the procedure." The tech that I then spoke with told me "this happens all the time." They knew what I was supposed to have done, had seemingly spoken with my doctor about it, and had scheduled and confirmed; I had double-confirmed the appointment; they had three weeks to figure out that they didn't have what they needed. So, now I get to reschedule not just the appointment, but the various appointments, including surgery, that depend on the results of this procedure. Looking forward to the generic cut and paste response that their social media team seems to write for every single review: "We appreciate your feedback and regret that your recent experience did not meet your expectations. Please know that we always strive for excellence in patient care. Our Service Excellence Team would like to hear from you so we can address your concerns. Please call us at (512) 795-5100, Ext. 5450" It's a strange model, to offer garbage service and then ask the patient to call you when it doesn't work well. Went in for simple lab work. No one works the front desk. Not a sign of anyone there. Waited for a good bit then gave up and left. Never saw anyone. No one asked what I needed done. I had an MRI done there today. The staff is super friendly, helpful and try to put you at ease if you are claustrophobic. I felt I was in good hands and from the front desk to the technicians, everyone was very helpful. This is very comforting when you are worried about a health condition. I commend them for a job well done. They looked out for my safety and had my back and I consider them one of the best medical teams in Austin. read more

We went to Manor office, but there is no separate listing, so I am posting here. My complaint is with the centralized billing (for this multi-location business). Also based on additional prior experience with this business. This business uses predatory, manipulative, and unethical billing practices! They pressure you to pre-pay "in case your insurance doesn't cover", but then they don't bother to file claims (despite being asked to do so). They apply your payments to whatever is convenient for them (not what you originally were told you were paying for, not what your insurance might cover). They have terrible phone support for billing issues, lose or ignore infomation from calls (and claim that they do not have call transcripts), and mainly keep trying to get you to pay *something*. And finally, they send your bill to collections too quickly (not enough time for what it usually takes to made through insurance paperwork, etc.). read more

Efficient checkin process, online and in-person. The crew from front to techs were kind, friendly, thoughtful and professional. They verified everything verbally and made the experience pleasant. I've never had a more smooth healthcare experience. Kudos to ARA and this location. As a referring doc I can tell you they have the best radiologist. They are helpful in every way possible when trying to take care of our patients. The image quality and reads are far above anything else in Travis or surrounding counties. read more

My scheduling experience was great with ARA. I had to reschedule twice because my doctor did not send the right order to them. An associate from ARA called the morning of my appointment to let me know before I had the chance to drive all the way downtown for no reason. Both times I scheduled, I was treated with kindness. When I arrived at the office, everyone was very nice and made me feel comfortable when I was nervous. I was scheduled for an ultrasound and a MRI yesterday. I was greeted by the ultrasound technician asking me why I was having this exam, I told him my Doctor ordered it and he was annoyed because he didn't think I needed it. He also had called the Doctors office and they told him I needed it. It made me uncomfortable as I was there because my Doctor wanted it and as he has not been to medical school what gives him the right not only to question the Doctor but also to ask me why I was there. ARA very bad on phone interface. Although recommended by a doctor for a bone density scan, had to call four times--twice because once I got through the 15-20 minute wait I was told the machines were down here and at the 901 W. 38th location as well. I had to call back each time with long delays (even after being transferred by the one person I was scheduling with). The company seems to think that their time is more important than their patients' time. Consistent with what I've seen of reports of their ownership structure and their employee satisfaction. Use another company if possible. read more

So even though there was some short-term friction and a misunderstanding, ARA made it right. And I never had an issue with the MRI itself. That went great. Austin Needs Another Imaging Company Instead of This Incompetent Monopoly! -took three (3) different tries to get an IV inserted correctly for an MRI procedure, and I have very good veins - incompetent techs -their radiologist misread my imaging and had to do an "addendum" - incompetent radiologist -promised to send MRI results to a major world-class medical facility, but it took me four (4) attempts to get the images sent - incompetent records department -logged three (3) calls today to speak with a supervisor, but calls were not returned - incompetent management Unfortunately, ARA dominates the imaging market in Austin, but these totally incompetent bozos should be out of business!!!! read more

I came here for an imaging procedure. At checkin, the ARA front desk person ran my insurance card and then told me I owed $250 for the procedure. I gave her my credit card, and she ran it. I had the imaging procedure, and it was okay (office was pretty dingy, but the person doing the procedure seemed competent enough). However, when I then later logged into my insurance web portal, I saw that it was the INSURANCE that was supposed to cover the $250, and not me. The ARA front desk person would have known this when she ran my insurance card... So why in the world was I asked to pre-pay for my insurance provider's portion of the bill??? My insurance was charged for and paid the $250 a week after my imaging procedure. However, it took me almost two months before I was issued a refund from ARA for $250. I have had multiple medical tests and imaging studies over the years, and I've never been asked to pre-pay for my insurance's portion of the bill. This is a pretty shady billing practice, and I will avoid this imaging center in the future. read more

I had to get a MRI. I hate MRI tests mostly because I am allergic to the contrast dye and claustrophobic.I let the folks at ARA know this in advance and can't say enough nice things about my experience there. I was running late getting there because traffic on Mopac sucked as usual. I called to let them know I was running late and they were super nice about it. I got there, checked in, filled out my paperwork, and was quickly called back by Adam by awesome EMT. Adam was GREAT and got me all set up and explained to me and my boyfriend the process and what would happen. Because I needed sedated I had to be there longer both before and after. But I was made comfortable and frequently checked in. Sara was my tech for the actual MRI. Because it was a breast MRI I was glad that I had a female tech even though they took care to make sure I wasn't uncovered or exposed. She explained every thing that would happen during the process and it took less time that I thought it would. Adam called the day after to follow up to see if I had any questions or issues. Unfortunately I still had an allergic reaction to the contrast dye (even on medication) so more than likely can't have another MRI here (since it would need to be done in a hospital). But if I did need one and could have it done here I would. read more

This location is understaffed and the receptionists working Tuesday night, oct 26th, we're especially rude. They didn't disclose information like it could be a 2 hour wait. They told my 75 year old father that he was "next" upon checking in. An hour later... They also weren't professional or courteous to a woman patient who needed assistance. read more

I had an appointment to have a CT scan done. I was told that the staff and patients were required to use a mask. When I was admitted to the CDscan room, there were 2 people with masks pulled down. When I complained about it, I was given an argument about how I was further than 6' from either of the non-mask people so there was no problem, and both were vaccinted. I pointed out that 6' is a suggestion but that virus aeresols were transmitted far beyond the suggested 6' and that one of the the maskless persons was seated by the door so that would require walking within 3' of the person. Then I was told that the person was drinking water and suggested that I was preventing him from drinking water. He could drink somewhere else, or at least put his mask on after drinking. By that arguement, he could drink for an hour without a mask. Did not feel safe. The room was filled with unfiltered air. I was ready to walk out without the proceedure. I was already in a gown so I continued with it. Will not return there. Other than that, the intake staff were very nice and efficient. read more

I visit this institution for CT Scan that was about lung amboli. I was told by doctor office that the scan is approved by my insurance. When I came for scan the receptionist requested copay $60 (which was 10% of the proceder price). Then the receptionist asked for my signature that I take responsibility for $1100 (full price is $600). When I asked what can stop ARA from sending me a bill for $1100, they would not answer. I did not want to take this risk, so I left without scan. Beware of the documents you are required to sign!!! read more

Maybe in cahoots with some doctors. The cardiologist's office had a CT SCAN special for $49.95 at ARA, but I was charged over $500. for a very similar procedure the same day. On February 20, 2020 I arrived at 08:45 am for scheduled 09:20 am appt. At 09:45 I told staff member my appt was 09:20. At 10 am the MRI was started, during the MRI I was informed that the machine had to be rebooted, 10:15 I was taken out of the MRI machine and told they had to call technician. I waisted 2 hrs of my day, no MRI. I called ARA corporate office Lilian at Service Excellence addressed all my concerns and ARA took care of this issue and rescheduled my MRI at Cedar Park. I have gone to ARA at Wilson Park and Cedar Park for a long time and they have been fantastic, excellent service. I returned to ARA Cedar Park on 03/13/20 where my service was excellent. read more

The medical staff and procedure were fine - professional and efficient. My problem was billing. I have an excellent PPO and I was quoted over $530 for a CT scan. I was shocked. I paid for it, wanting to get it over with. I got a letter over a month later (dated a week before I actually received it) stating I would have a full refund to my credit card. I did indeed receive the credit. Well, I was relieved, but I don't know why the insurance people didn't do their jobs before I showed up. There was plenty of time before the appointment to verify my insurance. I was fortunate to be able to pay it then and there. Not everyone would have had that opportunity. read more

I had the worst experience of my life at the radiology center located in the Medical Park Tower, 1301 W. 38th street. I was asked to arrive at 9.50 for a 10.20 appointment, but they didn't call me in till 11.10. Two technicians then poked me thrice to start an IV. All three pokes left bruises. While on the MRI table, they started the IV dye and it began leaking out. So they stopped the procedure and asked me to reschedule and come back again. This was at 12.15. I later learned that the dye was not even necessary. They would not return my parking fees that I had paid while I was waiting to be called in. As I said, this was the worst experience of my life and I am not going back there again read more

There were vending machines on the garage level which was nice as the shop had just closed. I overheard a senior get a discount sticker for parking. My parking was only $2. Went in for procedure, the tech seemed basically trying to get me in and out as fast as possible. I later learned that the company runs on a numbers game not really a medical one. There seems to be a rule that no patient can be there more than 15 minutes, this I heard from some of their many former techs. I am not qualified to judge the results of the test but I never felt that my problem was being addressed at all. The center of their business is the money scam, they charged my insurance then I get hundreds of dollars in bills for the few minutes of actually service.Using the fact that they are the major game in town they seem to mostly about billing you as much as possible.Make sure you got the money because that's what its all about at ARA read more

Scheduling is a nightmare at ARA. I was initially scheduled for a breast MRI and was not told that this procedure needed to be scheduled between 7-14 days after the first day of my most recent period. I showed up for my appointment and was told I could not do the procedure that day due to my period schedule. I later rescheduled the appointment, and also needed an MRI of my foot on the same day. The foot MRI was scheduled at 12:20pm and the breast MRI was around 6pm. I asked if the two appointments could be close together so i could do them during the same visit there, but was told that they did not have any appointments that close together on the same day. I got a confirmation text for the foot MRI but not the breast one. I also received a call for each where they happily told me how much money I owed up front, out of pocket for each procedure. I happened to call ARA the day before both exams to see if I could move the foot appointment to the evening. I was then told that my breast MRI had been moved from 6pm to 1pm and I was NEVER notified of this change. No one mentioned this major change in time when they called to tell me how much I would owe. To make it worse, my original 6pm appointment had been given away to someone else so now it was not even an option for me. I had to still go at 12:00pm for my foot and was then bumped pushed back to 7:30pm do to the breast MRI. Scheduling is an absolute joke and I would never recommend anyone rely on ARA for their imaging appointments. How do they expect for anyone to be okay with moving an appointment up by 5 hours with no notice or confirmation?? This is the worst scheduling I have ever experienced.
