I come here because, well I prefer ARA to the imaging places in San Antonio and this is the closest one to SA. Easy scheduling, compassionate and caring staff, and clean facilities. I appreciate the nice ambient lighting and calming vibe in the mammography area. But, boy, do they get busy. I have been to ARA for quite a few tests over the last 9 months or so, at multiple locations around Austin. Everyone has always been very kind when I've gone. I even had to get a scan done at the same time my 11yo had X-rays, and it was a smooth process. I will say this...their scheduling is a nightmare, especially if it's for something you can't schedule online. You can wait up to an hour to speak to someone. I've also requested call backs and have not gotten them. Would be nice if each location had their own scheduling and number. read more

I have not used ARA in many years, but in trying to schedule an appointment, Philp made sure I would not ever use them again. ARA has a culture problem when it comes to billing patients. It seems to me that it is more about training - poor training - and NOT at all on the people themselves. Also, the imaging techicians / staff are 5 star: outstanding! What I don't like, is being treated like I'm trying to cheat them out of money when it seems like it is the other way around. I had to contact my insurance company, that chat is attached. When you're in the middle of a medical event requiring a "STAT" CT or other image, why on earth would they add to the stress by insisting on collecting money when I clearly, confirmed with my insurance company, owe nothing because it is covered at 100%. DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT get an X-ray done at ARA. If your insurance doesn't pay them on time or on their schedule, they IMMEDIATELY send you to collections and put a mark on your credit. This is the ONLY company that does this and its over a $50 bill. I am a disabled veteran forced to use their services because it's in my oncologist's building. He requires me to get the X-ray before the appointment. When the VA doesn't pay them on time, they send disabled veteran's bills to collections. A TOTAL DISGRACE. They need an option for 0 stars for this. You serve your country and you get shat on by the healthcare system. UPDATE: After I wrote this review, my bill magically disappeared into thin air. I wonder if they decided to go back to hounding the VA for payment? I'm not sure, but I hope it doesn't come back to haunt me in some way. read more

Had a tough time finding the building (not familiar with the area). Finally found it but was 20 minutes late. The receptionist called back to see if they would see me, and they said yes. I didn't even sit down before I was called back to have my scan done. The young lady that took me back explained what I needed to do and then left. She came back in and did the scan in no time! I was very impressed with her professionalism and kindness, she also helped me put my necklace back on!! I will advise my doctor to send me back here if I need any other imagining done. :) read more

Everyone here is pleasant and helpful and the facility is clean. Sometimes the wait is inexplicably long. If they have had to fit in an emergency type patient I would understand but they never say. My son has to come here pretty often as he has many problems. No one seems to know us from one visit to the next and staff changes frequently. All in all, I still like the place. read more

if i could give zero stars I would. I have been here once before and the place in san marcos is filled with the rudest people I have ever delt with in the medical field. Today I called the san marcos office because that is where my dr wanted me to go get an MRI. I called to schedule and the woman on the phone seemed like I was bothering her by asking to make an appointment. Then she had a fit about me not having my new medicare number and was very rude and condicending telling me how if i did not get it to her by the appointment I would not be able to get it done. The woman knew I was driving at the time and I told her I would call her with it latter and she insisted on telling me that 3 times speaking with me as if I was a child. Then 2 hours later after I decided not to schedule with ARA and go with a company that wants my buisness which an MRI is not cheap you would think they would want to make that money, I get a call from ARA and its not even a REAL PERSON its a automated machine. How hard is it to have a person call to schedule an appointment. I have never been robo called by a medical person trying to earm my business. Sure I have for reminders and such but never to schedule an appointment by someone who knows there are 20 other places I could go. Called them early morning to see if it was possible to Change appts. From thursday to today. The woman at the front desk made it happen. The check in was quick and the wait was nothing. The doctors weren't as friendly as you would really like but get the job done. Overall great experience and quick service. read more
