    Chicken Kabsa 15 euros
    Arshad H.

I stopped by Arabia as I was craving Mediterranean cuisine. Looking at the menu online, this place had just about every Lebanese dish one could imagine. The inside has plenty of seating, as well as a downstairs area. My group ordered several dishes to share: Chicken kabsa, kafta kabobs, and fayayer zatar with cheese. Fatayer zatar with cheese (5.50 euros) - This consisted of 3 overcooked tiny breads with zaatar and cheese. The zatar taste was off, and it wasn on one side, and the cheese was on the other side of the bread. It was a huge disappointment and didn't taste like any of the ones I had back home in the US. Chicken Kabsa (15 euros) - This tasted just like the chicken kabsa I make, which means it tastes pretty good. :P The only difference is that when I make it, the chicken (fall off the bone) and rice are made together and not separated. The dish itself is highly aromatic, and I use at least 10 different spices, I imagine they do so here as well. Kafta kabobs (12 euros) - The kababs were juicy and flavorful. It was my favorite dish out of all the items I ate. I was a little surprised that the dish came with plain rice instead of Lebanese rice. Chicken and Hummus (9.50 euros) - The hummus had a good consistency and went well with the freshly baked pita bread that they provided. However the chicken pieces weren't as juicy and tender as chicken gyro meat. Not sure why they went with chunks of chicken instead of thinly sliced gyro meat. Overall, this isn't a bad spot to go if one is craving Lebanese food. The food is ok, as is their pricing. Their menu is extremely extensive and had everything that one could imagine. All the food served here is halal.

    Freshly baked pita

Not sure if the same place we ate, though, the interiors look similar. The hummus and falafel were ordinary or like usual. But their maklube vegetal was exceptional. The pita was freshly baked as well. If we haven't eaten maklube vegetal we wouldn't have known the true food here, which is delicious. The maklube vegetal is like vegetable pulao or biryani where sweetness of vegetables and nuts elevated the whole dish. I wish I could take back the recipe along with the experience of its flavors. The service is polite and the place looks clean.

    the Bandeja Variada

We have been enjoying Spanish food all week and were craving something different. Discovered Arabia. Ordered the Bandeja Variada for 2, a specialty, for $50 Euro. It was wonderful. Mixed grilled meat, hummus, tahini, salad, etc. was delicious.

We had planned to go to a tapas place recommended by our Gaudi House tour guide (Touring Pandas…read moreguide Jekaterina who was EXCELLENT) but the joint had a line of 20+...so we chose to go to my plan B! We were happy to enter the cozy La Alcoba Azul and seated by a smiling host immediately & presented with menus. The interior looks almost like a wine cellar with brick vaulted ceilings. The offerings are best described as fusion tapas but there are a few traditional bites as well. Our waiter presented us with an amuse bouché of pumpkin hummus topped with roasted pepitas on an herbed toasted baguette crisp. DELICIOUS! We confidently ordered the tomato tartare with avocado cream, basil, olive powder and rosemary olive oil caviar as well as a half order of cured Iberican meats featuring chorizo, loin, sausage and ham, an order of the hummus with black olives, parsley, pine nuts and pita triangles. All were terrific! We especially enjoyed the meats and tomato tartare. I enjoyed a red sangria that was satisfying and happened to be topped with cinnamon...a first and welcome addition for me. La Alcoba Azul is a spot we'll keep on our tapas go to list! You shouldn't hesitate to visit.

Everything was just so so, nothing memorable or tasty. The rose had one option and was not good. Pass on that. Service was wonderful. We went around 5:30p and there was no wait.

My Greek salad was very authentic and was as good as any salad I had while I lived in Greece. Very fresh vegetables, great Feta and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp scampi under the Tapas menu with garlic was equally good and oh so tasty. The smallish inside restaurant is best described as rustic and a tad warm. Instead I opted for the outside dining area, which has just a few tables but offered a very pleasant ambiance in the small side street this business is located on with low foot traffic and a very nice breeze on the warm day I dined here. The relaxed dining on the outside is definitely the way to go here especially during the summer months. From a negative standpoint, certain aspects of the service were too slow. I was seated pretty quickly upon arrival but I waited a tad bit too long to get my order in. Once ordered though, the food came pretty quickly on a positive note. However, for all intents and purposes the service stopped at that point where I had no follow up and literally had to walk inside the business to get my bill. Overall, the dining experience was still great for me slow service aside as the quality of the food and outdoor ambiance far outweighed the negatives. I would say if you are in a bit of there rush you may want to look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a relaxing dining experience with great food than this business will be definitely fit the bill!
