No trip to flagstaff is complete without a visit to crystal magic!…read more So many beautiful and fun things to look at. Great ideas for gifts! We brought our four year old daughter here and she absolutely loved it. We have a tradition of buying a new Christmas ornament each year and made that annual purchase here this year. We got locally 3-d printed ones that are beautiful. Always a good time! Nice staff too. Next time we're in flag, we'll be back!

So, my daughter and I are driving through Flagstaff while on a mini-vacation, and all of the sudden…read moreI hear her say "OMG...we have to go to that store!" Of course, she was referring to Crystal Magic, in downtown Flagstaff (Arizona), on the corner of San Francisco Street and Route 66. Admittedly, I was not interested in coming here. But, I could tell that coming here would really make my daughter happy, so in we went. And, as disinterested as I was in coming here, I actually enjoyed looking around this store with my daughter. I think most of the people who come here do so because they believe in feelings or energy that emanates from objects, like rocks. To me, this sounds silly; but having the scientific mind that I do, I did get a lot of enjoyment out of the geological beauty of the items for sale here. Just imagining the incredible physical and chemical processes that produced these beautiful earth-made objects amazes me, along with how beautiful they can be. Looking around in this store was a real treat. It is not only incredibly well organized, but there is also something beautiful to look at in every direction. The owners here must have over a million dollars worth of items for sale here, all packed within this store. They obviously sell several types of precious crystals in multiple forms, but they also sell incense, candles, books, journals, wind chimes, and several other items. I was also pleased with the staff here, who were friendly and professional during my visit. If you're even a little interested in these types of things, Crystal Magic is a great place to shop. You should definitely check this store out if you're in the area. But if you do like the types of things sold here, and you do come inside, be prepared to drop some serious cash. They have a lot of great items for sale.

Spring 2026 student here. I rented a textbook from the NAU Bookstore in January and had already…read morepaid about $94 for the rental. The book was due May 11, but I needed the SAME book for my Summer semester that started immediately after Spring finals ended on May 8. Before the due date, I repeatedly called the phone number listed on the bookstore emails and rental receipt to ask about extending or re-renting the book. No answer. Yesterday, I found out there was another number for the NAU bookstore. With that number, I finally reached someone, Shaun (supervisor). I explained the entire situation. I also mentioned that I had multiple assignments due on Sunday, 5/24, including two papers, while balancing an internship, three children, and a full-time student status. Shaun, the supervisor, repeatedly told me the ONLY option was to send the book back so it could arrive by Tuesday, 5/26, so I could get a refund and then rent it again afterward. I explained several times that I could not return the book because I actively needed it for current coursework and had been trying to contact them BEFORE the due date. I asked to speak to someone above him, and he said it would be the marketing manager and that he wouldn't be able to do much for me. Instead of acknowledging the bookstore's outdated contact information or making a reasonable exception, I was charged $152.67 plus an additional fee, bringing the total to $266.34 for a rented textbook. What made the situation even more frustrating was being told I should have Googled or looked somewhere else for the number. I looked it up and found the same outdated number listed in the bookstore emails: 928-523-4041. But I mostly relied on the information in the emails that they sent. Students should not be penalized for relying on the official contact information provided by the university. I'm posting this so other students are aware: the contact numbers provided in NAU Bookstore emails may not work, and if you rely on them, you may still be penalized. Students already balancing school, work, internships, and families deserve better communication and customer service than this.
