I visited in September 2019 while on an Arizona (Grand Canyon) trip with my friend. We stayed in the city of Flagstaff so on a Friday after breakfast, we took an hour to explore downtown Flagstaff. My friend Melanie wanted to look for small gems (or Crystals?) for her boyfriend so we stopped into the store. INSIDE - this is a cool store with all sorts of ornament looking things. They sell pottery, jewelry, natural hair and skin products, carvings, herbs, spices, and tea. My friend bought a small elephant shaped stone thing for her boyfriend. I don't know the exact name for it but it looked cool. I ended up buying a small packet of loose leaf ginger tea with a tea sifter. The tea didn't taste good and it wasn't as strong as I would have liked. I love that the big paintings and stone carvings are made by local artists. SERVICE - Service was warm and pleasant. The young man who helped us while inside was nice. this places I calming, kind, and one of a kind. Jazly and Sun were something else. I felt honored to be in there with these 2 knowledgeable gorgeous souls. I got a new ring that is beautiful!!!! I got a gift for a kind soul that helped me in getting up the mountain this hand carved stone bear. and a local artist made this beautiful thank you card for said kind soul. I felt welcomed. and I LOVE Harry! he's pretty much the best. I will come back to this store again and again. I am so beyond lucky to have had that interaction with such kind people and helpful. the universe led me to this store its a little hidden BUT DONT WANT PAST! stop in and see these ladies and their amazing selection of terrific goodies. I love the store it's self and has amazing prices, however I don't like how uncomfortable the staff makes me feel. I feel like whenever I ask for more than just a couple herbs the lady up front gets annoyed (because you aren't able to scoop them yourselves) and just becomes very passive aggressive which is really sad bc I want to feel comfortable in a store that I love so much, also gets annoyed when you ask questions and answers them in a way to make you feel like she thought it was a dumb question. Winter Sun is amazing. They've got a wide selection of herbal tinctures and teas and salves and spices that are carefully wildcrafted by local herbalists. There are creams and sunscreens and lotions for people looking for .There's a ton of gorgeous Native American art and jewelry made by local Navajo and Hopi artists. Winter Sun is a gem of a trading spot! I visited Flagstaff at least 5 years ago and browsed through this shop and on my way through town again recently I searched high and low to find it again. Only to find out they have been open for decades! Their jewelry and native artwork is absolutely beautiful and unique. The have great beauty products - including Super Salve products... which was my original draw the last trip. This one of my favorite stores of all time. I stop here every year on my way to visit family in Prescott. They have an amazing selection of jewelry and herbs. The staff is competent and kind. The older gentleman in the front room is very knowledgeable about the jewelry, and helped me purchase a turquoise ring last year. Nobody's reviewed this shop yet?!? Well please, allow me. Everytime I'm up in Flagstaff I end up stopping in here. From the outside, it simply looks like your run-of-the mill little boutique-ish place with fetish (as in Native American, not S&M) jewelry, turquoise, and sterling. But they've got some nice original art prints, unique postcards, all-natural cosmetics and toiletries inside, as well as a huge selection of herbs and teas in the back. Apparently the owner is an herbalist and can make or recommend concoctions for your every ill, or so it seemed as I eavesdropped into the conversation she was having with another customer one day. Her daughters make a line of skincare (Sister Creations) which is all-natural and organic. I use their facewash and dig it quite a bit, 'cause it makes my skin feel happy and non-oily afterwards, without harsh substances. I have literally been coming here all my life. Born and raised in Flagstaff, when I got sick as a kid my mom would head to Phyllis for tinctures, teas and herbal remedies. I have memories as a child standing in Winter Sun, staring up at Phyllis' long braid as my mom shopped. This place is a true fountain of knowledge. Needless to say, when I am in Flagstaff this is the only place I go to get the goodies I need. The entire staff is fantastic and I appreciate all that they have helped me with and therefore taught me in the process over the years. I went into Winter Sun after a 2nd bout with a nasty sore throat and a cough that wouldn't go away. My doctor said it had developed into an upper respiratory infection/bronchitis, and wanted to give me more antibiotics. Instead, I purchased frankincense and myrrh resin (yes, this is what the wise men took to the Christ child), and was instructed by Winter Sun employees to inhale the smoke after lighting the resin within a small charcoal cup. Not only did it clear up my URI, but it has never returned after several months. When traveling on a recent plane trip, and waiting in the airport for several hours, the sore throat returned. I have a small bottle of frankincense and myrrh essential oils mixed with water which I now always carry with me when going out into public places. Spraying it on my hands and sniffing a little into my nostrils, the sore throat went away. My 2nd trip into Winter Sun, I asked if they had anything for the nasty flu because several friends had come down with it, and I was concerned. They introduced me to Thieves which consists of essential oils which you mix with water. Thieves essential oils were used in the 15th century to fight the bubonic plague; read about it on Google! Needless to say, I have not gotten the flu even though being around those infected. I cannot overemphasize my belief in the herbs and essential oils that Winter Sun offers. Phyllis has reportedly been in business for 42 years, has traveled the world, and is most knowledgeable regarding the ancient way to cure oneself. The Thieves offered by Winter Sun is her own special mixture of oils. Another account is that my friend was in great pain from kidney stones last week even though she had surgery at FMC to remove them last month. I stopped into Winter Sun, and they put together a mixture of 5 different essential oils, and asked that she put the drops into a bladder tea that they offer. They warned that passing the stones would still hurt, but that this tincture would hopefully lessen the pain. In less than 8 hours, my friend stated that her urine was stained brown, and was difficult to clean the resin from the toilet bowl. She later realized that the "resin" was dissolved kidney stones. She said there was no pain, and she continues to drink the bladder tea because she no longer has "frequent" urination. So needless to say, I give Winter Sun and their expertise the highest rating, and feel very lucky to have such an unbelievable resource here in Flagstaff. Patty read more

Ummm....Mimosa Blossom Dream Cream is my new favorite thing. I have used everything from Crem de la Mer to generic oil of olay, but this Mimosa cream is fab. The move to Flag has sucked every bit of moisture out of my face and this has fixed it. It smells divine and is totally affordable as well. Great prices on essential oils and carrier oils. I'm a local, and there is no better place to fill your herbal needs - whether you are pregnant, looking to get something for your child, etc. Winter Sun is the best place to go. Phyllis and the other ladies are incredibly helpful, and they definitely have a local following because their stuff works. Love that place. Add to that their all natural creams, lotions, sun screens, etc., and you have a gem in the local business market. We stopped in here at the beginning of June. I think maybe at first the man helping us didn't think we were going to spend any money, because when we said we were looking for gifts for friends, and had a budget of $X, he didn't seem that interested in helping. However, then we kept piling stuff on that we wanted to get for *ourselves*, and he perked up. They have a lovely selection of Kachina dolls, baskets, and jewelry, as well as all kinds of herbal items.
