Came February 17th at 1pm. Not one customer in the whole building, only workers. No one sitting in the many chairs waiting for services. 3 different people including myself were turned away even tho agents behind the desk were unoccupied, and we all were told to make an appointment online. I was out of town and my paper plates expired, could not locate any of the words "expired temporary/paper plates expired/renewal" online via the website, so I walked in to be helped. The lady at the front desk helped me find the correct area online and the next available appointment is March 2ed...13 days away. You use be able to sacrifice 2 to 3 hours waiting in line and get everything done that you needed to get done at this DMV, now instead of 2-3 hours it's a week to 2 week wait. How is this an improvement with the mandatory online scheduling versus walk in appointments? Edited for spelling read more

I went got my emissions stop at King's Soopers people in rush so I wàlk in this( beautiful young lady Shaniquah) I asked if some one could help me with the machine and she stop what she was doing walked down to kiosk and helped me I was back home before 10:15 am I always have the best experience at this location and it's all about the positive attitude and a smile go in angry it only brings but negativity and positive attitude and a smile people go above and beyond and she did just that and I like to tell her thank you she had a nice smile and nice personality and like I said I always have nothing but positivity when I come into this location read more

A mixed bag this review will be, Every since the Covid Pandemic everything DMV wise shifted online, or at least they tried to shift everything online, but when your registration renewal requires you to submit documentation such as proof of insurance or emission testing, thats where the breakdown of the online process occurs and since the DMV does not serve registration in office, you must constantly play phone and email tag scanning, submitting and verifying that these documents have been received. But when I was given the chance to pick my renewed documentation up at the main branch, that was pleasant and hassle free. Went here for a quick painless visit to get my registration and plates. You have to take a ticket and it will say when you'll be called on. The times are very accurate and allows you to go do other things. Mine was an hour even on a slow Tuesday. Go early and be prepared with all your documents. They can be found online. The staff was very nice and easy going. It was clean and well staffed. Nice televisions, and a security guard. They even took off my late fee. Thanks guys and gals! read more

It"s the DMV, how great can it be? This particular day the renewals line had more people in it then the gallery waiting for more extensive transactions. What was nice is that they started to put more people over in renewals for quick transactions. I have had to spend a lot of time recently at the DVM for plates, title work, renewals and just general things you deal with in an estate. I will say the people there have to deal with a lot and are generally helpful I do like the fact that you are not sent someplace to get documents notorized, they are notaries and they will do it there for you. They also gave me some good information on things I had never done before to ensure the sale of my husbands truck went off with out a hitch. I had no idea that emissions is the responsibility of the seller of a vehicle in CO. Customer service is a hard job to have, I really think this location does the best they can, like going to the dentist.. most people don't like the DMV. read more

Let's make this review as objective as possible (review and experience as of 17 July 2019): Assumption: 1. The DMV is always slow. Observation: 1. The SERVICE is FAST. There are 20+ service windows with most of them staffed. HOWEVER, there are a TON of people that go here, which is why the wait is so long. I walked in without an appointment and grabbed a ticket. My wait time was estimated 60-75 minutes, so I left and came back an hour later. I was finally seen after 80 minutes, after which my paperwork was done in 10-15 minutes. Assumption: 2. The staff is not efficient. Observation: 2. The staff works QUICKLY. They are not only fully staffed, they also process lots of paperwork quickly. The ISSUE is that people aren't prepared or don't have the correct information. There was a gentlemen at the booth next to me that must have waited over an hour to be seen, only to get to the service desk to find out that he can't register his vehicle at that DMV because (FUN FACT:) in CO YOU CAN ONLY REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE IN THE COUNTY YOU LIVE IN. Of course, the gentlemen was frustrated, but that's not the staff's fault he was misinformed. Assumption: 3. The DMV is bad. Observation: 3. No, it's not bad. It does smell in some places. It does smell like sweat here and there. The seats are dirty here and there. HOWEVER, that's not the DMV's fault. There are tons of people coming from all over the place working in all different occupations which sometimes results in not the cleanest environments. BUT, they have PLENTY of seating, TVs EVERYWHERE to entertain the kids (and adults), they have vending machines, water fountains, and even a guy selling hotdogs outside the building. In summary: the wait is long, but the staff works quickly. Make sure you know what you need paperwork wise so you don't waste your time. Good experience overall. FUN FACT #2: they DON'T issue licenses here. You need to go to a separate office for that. read more

There wasn't really much of a waiting time for my appointment assuming because of the need to schedule them in advance...(which was really nice) Angel was SO helpful and very kind. #1 rule, go to https://www.colorado.gov/dmv and do your research before your grumpy ass steps foot in here. Half the people could do their renewals online rather than coming in. Me, on the other hand did not have that luxury because the DMV had to verify my VIN and all that crazy stuff for my car. Did you expect to be waited on hand and foot? Maybe you thought they handed out warm hand towels when you walked in? No you dolt, this is a retail space, not a restaurant. If you want it your way, go to Burger King. Do you really think the employees here are going at a turtle's pace just to piss you off? Well, possibly and I bet they are waiting for you to get so upset and leave. I don't think it works that way. They stay until the last person is helped. If you bring all the paperwork you need, the process goes by much smoother. The person who helped me was professional and courteous. He did explain to me earlier in the day, some guy went ape shit cause he didn't bring the required paperwork. His fault, not their's. Bring some music to listen to next time or have a buddy with you even. The people watching here is pretty cool if you can get past the screaming babies...I mean customers, then you'll be alright. They have an officer there and now I understand why. The bad customers just need to be tazed so business can continue on as usual. read more

Okay, we can just get this out of the way right off the bat...you are almost definitely going to have to wait to get services here. You might even have to wait for one to two hours. BUT, the nice thing is that they have people at the entrance next to the kiosks that will get you the right ticket based off of the service that you need and it will give you an estimated wait time on the ticket. They also have a great automated system that shows you exactly where your number is currently at in the waitlist. To be honest, the employees actually go through the numbers pretty dang quick, there just happens to be a lot of people so it takes a while. I went on a Wednesday morning around 11AM mid-month and it took 75 minutes until I got called over by an employee named Cynthia. She was awesome and was able to do a VIN verification, change in title, and registration all in about 10-15 minutes. If you go into this DMV already assuming it's going to take a long time then I think you will actually be pleased with the overall services. Plus, free wifi :) read more

I arrived at 6:45 am there were about 50 people in front of me. I thought to myself okay this is going to take forever. I was out by 7:15 am not pm! the staff was very helpful and they had over 20 employees working which made a difference. They had great attitudes. #Freakyfast. I have one piece of advice for anyone coming to the DMV: have all the stuff you need with you. 90% of the issues listed here and that I observed while waiting, are people (myself included) who don't have their stuff together. First time I went for a renewal, I had been away from the city for 5 years and forgot all about getting an emissions test. This was apparently a common problem, as the clerk's has pre-printed pads with the addresses of the three nearest emissions testing sites. Went and got my test and returned. This time I didn't have sufficient funds ready in my account. Both times, the clerks were more understanding and patient with me than I deserved. Even with having to leave and get the emissions done, I was clear in 3 hours. Second vechicle, went on monday after Thanksgiving (bad choice of timing), vary busy. Second piece of advice, doors close at 4pm. Anyone inside will be seen, regardless of how long it takes, but NO ONE enters after 4pm. Security takes this very seriously. Third piece of advice, when your number is called, be on the bounce to get to your window. They will only call you twice. With 23 windows and an automated take-a-number system, things progress pretty quickly (about 200 patrons per hour on my second trip). Final piece of advice, bring a book. Cell phone coverage is spotty within the building, and their WiFi seems to have issues. read more

I came here to get my vehicle registered in the state of Colorado, transferring from Washington State. My only complaint is the appalling wait time. Over two hours for vehicle registration is completely ridiculous! Only about half of the counter windows were occupied with employees and the rest were empty. Why weren't all of them filled so the process could go a lot faster? It seems inefficient and a waste of people's time to have to sit there for so long. Also, this is the only DMV I have ever been to where there hasn't been an automated system for calling up numbers. There was an actual person standing in the middle of the room calling them out and I could see there was a lot of errors going on because people couldn't hear her or she was going too quickly. Anyway, once it was finally my turn the process took all of about 10 minutes and I was out of there. The lady I worked with was great. Just need to improve the waiting time! read more

A good case of website incompetence. I went online for new plates to replace the temporary one. There was no link for regular plates but only specialized plates. When I entered the VIN and plate number, it said that I was not eligible for personalized plates online. I assume it was that an emission test is required. But then I went to appointment scheduling and vehicle plates are not even on the list! read more

This DMV was excellent! I got there at 7:20 am for new resident car registration and was out by 8am. There was a security guard at the front who was very helpful with selecting the right ticket for the queue. He even helped me sign up for voter registration right there and gave me the address of a quicker DMV to process my licence. The receptionist who processed my car registration was fast, efficient, clear communicator and very helpful. I was in and out of there in no time. read more

I got there a few minutes before my appointment and I was told that if I had an appointment, I had to wait in the line. The line was outside and had about 15 people in it. I have lived in many states, and this is by far the slowest DMV that I have encountered. They should allow the liscensed car dealers to dispense tags. Especially for new cars like many other states do, which would take a lot of strain off the DMV locations. I have purchased several cars here and have always spent hours every time waiting in line. No matter when you get here it is always the same. Not a great way for a state/county to treat its citizens! read more

It's the DMV, for goodness sake. This is about as good as it is going to get. It's a little hard to find but I found it. Hint: it's behind the strip mall. There's a long wait, but I cannot imagine it being any other way. They're as well staffed as they can be. And I am not saying they're friendly folk, but they do seem to want to move the line along as efficiently as possible. There's plenty of room to sit and wait while you... You know... Sit and wait. They do have the wait times listed on their website, which I think is great. At least you know how much reading material to bring. And the chairs are super uncomfortable. But the place is clean, including the bathrooms. And they have vending machines, although they are filled Pepsi products. Kim was the person who helped me and she was quite nice and happy for me, as I was very excited to be finally getting my Jeep all settled in as a Colorado resident. She did a VIN verification on the Jeep. It costs $12, but easy peasy, so I didn't mind the charge. However, Mike, the wanna be cop (yeah, that's right, Mike, when you're rude, people are rude back.), was kind of a jerk. He mentioned that I need new tires. I said, yes, I did. I mentioned the custody battle over the Jeep and the rough divorce and how I can finally take care of the Jeep, as the Jeep deserves to be taken care of. And I mentioned that we were off to the shop after I got it registered. Then Mike pointed out that I needed an alignment. Well, yeah, because the tires are shot. But okay, we will say Mike was being helpful, until he walked around to look at the other side and then he laughed. He laughed out loud, "Yeah, that's really messed up." And went on to scold me for it. You know what, Mike? Why don't you deal with whatever issue is keeping you from being a real police officer and I'll deal with my Jeep. But I am not going to let Mike put a damper on this wonderful moment. My Jeep is registered. And this afternoon, she will be going to the shop to get all spruced up. It's a very exciting day for me! Look, nobody ever leaves the DMV saying, "That was fun! Let's go on that ride again." But I have had way worse experiences. read more

First of all I would like to say that Angel and Sylvia have remarkable customer service. They are friendly and professional. On the other hand Claudia and Josie have the worst customer service ever. I was at Claudia's station and the entire time she and Josie were in a conversation with one another. This is extremely rude, your personal and private conversations need to come to an end when you are working with a customer. She was so deep in the conversation that she didn't even pay attention to detail to the document that I handed her, instead she told me it was incorrect. Interesting enough, Sylvia was able to use my document, because she was not distracted by having a conversation with her coworker. To Claudia and Josie, please learn from Angel and Sylvia on how to be professional! read more

Worst experience of my life. Im proud I didn't break anything. I went to get my license plate and they charged me $575 dollars. I wanted to pay with my credit card and they clearly didn't understand how to use the machine. I went ahead and tried the atm inside the building because the lady said she wouldn't wait for me to go to one outside the building. That atm didn't have money and I was only able to access $480. The lady kept telling everyone I had insufficient funds!!!! Which was really disrespectful. I got so pissed I went to the security guard and asked if it was okay for me to go to a different atm and come back She said yes. This would've solved my problem from the beginning. Even so, I was unable to withdraw anymore money because I had passed the limit of transactions. By this time they were closing so I ended up without a plate, without a new appointment, and stressed out. Bring cash money because it'll save you time and anxiety. read more

For as bad a trip to DMV can be, I have experienced worse. While there were 150 numbers ahead of me, these agents waste ZERO time clicking to the next number. If you're not Johnny at the rat hole as soon as you're called, you get skipped. this made the 150 people ahead of me only feel like 60. The average wait time this morning was 1hr. In my hour, 43 people were served with 12 open windows. That's a little over 1m30s per customer on average. Waiting an hour is still far too long for customer service even if it is the dMV- the wait time could be reduced if employees were encouraged to process more transactions and performance be related to pay... I've lived all over the United States and I can honestly say this is worst DMV I have ever been to. We waited hours for them to tell us they can't help us because it sprinkled for a few minutes outside. Then if I wanted to apply for my Purple Heart plate I would have to go almost an hour away to just give them a piece of paper then drive all the way back to have them say ok here you go. My daughter and I just had an amazing time at the DMV on Chambers. To begin, we checked in at 10 AM with a wait time of at least 40 minutes, but we were called after only 34 minutes. We needed to get an extension on my daughter's temporary plate due to a delay in receiving the title, and BRANDI MARTIN was incredible. She was friendly, helpful, and fun and enjoyed delightful conversation as we took care of business. We weren't exactly sure what we needed, and she went the extra mile to explain everything and even allowed my daughter to go out to her car to get the temporary registration and a photograph of the expired temporary plate. We weren't rushed or made to feel inadequate for our lack of knowledge. In addition, Brandi helped my daughter change the address on her driver's license, which she had tried to do previously without success. Well lets see, where do I start. The DMV is a god awful place to spend 1 hr of my day to register my motorcycle and obtain plates. The Kiosks SUCK and they are confusing to use as there is no option that says (register your vehicle. I got to the Chambers location at 0700 in the morning and there were 100 people already in line. I counted them!!!!!!!!!! I was #41 and I took he 1 hr to finally get called to the service counter. Not sure why they (The Colorado Department of motor vehicles changed system??????) But it sucks. What do you expect from a State Government run operation. All they want is your $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. They don't give a crap about customer service. Never have and they never will. :( read more
