Very charming and pleasant little store, I always really enjoy European markets perusing and appreciating all the neat inventory. Today is gift shopping: Quite good deals on some awesome Milka Max bars! Would most certainly recommend I also learned with the friendly attendants help after mentioning Austria that Austrian Mozartkugel and marzipan is available also, which is pretty cool. The worst experience ever. I used to shop at this store as it was close to my house. And so so many times I got products that were expired for days/months. I really think they need some inspection to provide safe services. I stop going there as another store opened very close by 2 minutes drive from them. The prices are less and the service is very good. I went to this store today because I was waiting for my car repairs close by. Regretted it thousand times. While shopping my child got one tiny chocolate and ate it without making a mess and anything.The cost i of it is coupe of cents(under 20 cents). The owner came around,as she is always intimidating customers by walking around them and watching what are customers buying which is extremely weird. And she was very rude about the fact that my child ate one chocolate of price of 20 cents(tend to indicate my child is with special needs). Omg I have never seen a person more rude and mean. Shame. The owner is very rude and moody. Would never ever go there. So many people complaining about the owner. Today got those proves. The other personnel is very friendly. read more

Meh, subpar quality and choices at much higher prices. Two cans out of three that we bought had expired 6 months ago. We called the store for a refund, they said that the product should be good for about a year after the expiration date. Oh really? Well, then maybe they should eat those products themselves. Very nice Russian deli on East Side. Owners are very friendly and always give you recommendations on the food items and even how to cook them. Since I moved to Kirkland - I always go there when I have cravings for some Russian flavors. I always find what I am looking for. Always helpful! This place is awesome! Living in Kirkland the closest Eastern European market is in Bellevue ....until this place opened up I think it was 5-6 years ago (based on when I first went there). The family that runs it is Russian but they are awesome! Being Romanian I need my fix of euro delicatessens from time to time and thanks to Arbat, it's a 2 minute drive away! :) They have everything from Russian candy to German pickles to Hungarian salami and Romanian wine. My brain and I are not in sync, I don't know how many places I've forgotten to review...this is one of them. I've been going to Arbat for some time now and I am never disappointed with the goods, selection or service. Always great c.s., which is saying a lot 'cos at some places people don't look you in the eye or even acknowledge your existence on the planet. Good thing the natural born jackasses are in the minority. They have quality cold cuts (deli meat), sausages, cheese, smoked fish, etc. Deli items are very cheap compared to grocery chain stores. Boar's Head deli meats can go as high as 18$ per lb., same variety different co. maybe $6 per lb. at Arbat. Taste much better too, try the mortadella. (Italian bologna only better) They make some deli salads on site and the potato salad was muy dobra! Loads of condiments, pickles, pates, tea, coffee, mixes, cookies and candies. The Russian chocolates are rich and reasonably priced. AND they have one of my favorites there as well...Poppyseed Bread. I'm glad I was born and raised in Chicago, as I was exposed to so many ethnic foods growing up.....poppyseed bread being one of them. I sometimes sit there in the front watching the Russian cartoons while Marina is helping others. No worries, I usually kill time there before going across the parking lot to Pho Express for lunch. (You know the place, where I hit the owner's daughter in the head with my cane...Whammoooo!) Purely accidental, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! Anywho, I sure digress sometimes, most of the time....now I forgot wth I was gonna type. Oh I got it! I don't know why the "Natural Foods" is in the name of the store, there may be some items that are organic/natural, but I can't read any of the labels...it's all Russian, Hungarian, Polish, etc. to me. :P Give them and Pho Express a try next time you're in the Totem Lake area. We love this place. I'm second generation Hungarian, my wife is first generation Russian. So many delicious things to choose from, a great meat and cheese counter, and all sorts of treats. You can find amazing egg noodles, unrefined sunflower oil, and any place that sells Finnish Lappi cheese (yes, it is a thing) is a great place in my book. The staff is bilingual, friendly, and there are just so many hard to find items from around the world. read more

Steer clear of this place. Terrible service multiple times. Unreasonably high prices, with the same products priced so much less in other Russian stores. The woman who owns the store is extremely rude and walks around the store watching customers who're shopping. You will see her approaching when you're there to control what items you pick and how you do it (even though she will pretend to do something else around). Made outraging comments about me and about somebody else in my presence. Can easily call you a name based on your nationality. If not for the Russian-speaking customers who're used to Soviet rudeness, I can't imagine how any reasonable person could tolerate such attitude. Will not return anymore. read more

The lady who owns the store can be moody and rude. Watch out for their chocolate candies, refrigerated food like cakes, milk products. Sometimes they are spoiled. Once I brought their bad farm cheese back, and the owner agreed to exchange it but I was left with the feeling that I did something wrong. read more

Very nice store. It is pretty big with one section having food and deli, and the other non-food items like books, pharmacy and souvenirs. The choice is pretty good and being familiar with Eastern European products, I definitely saw a good selection of products. The service was also very nice and friendly. read more

My favorite east side deli, I have been coming here for years. The deli meats are always fresh and a great variety. I will drive out of my way to buy my deli items from this market. And they have the best cream cheese ice cream bars. You have to try one. read more

I love this Russian store! People are always friendly, remember customers by name and know their taste. Never had a problem with freshness, once I got a chocolate bar and its best before date has passed, but lady at the register noticed it and exchanged it (even though I am not afraid of a slightly expired chocolate). I relocated to Bellevue but still go to ARBAT every week because of this family-friendly atmosphere and good quality products. read more

I've been shopping at this store for over 10 years. It has best Eastern European foods. That is what they purpose is and they do it well. I am from Eastern Europe myself so to me, this is going to a store where I can get products that are from "my country". If you are looking to find authentic Easter/Central European foods - yes, the store is for you. If you are looking for American service and do not know what you want - do not waste your time. This is a great Euro deii with a great selection of pastries, candy, drinks and sausages. The place is always clean and organized. They have a sorts of ice cream bars and pelmeni. I like to get my fix of Baltika here. Cool beans! read more

Since I moved to Kirkland 6 years ago I always come to this store for caviar and chocolate! Also I like some pickled vegetables and pretty much everything in that store is amazing! Good store and location-wise super convenient for my family to shop. We have been loyal customers for the last seven years. I mentioned and praised Arbat to many of my friends and colleagues. I've made purchases for business parties, etc., regardless of the expired food problem. But lately, what stops me personally from coming every week is the unfriendly and unprofessional attitude of the Lady of the House. Unneeded comments, unrequested opinions, not very polite verbal exchange that follows my questions to advice on the product. Perhaps, it's personal and has been going on for months.
