    Blue Heat Takis.

Adventuring to the Mucho Mas tienda by the Sno-King Ice Arena in Kirkland today, Thursday 7 December 2023, I was not sure what I was looking for exactly. There was some fruit inside the front entrance that reminded me of some of the items my family ate when feeling adventurous when I was growing up. My dad has been cooking latino food items for church of recent and likes spicy foods, so I decided to see if I could find something(s) he might like. A few of the sections piqued my interest such as the pickled vegetables and salsas. I also noted sections for fresh items including baked goods and a meat case. By the meat area, there were some Takis (tortilla chip brand) options available. A particular flavor caught my eye (Blue Heat with heat rated as extreme per packaging and the spice coming from hot chili peppers). I decided to go with two of the smaller bags, one for me to try and one for my dad. A friendly worker helped me at check out and greeted me when I entered the store. She thoughtfully asked me if I needed help finding anything when I was shopping. Payment was straightforward and my cash as payment method was accepted. Tasting the Takis when I got back to my car, I found them flavorful and crunchy (not stale). All around enjoyed my experience.

Always stocked with fresh essentials. Worth going out of our way even. Very friendly. Thank you

Sometimes a girl just needs a little horchata! I had been eyeing this spot for a while hoping it would have some great treasures inside, and I finally made it in when the horchata craving was reaching its limits (I used to get my fill at various Mexican restaurants but we haven't been going lately). Anyhow, this is a little shop with hot food, vegetables and fruit as well as lots of grocery items. I was happy to see things like nopales and, yes, even some horchata! This is even a little carniceria (butcher shop) and the meat did look pretty decent! There are maybe 20 or so pinatas on the ceiling as well and the prices aren't out of control. It's definitely worth checking out for a specialty item or just for some grocery items in a pinch. We had just eaten so we didn't order much hot food, but I really wanted to give something a try in here so we got a few tamales. They only had a few to choose from, but my husband REALLY enjoyed the chicken ones we had. They had a nice spicy kick to them and he appreciated that the filling wasn't smothered in tomatoes. All in all, this seems like an A-OK place to go for hot food, grocery items and specialty goods!

    Cool beans!

The gentleman running the store helped me find exactly what I needed and told me how to use it…read moreproperly when I had no idea how to proceed with a new recipe. Very pleasant and patient with me when I knew so little.

I'm honestly disappointed to write this review…read more I've been shopping at Goodies for about six months now. They sell dukkah (along with other condiments and seasonings) that are hard for me to find, which saves me the time of making them myself. I've also been buying my lamb from them. On July 3, I purchased two packs of lamb chops. One pack was perfectly fine, but the other was clearly spoiled. I still cooked the good pack, but it wasn't enough for everyone to have. I've been cooking lamb for years--I know how it should smell and how it should look. This meat was off. I called the next day to let them know, and they told me they would replace it. I explained that I live over an hour away, so I wouldn't be able to come back until I was in the area again. They assured me they would still honor the exchange. When I came in today, I was met with so much rudeness that I was honestly shocked. I felt embarrassed by the way I was treated. I had really enjoyed supporting this small business up until this point. Because I was so shaken by the interaction, I didn't even realize until I got home that I had originally purchased a six-pack of lamb chops, but I was only given a four-pack in exchange. When I returned the spoiled meat, the woman behind the counter insisted she would "never sell meat like that." I tried to show her the timestamped photo I had taken of the meat when I purchased it, but she refused to even look at it. At one point she said she "didn't know what my deal was," and then suggested it was somehow my refrigerator's fault before asking, rather dismissively, "Well, what do you want?" I'm a very understanding person. When you're selling raw meat, sometimes things happen. Products can spoil. I wasn't looking for an argument--I simply expected for the issue to be handled professionally and with kindness. Instead, I was treated as though I was trying to cause a problem. I'm sure many people will continue to shop here without issue. However, left feeling like I wasn't afforded the same courtesy or respect that other customers might have received. Maybe I would have been treated differently had I looked different. I can't say that for certain, but I also can't think of another reason I was met with such hostility when I approached the situation politely and respectfully from the very beginning. No customer should leave feeling the way I did. The top pack of lamb pictured was perfect. The bottom pack smelled bad and was greenish in person. As you can see via time stamp - I purchased the lamb on the 3rd and began to cook it on the 4th of July.
