Don't waste your time shopping here- you may not get service, at all. I saw bad reviews for this store but gave it a chance since the location was convenient. The man tending the store was extremely rude and inattentive, as others described. He seems to know nothing about customer service and in my opinion sexist and/or racist. When assistance was requested, he told me to look for the item on my own, and walked away. Very rude man. I realized quickly that I was wasting my time shopping there since he wasn't even available for check out. Don't waste your time here. read more

This is a very well-stocked, family-run store serving the North West of the East side of Seattle! Don't be fooled by the size of the store, as there is nothing lacking when it comes to Persian groceries. Au contraire, its proximity to two other Persian establishments, Rumi Persian restaurant and Aria Persian artisan bakery, makes it a go-to destination for everything Persian and one cut above the other Persian grocery stores. The selection is OK, and you can find basics here for cooking needs, but, the dude (owner?) at the counter looks like he doesn't want to be there. He literally had a huge frown on his face. I had to say 'excuse me' multiple times to pay, and I was ignored for a good 5 minutes...as he was crouched down behind the counter, which I thought was odd. My child was with me, and even asked why the guy was ignoring us. Definitely a weird and not very pleasant shopping experience. read more

There are a few Persian markets here on the Eastside but this is my favorite. They have a great selection, favor local bakeries for their cookies and pastries and have an enormous spice selection (Sadaf). Prices are super fair, relative to their completion (but I did pay $15 for a tray of cookies, lol). Mostly, the people who work here couldn't be nicer and I highly recommend this shop! read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE. We came by last Thursday. It's now Monday and we don't have our money back. My husband and I got OVERCHARGED $700 DOLLARS on a $60 transaction. That is ALOT of money to just go missing when you didn't expect it. The owner does not know how to use his system and kept asking for other cards saying that our debit card didn't work. We got charged 4 times. My husband showed him the charges saying that there was no way our card was not working. Good thing we checked before we left. I have a feeling he would have denied it. The owner asked my husband how to run the return and what to press. He was so confused that it took 20 minutes before he even said he didn't know what he was doing. During this time my husband put our items into he car... The owner came to our car opened our trunk to "double count" the items. No gloves or mask. Just helping himself to our property. Update - We just called today after connecting with BoA on why we haven't seen a return and the bank said nothing is pending on their end. The owner said "... it should come" pushed us off the phone. Horrible service and he wasn't even sorry. $700 is a lot of money so be taken unexpectedly and it's put us in a bad position. Nor did he provide any info on when we should expect the refund/ other solution. Mistakes happen and we feel it wouldn't be been such an issue is the owner was polite and apologetic about it when we called to follow up today. Rather and being rude and unhelpful. Hence this post- I hope they see it! read more

OK, I've been coming here for a few years now, I was willing to put up with the rude owner/guy in the front and how slow he is because my kids love their beef cold cuts. Today I walked in to get the usual , beef with pistachio cold cuts, only for the owner to tell me he doesn't have that. It was right in front of me in fridge, so I showed it to him and he said "it's PORK" and I asked him if he's been giving me pork cold cuts despite me asking every time for BEEF . He started yelling it's pork as if I didn't understand what he was saying.! There is a huge language barrier and lack of simple customer service manners with this guy. Anyway, I'll be taking my business elsewhere; not worth the anxiety he causes every time I come. read more

Delicious, delicious deli meats, lots of varieties of hard to find Persian and Iranian goods. The bakhlava is amazing, and so is the variety of actually imported halwa. I am so sad that we live far away from this grocery and there's none in Tacoma. The prices are great, and they even have pismaniye!!! The giant bottles of olive oil blends for cheaper than most places. The shop is small and cramped if there's more than four shoppers, but it is loaded end to end with amazing things. Lamb head and lamb foot here in the freezer, lots of unleavened bread. I am going back there as soon as I can! read more

I will upgrade my rating to this place to four stars now. I went there last night and the store is full of bread, meats, and so many frozen dinners. Don't forget that great Persian Ice cream. The place is clean and very organized. They also have a small selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. The owners are very nice. Though I am not a Persian but I love Persian food. read more

DON'T SHOP HERE!!! Look elsewhere for your Persian/ middle eastern ingredients. They are beyond rude and I have never been treated so poorly in my life! I was simply asking for help and clarification on items to be yelled at and shooed out of the store?! With everything going on in 2020, customer service and being kind to people should be a top priority to keep your customers coming back. Apparently this small business isn't suffering by the lack of human decency to treat people with respect and not discriminate. I will not be returning. Everything was overpriced to begin with. Some ethnic ingredients are impossible to find at any other store, so this is where I usually find them here! Owners are nice, even though it is hard to get a hold of someone if you are calling to ask if they are open! The bread here is really good and that is what I usually buy at this store. read more

I've never left Sahand without finding exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate that I can walk around without the proprietor following and asking if I want to buy different items. The older gentleman is always kind, and cracked a few jokes the last time I was there for reshteh noodles. The deli is good, you will find lots of items needed. Location is good and i guess it is the only one in this area, thats why it is suuuper expensive. I would like it more if the owner is to smile more and be more kind, but I don't think anyone there is rude or something, they are just a bit serious than they should be. read more

The folks here are very kind people. They have stuff here you can't find very easily in other places of course. It's ok if you don't speak Farsi, etc., they speak English as well. Check out their fruit, dates, canned cherries, mint and orange blossom water, rose and mulberry syrups, strawberry and sour cherry syrups and spices! :-) read more

Like a kid in a candy store, this place is a sight for sore eyes. My Farsi is terrible, but I was able to converse well enough. The owners are very friendly. Food selection looks to be excellent and the prices are good. $24.99 for a 20 lb. bag of Royal basmati rice. Amazon charges $38 with free shipping, so this is a good deal for those of us who don't have a Costco membership. All of the essential spices, treats, household goods are here, and more. No Barbari, but it IS right next door! I believe they said they close at 8pm. I can't wait to come back :) Merci. read more

Such a great Persian store and perfect location. Very clean. Every item is neatly organized on the shelves. The store is spotless. Great variety of the necessities and nice to haves. I bought everything I needed and more. Wonderful owner, very attentive to their customers. Although we are not Persians, we love Persian food. One of the cleanest and newest Persian grocery stores I have ever seen. They have a very rich inventory. I and my husband just moved to this area and found this store by accident (passing to find officmax). Very happy we saw it. Now we don't have to move far away to buy Persian foods. I have been shopping at this place from the start and today was the last time I set foot in this store. The owner of this place was too rude to let go this time. This place is over priced and the only reason I was their customer is because of Aria bakery. I will do my best to let people know how extremely rude he treats his customer and it is time to take our business to goodies store from now on. Been here five times, disappointed every time. bought $12 a pound pistachios they claim was their best, and they were literally "lubia: size. Bought sun flower seeds another time the whole bag was stale and old. Bought packaged pastries, as soon as i got home I regretted my purchase. You know when you open a box of pastries and it smells like nasty oil of some kind rather than good buttery smell? Bought hot dogs that we ended up throwing away. So unless you are buying perishable products with expatriation dates on it like yogurt, milk "dough" and such, be very careful of old stale inventory. Maybe more inventory management and less bow tie would serve the community better. wink wink read more
