I stop in here pretty frequently because it's conveniently located close to my house and it's on the way home from work. However, I think even if it wasn't I would shop here for certain things. If I did all my shopping here I might break the budget because to stock/sell local & more responsible goods, it costs a bit more money; but one thing I never mind spending more money on is quality seafood & meats and they have both! They also have a great selection of cheeses & things for a charcuterie board and wines - I will often try the wines they put on special and haven't really ever struck out. Oh and they have a HUGE selection of speciality beers and ciders, more ciders and sours than anywhere else in the area that I've seen. They sell Zingermans & Avalon Breads so it's a good spot to pick those up and best of all they have Jeff's Bread (the best baguette in Ann Arbor) on Thursdays and Fridays (maybe Sat too i can't remember). If you get their at the times they put it out (which they have posted at the store) you can literally get it warm and it's incredible. Their homemade soups are good and my hubby and I love to get their made-fresh sandwiches. They have a list of options you can choose from or you can creat your own and you gave the choice to panini it and we think they are SO GOOD!! It's a very underrated (well maybe less so thought of" lunch spot! They have other hot food items too. Lastly, it's a great spot to stop for a smoothie, coffee, or tea and a pastry because they have their own mini cafe towards the front of the store! They typically always have a big hot carafe of Lobster Butter (a local favorite) that you can grab on the go and they serve Arbor Teas. Update -- I read someone else's review that says the staff are rude and I want to share that I have never had an experience like that. I see the same staff in their all the time and I think they are kind and helpful.

Facially wonderful, most of the items in this grocery store are extremely expensive-- costing more than the same items at Whole "whole paycheck" Foods or Plum. A small 4 ounce sized container of pomegranate seeds here is priced at $7.99. A 4 ounce container at Aldi, just a mile away, will cost less than $3.00.

This is a great little independent fresh market on West Stadium with a super team of staff and employees. Arbor Farms loves local vegetable growers and provides organic and grass-fed Michigan meats. Like a Whole Foods Market, it is into organic everything including its juice bar, salad garden and many of its fresh foods crafted on-site. Because it is a small neighborhood independent, shopping here feels very comforting...especially in the midst of the pandemic. At Arbor Farms, you get the same professional service that you'd get at the much larger Whole Foods but with a more of a personalized touch. I popped in early at the bell this Friday morning to stock up on some fresh eats before the weekend crowds descend on this neighborhood gem. Five stars all the way.

    Microbrew Row.

From a hippie haven to borderline homogenized health foods store, Arbor Farms dodged becoming banal by staying true to itself. Consider their humble origins in a building 1/10th the size of their current location in the defunct Farmer Jacks grocery store off Stadium Blvd. Super sizing doesn't always work people, even a business needs Viagra sometimes to stay ahead. What did they get right? Organic foods, grass fed beef and supplements got them on every trend following Yuppie's map. Take that and toss in more better space to load up, add a superb deli (which opens their new expansion wing tomorrow in fact for more dining in seating), an absolutely killer selection of microbrew, a bottle-for-bottle wine selection that's well curated to avoid finding the same stuff at Krogers or Trader Joe's, and dry bulk foods. Plus there's no shortage of vegan, gluten-free garbage, and full-on wheat products for the genetically superior (jk). Anyhow, come here for superior quality. Sure, Whole Foods uses up more space, but I'll bet you $1 their watermelon tastes like hell compared to Arbor Farms. This is similar to Clark's Nutrition in Socal, but with an epicurean in mind.

Whoa! When I wasn't looking, Arbor Farms got even better! I got handed a very restrictive, super-health-food diet plan which is supposed to make me feel healthier, and the nutritionist said that the best source for the 100% grass fed beef and the "no retained water" chicken and the organic, no-nitrates bacon would be Arbor Farms. So now they're my go-to grocery for stocking my fridge and pantry with stuff that will make me feel more energetic and like I'm glad to be alive. I hadn't been there for several months. When I went there with my new diet list in hand, I suddenly realized that they had expanded into several stores along the edge of the mall, to give them a deli with places to sit while you eat your lunch. Yeah, the healthy stuff might be more expensive, but think of all the money I'm saving by not buying Dorito's, Ruffles, or even gluten free cheddar crackers. In the long run, I might actually save money on this new diet, since virtually all processed foods are off my list. Those hippies were right all along! The less processed your food is, the better you are going to feel.

If I'm looking for supplements, essential oils, or other natural remedies, this is one of my first stops. The prices here are a bit more than Whole Food, but you're buying from a local store, so in theory more of my money will stay in the local economy, which is a good thing. The prices on food are high enough that I'll usually opt to buy edibles elsewhere. The Farmer's Market, Sparrow, Produce Station, Plum Market, or the Co-op seem at least marginally cheaper. The natural remedies here seem to be consistently better-stocked (or more in-stock) than even Whole Foods, so it's not even exclusively about buying from a local shop. The staff is always extremely helpful. If I'm looking for a solution to a particular problem, or a very specific food, I have total confidence that I'll be well taken care of -- and service does count for something. So, when buying vitamins, etc., even though I know the food items feel a bit pricey, I'll often get seduced into picking up a food item or five!

This is a real farm but also a great place to start a day like this with the first stop being the food tent. It is full of local fresh products. They bake many breads so we started with a warm baguette to eat with the fresh local cheeses in the refrigerated area. We chose the goat cheese, the fresh mozzarella as well as a container of their homemade pimento spread, the best example I have ever had. We also got some morning pastries for immediate consumption at the picnic tables scattered around. Between us we had, a morning bun, some croissants, including pain au chocolate.
