I was really impressed with the guy at the customer service desk that helped me with a product I was looking for. He was able to ask an employee a clarifying question and give me history as to why that item was potentially discontinued and even gave me an estimated date for when it should be coming back. I was very impressed. I got the runaround at Whole Foods asking about this item and I didn't even try target. My kiddo has lots of significant anaphylactic allergies so we end up buying lots of expensive specialty items, and take the occasional trip to specialty grocery stores like Arbor Farms. I love the concept of shopping for Local Michigan items, but with a big family, this is not always in the budget. I will definitely be back with the level of service that I received from the Customer Service guy. Thank you so much!

We got a blueberry pie (freshly baked), an apple strudel and half a poppy seed strudel (both frozen). You can get the strudels either freshly baked or frozen to bake later; same with the pies, I suspect. The pie and apple strudel are the absolute best I've ever had, and I grew up with a grandma who made these desserts! The poppy seed strudel was also very good, but it has raisins, which is traditional, but I personally don't like very much. The apple strudel does not have raisins - yay! Gretchen does heritage baking, hence the desserts are not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. They are perfect!

Lately I've been coming for postpartum prepared meals because I know their ingredients are decent. This is definitely a good place to go if you're looking for something fun to try, or to bring something unique to a dinner party etc. They also have meat, dairy, a lot of ready-mades, and a nice looking salad bar. It is overall more expensive than other grocery stories, but presumably shopping here is supporting a local business and local farmers.

I would have expected the offerings to be a little more robust in July in Michigan, but when I…read morevisited the farmer's market this week, there wasn't a lot to see. I had been to this farm market a few years ago and thought the selection was better then. The sparse offerings this time may be because I went on a Wednesday. I'd be willing to bet they get a better turnout on the weekends. However, I did have a fun time talking to the old farmer and beekeeper who ran one of the booths. He gave me the dirt on a few different local produce farms and I liked him, even though he talked smack about one of my favorite U-pick farms. I bought two luscious locally grown cucumbers for $2 and had one of them cut up on a green salad for lunch today. He also was selling locally grown beans, turnips, carrots, and strawberries, along with jarred honey and honey still in the comb. I plan to give the Farmer's Market one more try, probably on a Saturday.

Great food products and crafts…read more The winter market is in Liberty School in Saline on Ann Arbor Saline Rd. It's a great place to buy eggs, seasonal vegetables and even real Greek Olive Oil. I like to buy chips and salsa from Jarhead salsa. The hot is really spicy and has chunks of vegetables in it.
