This facility was newly built and opened in June of 2018. Still looking and feeling new in 2020, the design was envisioned for senior men and women in a cheerful modern setting. It's both practical and comfortable. I would be happy to live there myself. The vast majority of "hands on staff" show compassion and caring and reasonable skills. All of the employees, from the top down, pitch in and help when needed. There are programs for entertainment and learning. The food is wholesome and not "institutional." There's a fully capable and nationally recognized medical center minutes away. The town is quiet with good restaurants, near shopping, and a supermarket a short walk next door. I wanted a senior residence that I could bring my mother to where I would never need to worry for her care. She deserved the best, and AT-MP fit the bill. We visited several assisted living communities before choosing Arbor Terrace in Morris Plains for my parents and we could not be happier with our decision. The care is top-notch: the managers are highly experienced and approachable; the nursing staff is attentive and compassionate; the aides are warm and patient; the facility is immaculate; the dining services are excellent; the activities are highly varied and fun. My parents were apprehensive that a move to assisted living would mean an end of their independence but they've found that, except for assigned meal times, they have flexibility in how they spend their days. As a family member I have confidence that they are safe, their health and medications are monitored, they eat well, and they are stimulated by the activities and the company of others.
