We had a VERY large oak that was rotting inside and threatening our house. We called 4 different services. Arbor had a fair price, responded quickly, and did a very professional job. This was even after the surprise of finding quite a large honeybee nest in the trunk that cost them 2-3 additional hours to resolve so the rest of the trunk could be removed and a bit of rain that slowed things down. Their team was great to work with and we were able to "supervise" the effort as they worked. Bob seemed quite knowledgeable and was very open when discussing the job and during the work day. Robert came to give a quote with a tree that fell in my yard but belonged to a neighbor. Before he came by the neighbor had agreed to pay for both trees, one standing and one that fell in my yard. When Robert came he interfered with our agreement, without being asked he told the neighbors they didnt have to pay for it. And then they backed out. He is not a lawyer, he is there to cut a tree down. He overstepped and was unprofessional. We couldnt get a word in, he wouldnt stop talking and was extremely disrespectful. Its important to mind your business, but I figured you who is reading this should know who you are dealing with...There are many other companies, do a little research. a recent wind storm brought down a very large tree in our yard And several more in obvious danger of coming down. I called Arbor Tree on the recommendation of a neighbor. Bob came by that morning, carefully assessed what needed to be done and provided a written quote along with a copy of his insurance certificate. The price was VERY COMPETATIVE. He and his crew of 7 came the next day to take advantage of the still frozen yard To limit yard damage. They brought a huge crane, a giant truck and wood chipper, and another truck with a myriad of tools. They worked so hard and were very professional and careful. Bob and his crew did a great job with a large split trunk oak that was unfortunately situated a few feet from our new home. We did our due diligence on quotes from other outfits and went with Bob and his team. Interestingly Bob was the only person who quoted us who mentioned a little feature of this oak called 'included bark' right at the base where the two trunks split off. Without being pushy or overly frightening about the prospects, Bob mentioned that the included bark represented a weakness in the tree's structural stability and that, while he couldn't say when it might give way (or if it would), this weakness meant we'd be wise to have the tree taken down. While we were tempted to dismiss his advice based on the fact that nobody else thought it was an issue, we didn't want to invite even more tail risk into our lives (I think all would agree that we've had enough tail risk coming home to roost lately with Sars-CoV-2...). We went with Bob and, a slight delay due to health concerns with his crew aside, he and his squad came out one fine Monday morning to do their work. The actual work itself was quite impressive. Bob and his team brought a veritable fleet of trucks (all in confidence-inspiring exterior condition) to handle our job tucked in a tricky corner of Arlington. Without any issues, Bob managed to thread the crane over some power lines and into our yard, working in tandem with their bucket truck to chop and lower the beautiful old tree with precision. Cut to the end of the job, Bob calls me over to take a look at the stump before their stump grinding machine gets to work (and let me tell you, that little machine is awesome -- remote controlled stump devastation. Beautiful). Immediately upon looking at the stump I saw a huge gash in the interior of the tree, right along the plane between the two stumps -- the included bark weakness laid bare. We trusted Bob, and boy was he right. Would the tree have come down in a storm? Who knows. But I slept peacefully the first night we had a storm after Arbor Tree did their job. There are a ton of tree companies out there and be sure to do your due diligence for your next job, but you'd be remiss if that effort didn't include a call to Bob. read more

We hired Bob to take down a tree as well as a few limbs from a other trees on our property/neighbors property. He came out that day for an estimate - which was competitive with other estimates we had received. He took his time explaining which limbs he thought should come down. He's very personable and professional. His guys showed up on time as planned and worked hard (even when it started to get windy and rain on them). They also cleaned up after themselves and (despite a previous reviewers comments) there was no damage to any of our property. Highly recommend arbor tree service! When Bob came out to give us a quote he first asked what exactly we were looking for with having trees removed. We told Bob that we wanted to make sure our yard was safe since my young children are often playing outside. He educated my husband and I about why some trees were leaning and he told us what trees he felt were safe to stay, which ones needed to be removed and which ones he could prune. He walked around our whole property numerous times to make sure we didn't miss anything. He was very responsive to calls and emails. He gave a more then fair estimate based on tree removal on our street but he did a far better job with yard cleanup after the job was done. My neighbors lawns were quite damaged and tree branches were left after the job was finished. Our yard was shockingly clean with no branches or damage. It happened far in my backyard where it was difficult to access and it was huge and still attached, posing great danger in removal. I spoke with a couple tree guys and Bob instilled great confidence in me with his impressive equipment and understanding of all the ins and outs of dealing with the insurance company. The men who worked on our trees did a good job. We were told by Bobby that all the cuttings would be taken away and they weren't. Also one of the limbs fell on our deck, and the Forman said it would be fixed. Never happened. But Bobby was so fast to call for our check! Recently I called him to say this in person, not on the phone or Yelp. He told me he would be at our house shortly. We waited until 8:30 PM. He never showed up or called to explain. We had a fantastic experience with Bob and his team at Arbor Tree. He fit us into a tight schedule and ended up finishing the job ahead of schedule. He cleared the entire back side of our property so there was a ton of brush & trees to go. He left 1 small tree because of a miscommunication. I was already happy with the yard and said he could come back when he had some down time to remove it. He was there the next day and didn't want a Check until he had finished the job down to the last tree. We have to hire and work with a lot of contractors. Bob came out one time, listened, and knocked it out of the park without any more of my time, energy, or money.
