Slowest Drive-thru ever. I'm the third car, and I've already been in line for 10 minutes. It's 1:14 in the afternoon.

For 23 years, my favorite drive thru! As long as the chicken pecan salad wrap is on the menu!

The coffee we had was very good- latte and flat white. They had run out of cold brew. Cinnamon bun was very sweet but good. The gluten free brownie was ok and chocolate chip cookie was airy (interesting) and enjoyed. If we had more time would have liked to have a full lunch.

The Girl & The Raven has such a cool story behind it, and learning about the meaning of the raven in Native American folklore made the experience feel even more special. Then the food arrived... and suddenly conversation stopped because everyone was too busy saying, "You have to try this!" We ordered the breakfast bowl with sweet potatoes, arugula, and the famous hippy sauce, a gooey cinnamon bun, and the homemade daily biscuit sandwiches. Every single bite was phenomenal. The hippy sauce deserves its own fan club, the biscuit was flaky perfection, and the cinnamon bun disappeared so fast it should probably qualify as magic. Every dish was cooked to absolute perfection. You can tell it's crafted by Michelin trained chefs who know exactly what they're doing. Sarah Grace took amazing care of us. She was friendly, attentive, and somehow managed to make us feel like regulars even though we were just passing through. The restaurant itself is adorable, and the artwork covering the walls is stunning. We seriously considered playing a game of "How much luggage can we leave behind to make room for a painting?" If we hadn't packed the car for vacation, one of those paintings would have been riding shotgun all the way home. Come hungry, stay curious about the story, and don't be surprised if you leave wishing your vehicle had just a little more cargo space.

7/24/26 My husband…read moreand I traveled from Ohio to the Bristol area for a weekend anniversary trip. We like to visit the local caves in whichever area that we go. We also decided to see a show at Barter Theatre which is what led us to this specific restaurant. This place was BUSY! The line was out the door the entire time we were there. We loved the whole vibe of the building. We waited for a while to get our food but didn't think anything of it honestly because of the crowd. When our food was delivered to the table, the employee apologized to us and gave us a free banana pudding and explained that they had accidentally swiped our order off the screen and that was the reason for the delay. We would've had no idea either way, it still wasn't that long of a wait to get our food. The food was absolutely delicious. The best BBQ that I have ever had! The banana pudding was fabulous and while not necessary, it was really appreciated. Great Customer Service! We hope to come back sometime!

The BBQ platter was a feast with fall off the bone ribs, juicy brisket, flavorful pulled pork, and a delicious jalapeño cheddar sausage, all served with fresh, crunchy coleslaw. Every meat was cooked perfectly and had that authentic slow-smoked taste. To top it all off, we enjoyed some great local beer while listening to live music, which made for the perfect evening. If you're looking for excellent BBQ, cold local brews, and a fun atmosphere, this place is definitely worth a visit. We'll absolutely be back!

This was once a food truck, but now has opened a stall in a mixed use space in downtown Abingdon. I…read morehad researched the food truck during my various trips through the area over several years, but was never able to attend one of its limited appearances. As such, I had an unusually long time to contemplate what Appalachian-Pakistani fusion might taste like. Amazing, as it turns out. Their signature vegetarian dish is a hearty lentil stew delivered over mashed potatoes. I got my greens in by adding pickled collard greens and a seasonal ramp chutney. I was greeted with a resplendent mix of warm and savory flavors that was hard to stop eating. Their chai was a bit sweet and had an interesting spice blend. Availability is very limited, with both a small menu and some options running out towards the end of the day, bearing in mind that they close early. As a full restaurant, it wouldn't measure up. Maybe they'll get there some day. As it is, I would suggest coming early. There are some good restaurants in Abingdon, but you won't find food like this anywhere else.

I do my research and occasionally we drive a little farther for good meals. While in the area, we went to the Abingdon Commons in order to try The Pakalachian. Our first visit we tried the Daal Me Up with pickled collards. It was so delicious, that we had to make another drive in for more a couple of days later. We ordered more food than we could eat because living out-of-state, we knew it would be our last chance for a long while. Everything we ordered (another Daal Me Up, Saag with Grits, and Curry Me Down South) was AMAZING! The idea to marry Indian and Southern cuisines is genius and works so well. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Not only is this place top-notch for the area, it is excellent for any area! I hope to be able to recreate some of their wonderful dishes at home until we are in Southwest Virginia again!
