You know Arby's is one of my favs. Their drive thru is usually quicker and for some reason, I like it because it feels less fast foodie to me. Anyways, this time around, I actually opt'd for the turkey club, but instead of regular ranch I asked for the red ranch. This is the one they usually put on the roast beef sandwiches. They were really great with the accomodation and it was a great switch. Also, they were super generous with the amount of sauces, even though I dont usually use them. The former home of the fast food roast beef sandwich, I was a bit taken off guard with all of the meat options. There is turkey, corned beef, steak, roast beef, a bacon sandwich, nd I'm probably leaving a few meats out. Because I have zero self control when hungry, I ordered two Three Cheese and Steak sandwiches and Curly Fries, as one sandwich would suffice. Its peppery outer layer was nicely noticable beneath the Swiss Cheese, Cheddar and Gouda giving this sandwich a decadent cheesy flavor. Fast food establishments are hit-or-miss, this location always gets our orders right, that's a rarity at most other chains nearby. The chicken tenders were moist and crispy. Fries flavorful and hot. Turnovers were fresh and delicious. Others enjoyed chicken/bacon/ranch sandwiches, lettuce and tomato always fresh. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Location kept clean. Just outside of Christ the King High School, this Arby's is pretty spacious and sits in a quiet area. When I stopped by around a busy 3 o'clock afternoon, I didn't see any of the high school kids around, so I'm guessing they're not too interested in Arby's. The place was calm, not loud at all, mostly filled with older folks. Now, about the food. I don't know what it is, but something about Arby's always seems to send you straight to the bathroom. And here's the issue. The same older crowd that fills the place also seems to occupy the bathroom for a while, so if you're in a rush, that could be a problem. Consider that a warning. On the bright side, the service is quick. My food came out in about six minutes, which is solid. But fair warning, once you finish eating, you might be looking for that bathroom right after. read more

This is the nastiest fucking "sandwich" I've ever had the misfortune of putting in my mouth if you can even call it that. If you have half a brain, you will know not to eat this crap. I think I just spent 15 dollars an elephant vaginal glands. Not even 5 minutes I could feel my stomach twisting and turning like a goddamn board game. My breath is drier than the Sahara Desert and I can feel my tongue begging for mercy. The meat is fucking gray, the seats are uncomfortable, the cheese is somehow melted and solid at the same time, and I spent more time begging any celestial deity for mercy than actually eating. Of course this establishment is right next to a cemetery, this is where they put the people that eat here. I urge you, I beg of you, please, do not eat this. Any of this. You'll die. If you want a quality roast beef sandwich, Arby's is the way to go. This is what they are famous for, so go for the roast beef sandwich. But like every other fast food place, they have other options as well, though I never tried the other options, stuck to what they are known for. There sitting area is quite large and can accommodate a decent number of people. I really like their curly fries, crispy and crunchy. They have a parking lot, which is great especially in New York. The Prime Rib Cheesesteak caught my eye, so I went with that. My expectations were pretty low to begin with, but I thought the sandwich was just ok. They don't have Arby's where I grew up. My first experience with this chain was at their restaurant on the Tulane campus. I tried it. I didn't like it. And I didn't try Arby's again for about twenty-five years, when I came to this location in Middle Village. And this time, I liked it. Since then, I've frequented Arby's many times. I like the French Dip the best but had a "Classic Roast Beef Meal" on my most recent visit. In general, I would give this chain just four stars as I don't LOVE Arby's; I just like it. But I'm giving this location five stars because of the art-deco-like interior with comfortable booths, faux-Tiffany lamps and vintage photographs on the wall. First time at Arby's and I'm not sure what's all the hate for lol. My teen ordered the smokehouse brisket sandwich meal with curly fries. We also ordered the chicken nuggets kids meal for my other child with regular fries and I ordered the new wraps. The fries were all on point. Crispy and tasty. Closer to warm rather than hot but still not bad. My teen said the sandwich was really good; the nuggets were like chopped up crispy chicken tenders and tasted good. The new wraps though? I think Arby's is the only restaurant so far that has gotten a wrap to taste like the closest thing to McDonald's discontinued snack wraps!! I had the ranch and the honey mustard and it was great! As for the service, the guys behind the counter were friendly and quick. We dined in and I realized they have a really great space but hardly any customers. I've tried to contact corporate about how the beef is sliced too thick. It's been this way for months. I worked at Arby's in Oklahoma for three years and the beef is supposed to be sliced super thin. This is the second time I have ever been to an Arby's. I really went crazy ordering food here. They were offering happy hour here from 2:00p-5:00p, sliders, fries, cookies, soda (Coca-Cola products "YAY") plus small shakes (Jamoca shake topped with whipped cream) all for $1.00 each. They also offer two gyros for $6.00. Their sliders consisted of really soft small buns with warm meat and melted cheese how can you go wrong?? I ordered a few of their roast beef, ham, buffalo chicken, jalapeno chicken sliders. Came here for a drive thru meal. There wasn't a long line and the wait wasn't too bad. I'm not sure if the speaker system was messed up, because I had to go over my short order about 3 times. The food itself was ok. The fries were warm, the chicken sandwich I got tasted fine, but didn't sit too well with me a little bit later. Fast food is not my cup of tea per se, but occasionally I do venture to Arby's where not easily accessible in New York City for the difficulty to locate. After departing from an appointment that was well received only to be mere feet of distance on Metropolitan Avenue to be electrocuted by eye witnessing electricity dangerously spewing from a live wire of a utility line, I quickly sought the nearest indoor shelter for substance. Disappointingly from memory Arby's had the most flavorable chicken cordon bleu sandwich, which has been discontinued. I do love their very mild spicy curly French Fries and their market fresh Turkey wrap. Service is efficient and attentive for clients to be reference by first name basis in a fast food restaurant is unknown for this Arby's #7737. Facilities is full operational and clean with a airplane style lock "vacant" or "occupied" indicator on outside of door. There is a Captain's Bell bell (originated by Long John's Silver who Arby's later copied in their franchise chain) to be rang upon exiting for clients to loudly voice their appreciation of a good experience, which is much better than standard written comment cards to be easily lost or never reaching its final destination to the corporate headquarters lair. read more

Had lunch there today with my family. Great people, great food and really attractive restaurant. This is a local favorite and now I know why. The restaurant is decorated with interesting photos of the "Old" Middle Village and items from the historic Niedersteins restaurant which once stood on that site (check out the antique sign over the entrance). The staff was really friendly (unlike the people at McDonalds who make it clear they would rather not be there). The food was really tasty and different. I recommend the Bourbon BBQ specials. The place is spotless. There was a girl sweeping up like it was her house, getting every crumb from every nook and cranny!!! She even said "Thanks for coming" when we left. We all know NYC is lacking in it's fast food offerings (no Chic-fil-a, Arby's, or Sonic in Manhattan proper), so when I found out from Jill that there was a new Arby's in town, I almost had a heart attack. Three trains and 45 minutes later, I finally arrived at Arby's in Queens. Oh, glorious, glorious Arby's. Man have I missed you. I got my usually cheddar fries and medium roast, for if I got anything else it would be like committing adultery. It's even better than I remembered. Everything was hot and delish straight from the fryer. The "restaurant" is brand spanking new. Everything is sparkling clean. Minus one point for trying to charge me for a refill of unsweet tea. I'm sorry, but when you're giving free refills of coffee, pepsi and other sodas, don't even try to make me pay for a refill of tea. We have been to this location many times and the food is usually edible in the least, and pretty decent at its best. But the service is always something other that stellar. This particular evening, we should have stayed away, as they almost sent me to the hospital. The dark drive thru should have been an omen, but we were too tired to go inside to order. We drove in a pitch black drive thru and a surprised voice came through the speaker box. We placed our order and the guy asked us whether we wanted the special and we inquired what it was, the response was like its the beef and cheddar 2 for blah blah blah. Mind you we ordered beef and cheddars with no red sauce, only cheese and beef (verbatim since they have made errors in the past). We were given a total and drove around very carefully. We paid, waited and got our food. As we drove down the street a took a bite of my sandwich and my tongue started feeling scratchy and numb as if I burned it. As I chewed, there were hard little pieces of something in the food. I opened the sandwich and saw there was two skinny pieces of dried up bacon in the sandwich! I am allergic to pork! We did a u-turn and I took them back inside. The window guy saw me and tried to hide away. Within that few minutes of me being there, I started feeling very ill. The manager finally came over to me and I explained the situation (allergies, etc) and requested a Benadryl (she said she didn't have anything but a first aid kit?). Instead of them apologizing, I was asked for my receipt and this little boy came and attempted to tell me what I said! When I refuted and put him in his place, I excused myself to the restroom because the bite of food had taken its toll. I guess she thought I was kidding because this manager had the nerve to opened the bathroom door and saw me hunched over the commode heaving and expelling my insides. I came out got the remade sands and let the manager and the ill-mannered boy that the way this was handled was quite disrespectful, lacked in customer service and responsibility on their part. The parting words from this woman? Make sure you check your food before you leave and sorry you got sick. My words for the GM to this location is to fix the lights in the lot and on the menu board, its a safety hazard. Train your employees to be responsible, professional and attentive to the customer's actual orders, not what they would eat themselves. I will drive across Queens, go to LI or even to Manhattan where the employees value their customers and their health. My bf got me some Benadryl thank God, but I lost my voice and regular taste buds for 3 days. Thanks a lot Arby's. read more

It's Arbys so you know what you're getting when you walk in. They have a nice, clean place with plenty of seating. Service is slow, even when the place isn't crowded, which it rarely is, at least the times I've been here. I've always liked their roast beef and my latest visit was no different. You get a decent sized order of fries, even the small size. However, I used to get the potato cakes, which were delicious. Not now. The last couple of times I had them they weren't very good at all, so I now stay with the fries. Prices are decent and the food is pretty good for the most part. Always worth a stop-in. I had a classic lamb gyro. The bread was unheated and stale, you had to bite so hard to break thru it. It was to be served warm and soft in texture. My friend had a brisket sandwich. The meat was 50% fat and looked like it was made by Dupont. Dreadful looking. The lamb was tasteless. Now contrast that to the TV commercials where everything looks great. They have the meat alright! But it's poor in quality. We protested and they exchanged the orders.They served my gyro with a soft warm bread. No problem with returning what you find lousy. I went in because I heard of an item off of their secret menu called the meat mountain sandwich that contains all of their selling meats as well as a slice of Swiss and cheddar on a bun.
