It's an Arby's. Nothing new or different. Same as the rest in the country. One of my favorite fast food joints.

They do go easy on the cheese in my beef and cheddar sometimes but I alway just pony up the extra few quarters for a side of it.

It's in a WIlco Hess Travel Center so it's not stand alone and you have to look for it. Open 24/7…read moreso it's a great place to stop for gas and get something to eat if you're on I-77 around NC exit 42. Had to run down to Mooresville on Friday so I stopped in on the way back to grab a BMT, some chips and something to drink. Started out OK and the two ladies on the front end of the line did a very good job customizing a BMT to my preferences. Problem was when I got down to the end to pay out and that girl could not keep any of the orders straight. The lady ahead of me had already paid and was walking off when the cashier started yelling for her to come back because she had given me the wrong order. Turned out she had not but she was so disorganized she did not know the difference. As for me, she charged me the wrong amount and I had to have her correct it. Sandwich was good but I did not need the drama at the end. Good thing I took it back to the office to enjoy in peace and quite.

His encounter with the clerk at the subway counter didn't go very well as he decided not to purchase a meal. My husband comes back to the car indicating that the female at the counter yelled at him and she had a nasty attitude. I went to use the restroom and afterwards asked who I could speak with about the matter. A beautiful young lady goes and grabs the manager. I proceed to speak to her about the issue and to find out it was her. Apparently, my husband asked if they were open and she went on a rant about they are open 24 hours. You went on to say the line started at the other end. One my husband asked a question, two there was no line, the store was empty. Three she was clearly rude and showed she hated her low paying job. I approached her regarding the her service and lack of tact. The subway female shift manager automatically jumped to her own defense with her hand motions and smacking of the gums (she has no teeth). As she waved her hands and smacked her gums, I stood in front of her with my hands folded, attempting to explain to her the value of proper communication. I explained to her that her body language and attitude clearly told that she hated her job.. She became so defensive that it was a waste of breathe speaking to someone with lack of intelligence. I admittedly left and cursed at her as ignorance gets on my nerves. I had to come to terms that it is Christmas and some people are just naturally bitter. I hope that the store owner provides customer service training to the staff. The way she reacted could have caused additional issues and a good ole dragging. Please talk to her about her offensive body language and her hand gestures. She is a lawsuit ready to happen if she continues with her temper. Again she is very unprofessional, untrained, bluntly rude and lack people skills. You can check with the other staff members that witness the event.

Hands down the best around. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside, and seasoned just right. It's one of those meals you start craving again the next day.

From a former fan of the Happy Egg until they implemented a so-called credit card fee (something…read morethey had not done last year) after introducing their new menus early in 2026. In speaking with others in the restaurant business, they say included in the menu price is not only their food costs, but also all their overhead costs - including credit card processing fees - so begs the questions, why do some places add a fee for using a credit card? So I did a bit of research, and here is what I found: NC is moving toward tighter regulations A 2025 bill (House Bill 13) proposes: * A 2% cap on surcharges * Mandatory disclosure at the entrance and point of sale * A ban on surcharges if the business only accepts credit cards It hasn't fully passed yet, but it has momentum. If it becomes law, it will standardize what restaurants can charge and how they must disclose it. Check whether the fee applies to all cards If the restaurant charges the same fee for: * debit cards NOTE: Happy Egg, my server told me, charges 4% to use a Debit Card * credit cards * even prepaid cards ...that's a red flag. Why: Debit card processing is much cheaper. Charging the same fee across the board suggests the fee isn't tied to actual processing costs -- it's just extra revenue layered on top of already‑priced‑in costs. Look for "cash discount" language If the receipt says: * "Non‑cash adjustment" (Happy Egg charges 4% to use a credit card) * "Cash discount applied" ...but the menu prices are already high, it often means: * the "cash discount" is just the real price, * and the card price is inflated on top of it. This is one of the most common double‑dip setups. How to spot when a 6. Watch for restaurants that only recently added a fee If you've been going to a place for years and suddenly see: * a new 3-4% fee * with no change in menu prices ...it's very likely they simply added the fee without adjusting their pricing structure. The simplest rule of thumb If a restaurant: * never lowered menu prices, * adds a credit‑card fee, * and charges the same fee for all cards, you're almost certainly seeing double dipping. restaurant is double dipping
