I received a call 20 minutes before my appointment informing me that the office was running behind and asking me to come 1.5 hours later than my scheduled time. I explained that I couldn't do that and asked if there was any way to still be seen closer to my original appointment. The receptionist told me I could come in and wait, but since the staff hadn't taken their lunch yet, I would likely be waiting a long time. I then tried to reschedule, but was told that the only availability for cleanings is on Thursdays, which is extremely limiting. The receptionist came across as unhelpful and dismissive throughout the interaction. Overall, a very disappointing experience especially after taking time off work, only to receive a last minute, inconvenient change. I expected better communication and customer service. read more

I feel very grateful to Dr. Marchetti for his expertise and for taking care of my smile. It's been 2 years since I started going to this clinic and one thing I don't take for granted is good manners and for the physician to take the time to talk to you and make you feel that you are important to him. Dr. Marchetti is constantly teaching his assistants and everyone is helpful and polite. Any bad reviews here are about expectations on how things should be according to the unsatisfied reviewer, however we can't deny that the willingness to address issues are there. The 3 stars is for the almost painless procedures and the painless recoveries. BUT I some how always find myself in the waiting room and frustrated when I remember I want to review this place. Let me start by saying that my first visit was frustrating. I should have known then. I called in for an appointment for tooth extraction. I have never had one before but I had a wisdom that was killing me. The process was smooth and pain free. Dr. Marchetti no doubt knows what he's doing. Though I have been on the end of two sides of him, calm and patient and then there's sarcastic and passive aggressive (even to the employees.) The problem with this appointment was getting the prescription for the pain meds sent to the correct pharmacy. Post extraction I found myself not getting pain med until almost closing at pharmacy and you never get an apology at this place because everything is your own fault. I experienced this with my most visit. Went in for a root canal and cavities but over the weekend my family asked me when I get my crown and realized they never mentioned anything about the crown appointment. When I arrived to the dentist Monday I asked about that upon arrival and then concluded that I would like to not do the cavities and save the insurance towards the crown and I was told "next time let us know when we make the appointment, because I booked a 2 hour window for the Dr [__] that's why I ask what work from your treatment plan you would like to do so I can put someone else in that window since I'm the one who does the appointments" I'm not one to take belittling. Don't make patients feel bad for doing what's right for them financially, because as a dental office you'll get your slice of the pie one way or another. I'm not a monster, i understand they have to schedule a certain way especially if the oral surgeon is only in certain days of the week but there was failure on the dental planning part to include the important piece of making protection for the root canal. Previously too I was being pressured to make an appointment and I said maybe I can make that appt. but I'll call and schedule if I can (I was on/off working from home at the time and wasn't sure if I could go in) I then was told I missed my appointment and I said I didn't make the appointment and then I was responded with my first "I do remember you making the appointment that day but the next time you miss the appointment there is a fee". The dental assistants are super friendly. The recovery here is smooth and pain free. Everything in between with the receptionist is kind of a pain and if you don't have a back-bone to stand up for your needs here, they will chew you up and take all of your personal and insurance money before you realize what happened. Long story short, I had a dental emergency that created a gap in my smile. Dr. Marchetti's Team got me an appointment the next day and fixed the gap on the same visit! Not only that, they got me an appointment later in the evening (On Tuesday's they're open from 11-8 -pretty awesome for working mommy's like me) My family and I have been coming to Arc dental since we moved here in 2014. Their staff is super kid friendly and the hours are very accommodating for busy family schedules. I work in healthcare as well, so I'm very picky about which doctors I choose for my family. Arc dental, has been an easy choice for us. They have a very knowledgeable and helpful staff that really try to accommodate all your needs. My experience with Arc Dental was a nightmare. I regret the day I stepped foot there. They couldn't pay me to go back there! I paid a lot of money for cosmetic procedures trusting guidelines and steps to ensure functionality and aesthetic standards but unfortunately many things went wrong; very rough and brutal force used, aesthetics not to my standards, original treatment plan not followed (bone augmentation was in original plan for 2 implants and implants were placed without bone causing failure and then implant had to be removed but I paid for both procedures and I have a hole there), injury leaving EXCTUCiATING PAIN for a month and extenuating pain to this day. (A crown didn't fit so it was forced on breaking my tooth. I heard a sound like a crack and guessed right. New X-rays show a crack, billing issues (charged for items not performed and invoices augmented after the procedures were completed & PAID IN FULL when I should have been given a credit. Instead they said I owe! NO POST OP INSTRUCTIONS were provided. I was promised insurance negotiated rates verbally. Later viewing EOBs I wasn't honored the rates for items not initially billed to insurance. I had been deceived. DDS stated I don't need restorable barriers but then they were added to the invoice. I had to bug for charges to be removed and still haven't reached a complete resolve. My appointment for crowns began at 9. I didn't leave until close to 8pm , only breaking for lunch and Wasn't given enough anesthesia. I was subjected to more scraping and brutal actions for hours and also waited as they worked on another patient only to finish the last part (cementing) when he left. Their logo, "Same day crowns", or is it all day crowns?!? From the weird whispering by the dentist to his tech prior to cementing the crowns and so much force used, without showing me them for approval, it was an in extraordinary feeling. I was told I would be done by afternoon and I'd be able to go back to work at lunch. After lunch, I noticed the blood spatter on my chair and the bib prompting me to ask about sanitation of tools and area. The doctor responded that as long as the tools weren't used on someone else, they don't need sanitizing. Ok, the tools with my own bacteria can sit for hours with my blood on them and then reentered into my mouth. NASTY. The response to my review is politically correct but I care for the truth. Stating that revisions were offered at each appointment is a blatant LIE! Doctor disappeared from the room after cementing the crowns. I told the assistant my thought after letting me go and seeing the crowns for the first time. They prescribed a Norco which I don't take and through a pharmacy on probation so I had to buy Ibuprofen. There are cases in which dentists have been sued for inappropriate responses to reviews and this one is pushing it. First, revisions weren't offered to me at the appointment and they avoided discussion about the crowns and second, I would not be willing to subject myself to this abuse again, even if indirectly in this review Marchetti, the one who did it all, is offering revisions. No thank you! The verbals are inconsistent with what's on paper. One should have basis to trust one with this kind of access to appearance and health. One experience will invite one to return and another will send you running the other way. You doubt yourself and contemplate it but you just can't. The response to my complaints which they refused to detail assurances to resolve in writing, was for me to call them and to go back to their office; except there's the one email comment stating I received all services I went in for. After all of the time I took off work, extensive pain which I was still experiencing a month after, I realized it's better to lose hard earned money than to go back there not knowing what will happen to me. I'm willing to spend more money on a refined non-brutal dentist. The lack of diversity among employees is telling. No one is held accountable. Their process is archaic and rough, but if you don't know better you may think it's normal. I think why didn't I stop the dentist in the middle of it but it's intimidating and you think you'll mess it up more. I feel as though I'm a product of a freak surgery that came out of a third world country. read more

I hope I was the only one that had received the brunt of that interaction. It's discouraging to receive the treatment of obvious impatience, irritability, and dismissal. If you are having such a hard time and seem to hate your work, why not at least apologize to a potential new client before the conversation ends? Don't go to this place they over charge. The billing staff is incompetent, Modesto has better options then Arc Dental. The women in charge of billing can't even speak proper English or Spanish and I speak both. She tried to charge me for something I had already paid for and that happened twice. I had the best experience here, as I was dealing with a really bad tooth ache which also ended up being a root canal, they squeezed me in to help me At that moment. soon enough the my tooth ache was gone and they gave me an appointment 2 days later to come back and do the root canal. My first appointment his team took x-rays and he took a look at my teeth throughly, that day I also had my teeth cleaned the dental hygienist was friendly and gentle, my teeth felt great. The staff at the front desk are awesome as well they took my insurance information and I knew exactly what my insurance covered and what my deductible would be for my next visit. My next visit I had my wisdom teeth removed. The process was extremely comfortable and easy, I felt no pain through out the entire process and it was quick. As someone who has a fear of dentists (Just looked it up, it's odontophobia!) I'm always not too thrilled to try a new dentist. But everyone here at Arc, especially Dr. Marchetti, is very friendly and professional. I'm always assured that whatever I'm in for will be painless and even if there is a chance of pain, they will be honest about it. I don't leave until the filling, crown, etc is perfect.
