Ridiculous!!! This is not a thrift store, it's a hoarding problem. It's sad that people are donating their stuff to them and they are over pricing it. Pricing is almost at the pricing of the item being being new. I looked up some shoes and the new price was only $15 off. If you go to an actual thrift store, their inventory is always changing and can be low at times. They even have senior, veteran, student, certain, or colored specials. This store used to be decent, overpriced but you can find a treasure or two. Now that is under new management the prices are outrageous. This is a half thrift store and half Costco pallets. The used items are outrageously priced and they lookup on the internet for how much the items are worth and will put them for the internet price or more. I might as well just buy online. They new owners are greedy or just bad business people that don't know how to run a thrift store. This store is under new management, but for the WORSE! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was double or triple the price. I cannot even fathom my experience. It was very messy too, not as clean and organized as the old management had it. The back area of the store looks like a dump - a fire hazard for sure. I will not be back. WORST EXPERIENCE under the new management!! I've been shopping at Value Village for years and this new management is overpricing everything, used donated clothes more expensive than at a retail store. I took a jacket to the register priced at $4.98 and the woman at the register tells me "wrong price" "this new" "DKNY is $29.98 brand name" I'm trying to understand what she's telling me but she rips off the price tag, which is actually stapled to the garment, she crumples up the price tag and puts the jacket behind her. I told her that item is absolutely not new bc it looked used but she said "it's DKNY it's $29.98" at this time an older gentleman comes and tells me the prices seem high but everything is 50% off so I asked isn't that price gouging and then advertising 50% to attract customers but he wouldn't let me talk. Then I asked where is the profit going from this new management and he said "schools and churches" so I asked which ones and he told me "that's private and we cannot tell" at this time the cashier at the other register (a granddaughter I believe bc she kept trying to get his attention while he was talking to me calling him "babba" and something in another language I couldn't understand but she was basically trying to make him stop talking to me, so rude she could've said whatever she wanted in English so I could understand what she was saying but she chose not to) while I talked to the older gentleman she was butting in saying their prices are not high and that they price their items according to what they sell for ONLINE, I said well this is a THRIFT STORE and the items are donated so why are you going by online prices?? She rolled her eyes and started ringing up another customer. When I was exiting the store a woman told me "I'm glad you stood up to them, I can't believe their prices I'm never coming back" I told her I just wanted to understand why their prices are higher and where is the profit going bc maybe it's worth my while but their answers didn't seem satisfactory to me so I'm ALSO NEVER SHOPPING THERE AGAIN!! I also noticed they had racks full of brand new clothing from Costco and maybe Target, like the pallets of overstock or salvaged items that many "bin stores" have so I dunno if they're using the thrift store as a STORE FRONT for their own business of selling pallet items. This place used to be my favorite thrift store but the customer service is absolutely the worst. There's this lady who's cashier with a condescending voice and always has an attitude. I asked for help on an item & she was so unhelpful & i don't know if it's the tone of her voice but she was not helping out in any way. Instead of her assisting she would call any one else to help while she stands there doing nothing... Not only that but the prices here have spiked up. ****Buyers beware**** This place is an absolute rip-off! My mom purchased a microwave from here, and she checked it through to make sure it worked before she bought it. It powered on and the light worked, but when she got home to heat up her food, and the damn microwave did not heat up. She is now still without a microwave and paid for a piece of junk! And the store won't even give a store credit or anything. All they could say is sorry for that! I gave that junk back to them, and no doubt they will just resell it again. This in my opinion is a very underrated spot in Bellflower/Downey area. If you look hard enough you'll find some really good value. I resell and always come across a great selection of things whether it be vintage band shirts for $2, Sony cameras, and much more. The service and ladies who run the store are very nice, and always tell me crazy stories and stuff. I highly recommend this over your good ol goodwill or savers. read more

I bought this sweater in March from this same thrift store. I know it's mine because I changed the buttons. I donated it two weeks ago. They are no selling it for $39.98. This place is terrible. Fascinated by the idea of wearing something that nobody else had. My mom was Not impressed . From then I was constantly going to the thrift stores buying stuff from every era. Big eye art ,vintage shoes, vintage gloves ,vintage toys, vintage jewelry , vintage furniture, vintage decor , and of course homemade pattern outfits! Absolutely no better feeling than finding a one of a kind Vintage item that fits you for $7 ! I remember in Hollywood all my friends were bragging about how expensive their clothes was . I was so stoked because I always had better style than them. I was bragging how my outfit was under 25 bucks that's the true flex . They were wearing Ed Hardy and juicy couture. I was wearing the most darling two-tone 60s mod outfit you've ever seen. You tell me which look stands the test of time. LOL well I guess both. The 90s and 2000s are making a come back . I had to post this review as it has disturbed me for the past few days. Not sure why it's an ONLY CASH place but not sure I saw a not on the door saying cash only; there was a sign that read "no bills over $100" but that doesn't specify it's cash only form of payment. What pushed me to write this review was the rudeness of the MANAGER. I walk in and saw a suitcase. Keep in mind there were no sign stating "Employees Only". An old old lady comes yelling at me saying I am not supposed to be there. I ask her can I purchase this suitcase; she says the "guy" in charge of that item comes in at 11am. I then go to the cashier and purchase something else and kindly ask the cashier if she can help me with the suitcase I had saw. Out of nowhere that manager lady pops up and says it will be available after 11am (in a rude tone). Keep in mind I come back at 12:30pm and ask the cashier if she can help me purchase the suitcase; the cashier brings in the manager and I mention to her she told me to come back after 11am. Her rude response is the guy in charge is busy. Wow where did the respect to help the customer. The bare minimum would have been the manager goes and tells this guy that I have a customer interested in such item. Sadly this experience has lost a customer and really hoping the MANAGER learns to treat all who enter with respect. This place must be a biohazard. It's beyond gross. The location is poorly lit, cluttered, and grimy. Sure, your average thrift store is dirty but this place is filthy. The kind of place that you don't want to touch anything. On the day I came, the ladies at the register were being rude and obnoxious to the customers. One lady was literally yelling at a woman that she was the manager and that it was cash only. It is cash only, but the prices are ridiculous. NO ONE carries that much cash. I overheard the cashier repeatedly and loudly stating as the manager was called over that the customer they were helping didn't have enough money to pay for their stuff...I don't agree with how blatantly obvious the cashier was making the situation. I understand not having enough, but why be so rude about it? I would imagine already having to put items back to compensate for the cost while the line behind you watches was embarrassment enough. Been going to this place for years, there are some employees that are nicer than others, but for the most part, all have been friendly to me. Seen this place with a boarded front door because it was burglarized and the employees say it's happen often. I love the prices, have purchased so many items from here for such good prices and the daily specials of 50% off are fantastic. Clothing is so poorly made nowadays but older pieces, from say 15 years ago, were so well made. Well made clothing today is so expensive but you can find lots of it here . Even when I purchased from retail stores I washed my clothing before wearing it, so here it's no different, so why pay lots more at a retailer. You do have to sift through rack and racks of clothing, so just take some hand sanitizer or handy wipes . You can find something for every room, from housewares, bedding, furniture for indoor & outdoor, handmade crafts, toys and lots of unique stuff. I go often, sometimes I get nothing, sometimes I find amazing pieces. read more
