Beacon House is this very large thrift store. Walking into it, you're immediately amazed at just how large it is and how much stuff they offer. Truly, they really have a lot of stuff! This thrift store is very well organized. Perhaps that's one of the most interesting things about it. They even have their clothing organized by size. So, this makes shopping for that vintage piece of clothing much easier. This is something that few other thrift stores do. And, it's really appreciated. Because, it makes the whole shopping experience, not only easier but more enjoyable. Beacon House has far more than just clothing, however. This shop is stuffed full of all kinds of everything else, from electronics, to kitchen goods, to musical items, to LPs, cassette tapes, pretty much anything you can think of, they've got something. As is the case with all thrift stores, the inventory at this business is constantly changing. So, going in here one day may be very different from going in the next day. I went to the Beacon House Thrift Shop this past weekend! I read the reviews and was sold! I don't normally thrift shop but for some reason I was in the mood. My first instict was that this location would have something that I would like to purchase. I was correct! My older sister, was like look there is a butter dish. It was new and at a relatively good price. I could not say no to not buying it. She then checked the price on this item through Amazon and all I can say is that I scored! This made me want to go out and shop at thrift stores more often. The cashier if I'm not mistaken (Amanda) is really helpful and sweet. She made sure that the two girls before us had help taking their heavy bags out. It's the small things that make a big difference. I would so come again! read more

I love this place! The discounts, the customer service, their mission - it's all good. I've purchased 4 couches over time with them, for under $1,000, and they're great!! I've donated a bunch of stuff, too - always so helpful and nice! I don't really go there for mens clothes, as the selection is kind of sucky, but my wife finds plenty of stuff, and there's a lot of good stuff for the kitchen. I went to the San Pedro location once. Much smaller, but an ok mens clothes selection. If you see something you like, snatch it up, because it's going to be gone pretty quickly! read more

Definitely a good alt to Goodwill now that GW changed their color tag sales to basically non-existent. So stupid. Mostly furniture here honestly more than clothes but they have a huge selection of home goods. I'd come specifically to furnish my apartment. Also a huge supply of records randomly. Update on review because I'm honestly disappointed! This was my favorite store and I used to come here at least once a week. Now I go maybe 1 time every 4 -5 months . Prices have gone up by a lot! This is a thrift store and items are being sold as if the items you're buying are new. I'm disappointed honestly. I'm not well versed in the art of thrifting but I have to say that I was so impressed with this thrift store and will return to it anytime I need to meet my thrifting needs. My guy and I were in search of a new coffee table that we could also use as a dinner table to place at his studio, this was the first shop we stopped by and we were sold as soon as we got to the furniture section. We found a nice table, right a way, and it was only 25 bucks! We interacted with about 3 different employees but one definitely stands out. I wish I remembered his name but he had the greatest smile and coolest tattoo and was super friendly and helpful. I don't know if I'll ever identify as a thrifter but if I do, it'll be because of this store. read more

They have clothing, household goods, electronics, furniture, etc. They have daily discounts but some of their items seem to be priced on the higher end. I have very rarely written reviews on Yelp...maybe once or twice. I'm mostly writing now to commend the guys that work at Beacon House. I say, without exaggeration, that the level of customer service and general friendliness you will find while shopping here exceeds most, if not all, major department stores and other retail establishments by a long shot. I'm actually always kind of amazed. Bravo. I've had people there call me by name on more than one occasion. (OK, maybe I'm popping in too much...) Just can't say enough about the great guys that work here in Long Beach and at the San Pedro store. Golden. As a store... I'm obsessed. Reminds me of what thrift stores used to be before they all decided they were actually precious antique/collectible/Ebay stores. Everything here is either on sale every day or soon will be. The prices start out very reasonably and just go down from there. Can't imagine why anyone is complaining about the prices. Always helpful, willing to answer any questions or even help locating your categories of personal treasure. I have visited this place serval times . This time in particular I was greeted by Robert . He noticed by my tattoo I was a barber, and I think that immediately brought him to share that he was one as well. More importantly his story and the change that the Beacon house has made in his life . Today I realized that the money and support we as a community contribute here makes a huge impact giving back. I stumbled upon this thrift store and ended up spending much of my afternoon in this treasure chest of vintage and delightful finds. I came away with brand new allbirds, life magazines from the 1950s and 1960s, vintage motel soaps and a mixer bowl for my old sunbeam mixer for under $50!!! I signed up for their rewards program because I'm absolutely coming back. I might even come back tomorrow as they get regular deliveries from high end estate sales. To top it all off, every volunteer provided some of the best customer service and professionalism I have ever experienced in any retail or hospitality environment. This place is a hit or miss depending on when you go. That's like any thrift store. Sometimes I go and find a lot of stuff. Some times I leave with nothing. They have random sales where certain items are half off. I try to snatch one of those! Without that sale I think the items can be kind of pricey. The workers are very nice. One time I went there was not a lot of inventory on the racks. Not sure what happened that day! read more
