Worst service ever. Numerous issues. Wrong cabinets sent (no apologies or discounts) took a week to get the correct ones. For every problem they created there was never responsibility taken, rude responses, no customer service. Their mistakes cost us thousands of dollars having to fix them and no credit given, no apology offered. read more

No masks, showroom a jumble, completely ignored and I couldn't seem to get anyone's attention. Multiple misspellings on their website (obvious ones) made me initially think this was a scam. Sadly , I kept going rather than abandoning ship early. Shopping specifically for ArcadeGreen cabinets...not other building supplies so I can't comment on that. I was quoted online for a set of cabinets and upon follow-up found out that these "aren't in stock and we don't know when we will get more." Not helpful when trying to do a job for a client and finding out late in the process I have to start over. All in all, a disaster. COVID related supply perhaps, but don't quote me on what you can't supply. Don't ignore me; wear a mask. And at least give spell check a shot. Honsador and C&C are very little better. A competitive advantage for a new a company who can source quality cabinets with a shred of customer service. Good luck finding cabinets - I'm hoping for some myself. read more

Construction and home renovations are as clear to me as understanding Russian. Stress is also something I'm allergic to, which I've learned if you don't have the right players for your renovation, it's served up to you in copious amounts. Thankfully, Hawaii Building Supply was there to assist my family and I with that. Troy was absolutely amazing throughout our home renovation and made the process of various stages of our renovation easy to understand. Have you ever noticed of how much time you can spend in Home Depot, wandering the aisles wondering of what types of materials you should use or of how everything works? Granted, the specialists there are good but Troy took the time sometimes without notice to meet us there to give us options and advice. His 35 years of experience in the industry shows and if he wasn't with us some of the employees at Home Depot would have given us the run around on finding inventory. We changed and added ideas to our renovation every week and Troy always stopped by our home to monitor progress, followed up quickly, and answered calls all hours of the day to walk us through what would be needed, and got us the materials immediately at reasonable prices. The tile and granite work done in the bathroom and kitchen by his team blew us away. (See photos) If you are doing a home renovation Troy is the man to work with. Dan is awesome!! I had a difficult time finding the Arcade Green product I wanted (the lack of follow up and help at Lowe's was horrific, but that's a review for another day), so I went to Hawaii Building Supply where I met Dan. Dan took the time to understand what I was looking for, and while he was out of the product, he took the extra step to find the product in a canceled order that he remembered! Not only that, he sought out a discount that i qualified for, and also took the additional step of recommending an installer for me who also ended up being awesome! But wait there's more! Dan not only ensured the installer was able to pickup the flooring in a timely manner, but when I went back to Dan mentioning I forgot to purchase a floor transition piece, Dan threw it in for free! I have already recommended Dan to several friends including one who had a very large flooring project, and she too has been very pleased with his outstanding customer service! Kudo's to Dan for going the extra mile to provide exemplary customer service!! Note: Dan took over around December 2021 to turn things around for Hawaii Building Supply as service was bad before. Working with Hawaii Building Supply has been an absolute nightmare. I purchased flooring and a bathroom vanity/countertop from these guys and couldn't believe how many things went wrong. Flooring: I prepaid for my flooring. When my contractor went to pick it up, the salesperson informed my contractor that that someone had sold it. This caused a 1 week delay to my renovation. Bathroom Vanity/Countertop: There were THREE fabrication problems with my bathroom vanity and countertop... 1. The countertop was 1/2 inch too short! 2. The advertised SIX drawer vanity only contained FOUR drawers. 3. The advertised SIX drawer vanity with shaker panels only contained FOUR shaker panels. When I notified HBS of all problems with my bathroom vanity, the salesperson very apologetic and arranged to have a repairman to fix the problems. The repairman came to my house, quickly fixed the countertop, and gathered his things to leave. Before he left, I pointed out that he was supposed to install two more drawers and two more shaker panels. He kept arguing with me that the vanity was only supposed to have four drawers even though I showed him the picture and description of the SIX drawer vanity on the HBS website. He left without repairing the drawers or shaker panels. I called HBS to explain the situation. Again, the salesperson was very apologetic and arranged to have the repairman come back and fix both problems. This time the repairman came to my house over and hour late. He quickly installed the two drawers, and gathered his things to leave. Before he left, I pointed out that he was supposed to install two more shaker panels. He kept arguing with me that the vanity was only supposed to have four shaker panels even though I showed him the picture and description of the SIX drawer vanity with shaker panels on the HBS website. He left without repairing the shaker panels (Do you sense a pattern here?). I called HBS to explain the situation. Again, the salesperson was very apologetic and wanted to arrange to have the repairman come back and fix the problems. This time I didn't schedule the repairman. I mean, screw it, it's only cosmetic at this point. It's not worth dealing with these people anymore. I've wasted SO much of my time trying to fix this already. I will never purchase anything from HBS ever again. I mean, how badly can you mess up a cookie-cutter vanity?? And how many times can you send your repairman and have him NOT fix the problems?? Bottom line: these guys are just a bunch of clowns selling cabinets and flooring. read more

We purchased kitchen and bathroom cabinets from Hawaii Building Supply back in June, and only after threatening action did we finally receive the last item on our invoice at the end of October. This was just one of many issues we had working with HBS. Here are some others: 1) We ordered white cabinets, and the whites were not consistent from one cabinet to the next. 2) The finish on the drawers and cabinets was not consistent. Some feel smooth and others feel rough on the outside. 3) We purchased a pantry, and the holes in it which allow different levels of shelving, do not line up correctly. This makes some of the holes useless and instead of having 5 possible levels, there are only 3. 4) The overall construction of the cabinets was not very good, according to my contractor. There were screws sticking out in the back, making it hard to put the cabinets flush against the wall and creating extra work for my contractor during installation. 5) Only 3 months into using them, some cabinet doors are becoming loose because the screws at the hinges are not holding. 6) For weeks, our voice mails and texts were ignored as we tried to get the final piece of our order. The published phone number was not in service. In general, there was a lack of customer service once they had our payment. The two stars are because from the outside, the cabinets look decently nice. However, we ran into enough issues that I would not recommend HBS. Our contact, Olya, talked down on other cabinet companies as part of her sales strategy. However, buyers should be aware that HBS has its own issues and probably isn't that different from the other cabinet companies that she warned us to stay away from. read more

The cabinets I bought from their location on Maui were pretty lame in several ways. Salesperson didn't tell me I was buying cheap stuff, and I couldn't tell either (even by looking at the price) until the installation process, which exposed lots of problems. The factory assembly didn't line up drawer and sink facings, doors that would hit other cabinets when they opened, and gaps that required crooked mounting to align. There was no glue attaching the various parts of single cabinets together, and when we contacted the company, they insisted they DID use glue (we looked again and couldn't find any), and also just said that any problems found should be assigned to the installer. I would not recommend that anyone work with this company. read more

It's been a few months since the White Ash Floors have been installed in my kitchen . I want to say How Much I Love this flooring ! It not only looks Great and is easy to clean ( just a damp microfiber cloth ) but the surprise to me was how nice it feels on the feet ! The liner underneath gives it just enough spring so that I don't have to have rubber mats everywhere And it's always a good temperature on the feet too ! This floor has really "lightened up " my kitchen in many ways ! And the Wonderful fact that it is positive for the environment too - what a Blessing! You were so nice to work with , Olga. I wanted to replace some old vinyl flooring and carpet in our home with something that was dog friendly and easy to maintain. Olay in the downtown showroom was friendly and helpful in explaining the benefits and resiliency of the luxury vinyl plank flooring. I purchased about 1300 sq ft of the rustic pine and picked it up at their airport warehouse. Installation was fairly easy and I would highly recommend attending one of their free Saturday installation classes if you plan to do it yourself. My only issue is that the pattern of natural wood markings repeats fairly often and I really had to try to make sure I didn't put two of the same pattern planks right next to each other. But overall the floor looks great and shows no signs of scratches or wear even after the 60lbs bulldog struggled to adjust from running on carpet to the new floor. read more

I contacted 4 flooring companies and HBS had the best prices by far. On top of that, they were super responsive and very diligent in their work and service. They were always accessible by phone and moved quickly to quote me prices and do an inspection. Their showroom is very nice and they have large layouts of their materials (vs other places that just have a small tile). They also do installation; their guys were ready in 2 days and got the job done in 1.5 days. I still cant believe the whole process took less than a week! read more

Awesome Place, awesome staff. As a DIY'er this place is fantastic. Best quality cabinets, these are not cheap particle board/mdf....real wood. Extremely helpful is assisting with sizing...and they deliver! Went with the solid white for a modern look. Also the flooring cannot be beat! Thick waterproof luxury vinyl with the look and feel of real wood. We went with the coco hickory and couldn't be happier. This type of flooring is a must if ground level/concrete sub-floor. Hawaii gets wet and there have been a few times were water has entered...a laminate floor or even wood would have been damaged...not with this stuff. Water sits right on top..wipe away...DONE...brand new again. As you can see with the pictures, the products are top notch, it helps when the staff knows what there doing. Going back to them again to remodel another section of the house, I wouldn't go anywhere else!!! MAHALO HBS! read more
