Arcade Monsters!! There are over 200 games & many can only be found in Japan. I had so much fun playing my vintage favorite games like street fighter and halo and I got to play some new to me games as well. $25 for all you can play arcade games! Super fun and interactive place. It can be very loud in here so just be prepared for a lot of audio & visual stimulation! There's also a few basketball and skeeball games that were super fun and addictive as well. So if you love arcade games, this is definitely a great spot for you to enjoy in downtown SD. They have food and drinks as well. We didn't try the food, but the mojito was tasty & I also had a white claw. Parking is a little tough in this area. Using a ride service or taking the trolley might be a good idea. Peace.

    Cool elevator

My fiancé and I came here on a Thursday night and it was honestly better than on a weekend. We had the BEST experience ever! Our inner child came out and we had so much fun walking around and playing different games separately and also against each other. Also, my drink was really good haha. Super cool inside for IG pictures.

Huge place. The decor is awesome.

This is a fun place. It's not cheap but it's a lot of fun and there are enough games here to keep you occupied for three or four hours, easily. There are two levels and plenty to explore on each level. There are nooks and crannies here and there with games you might miss if you don't turn this or that corner. At this time, it's $25 per person (before taxes) and you get unlimited games. There are plenty of video games and pinball machines, too. There is air hockey and skee-ball and many other types of games. Most of them were in working condition but a few were not. The games should obviously be in working condition before the place opens but hey, quality control isn't always what it should be. They offer snacky foods and booze, of course, but I didn't try anything. The decor is very cool. It is kind of psychedelic and fun. This is right by the ballpark and parking is tough to find. We parked a few blocks away on the street (metered parking). There really are very few places in San Diego to play video games and pinball so it's nice to have a place like this available. We spent about 3 plus hours here and the time just flew by. If we didn't have other plans, we would have stayed longer. Unfortunately, there are no in-and-out privileges, so keep that in mind.

Awesome concept in gaslamp right near petco park! This place has soo many games with a really cool retro set-up-- several different rooms, layouts, and a variety of old-school games. There's several games I've never seen before, always something different. $25 to get in and free play is a great idea. Their drinks were good and they have some classic American bar style food that is good too. Totally will return!

The service was super great. I will come back again . The bartender was super sweet. It's 25 dollars which is super cheap.

    Art!

The drinks were fun and the games were endless! First time here and had a BLAST! 10/10 art was amazing

    Amazing!

I am excited to say that this is the best spot to check out when you're in San Diego! It's the best I'm telling you!!!!!!

I am a huge fan of arcades, but something that I hate is spending money or credits every time that you want to play a game, that's why Monsters became a huge favorite of mine! You pay a flat rate of $25 and can play as long as you desire! The place is so vibey! They have huge murals and black lights which makes the place super fun!!! They have a huge lineup of games you can play, from the classics to a huge selection of modern games I've never even heard of! I wish they had more of the classic American ones like Dave and busters but this is just me being picky. All of the machines work pretty well, and they're not jammed or broken like most of the arcades in San Diego lol. They also have some food and drinks, I did not get to try them this time but I am very excited to go back and try everything!

Great atmosphere and very aesthetically pleasing, loved all the games, great selection and everything is well maintained/in great condition, on top of that staff is nice, will return

Such a cool place. It's 2 floors, i believe $25 per person for unlimited games. They have a bar, with non-alcoholic drinks. I did she 1 or 2 kids there which is funny because we were there around midnight but for sure more of an adult vibe. Great photo ops. Glad we stumbled across this place. Way better than just standing around at a bar

What a fun place to ring in the New Year! $25/person for unlimited play at the 2 floor arcade space. We got there around 8:30pm and yea, we played 3 hours straight and finished around 11:30 and then rang in the new year at stroke of midnight. I played my favorite game, DDR. Check my video. lol!

So fun! Went with my family ages 23-63! It was $25 to come in. Super fun vibe!! Would go again

Ask the Community - Arcade Monsters

Is there a DanceRush Stardom machine here?

Yes, there are two of them

    Are kids allowed?

What time is the cut off for kids not allowed?

    What are the hours?

    Daily: 10am - 2am

How's the line on Thursday nights?

Fridays and Saturdays are obviously the worst. On weeknights though, I’ve at times been able to park directly in front of the door and just walk in. Thursdays will most likely be a middle ground between the two.

Where can you park? Is it hard to find parking?

Limited street parking, pay parking lots, parking structures, and hotel valet service are around downtown San Diego's Gaslamp District and East Village areas.

What is the price structure to play the games?

    Free play with admission.

We waited about 5 minutes for someone to finally come around and he goes "It always does that" We expected a refund or something, but nothing. For $5 a picture, what a rip off. If it doesn't work "All the time" how about fixing it and putting an "Out of order" sign on it, so you don't waste $5 on a picture you can't use? Terrible customer service.

I used the card on one of the games but the game was not responding. I tried again and still no response. I decide to go to the counter to see if someone could either take a look at the game or if i could get the credits back. I get to the counter and see 3 or 4 workers just standing there talking, no one acknowledges me. I look around some more and see one worker on the far left helping some customers and another worker on the far right helping some other people. Ok, I'm assuming there's two lines and the 3 or 4 other employees are just taking a break or something. Not a big deal, so i get in the line to the far right. There is one person currently being helped, two teens and then me. The employee finishes with the first customer and then helps the two teens. He finishes with them and when he gets to me he just turns and walks away. He does not say a word, just turns and walks away. A simple "I'll be back in a minute" or even just putting your hand up and saying "gimme a sec" would be totally fine. Instead, no communication, just walks away. I told the group of 3 or 4 people just standing there that I needed assistance and one of them went to refill my card. As i was waiting the guy who was serving the line on the far left came over and asked if I needed help. He was really friendly (he looked Asian or Mexican). Anyways, he's the only reason I'm giving that place two stars instead of one.

And then with a smile said the list of rides that were closed. And then said " we are short staffed and due to that we do not have employees at the rides once they get here at 12:30 then you'll be able to get on the rides" I looked at my 10-year-old and said OK we'll go walk the beach and get a bite to eat until they open up. Guess what the staff never got there! Honestly, he thought it was funny when he told me that we weren't going to be able to get on rides until the other staff got there. There were a few rides like the mini dipper and the carousel. But who buys wristbands to get on a couple rides and then get on the bumper cart. If that's the case then I would've just bought individual tickets. LET YOUR GUEST KNOW AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU ARE SHORT STAFFED AND THE PARK WILL NOT BE RUNNING AS USUAL!! I had to keep looking for staff to let us on rides and then even then I wasn't able to get on every ride. I do want to point out that I'm a single mom and low income and this was supposed to be something amazing for us. $100 to Belmont Park is absolutely nothing but for me it is. And just FYI, I a lot of people kept leaving the park upset. But for them, they didn't purchase wristbands. We waited till after 5 PM hoping that as the shift changed employees would come and open up all of the rides, but that never happened. I was hoping to get my money back for the wristband, but because the employee at the counter was so aggressive I was honestly afraid to go up and ask for a refund. I'm hoping Belmont Park will make this right and provide my daughter and I with an opportunity to return to Belmont Park at no charge to us and be able to get on the rides.
