On a random night after dinner we decided to play a few games to get our competitive juices flowing. Compared to the downtown location it is much smaller however, it had all the nostalgic games to keep us entertained between pin ball, basketball as well as the classics like street fighter, ninja turtles, etc. Since it is a smaller location we ended up chatting with the staff and they were extremely friendly. Why did it take us so long to come here?! The bouncer/security guard is the friendliest and most kind on this side of the Mississippi. Two bartenders on a Saturday did not seem sufficient. There was a long wait for drinks. After we grabbed drinks we maneuvered to the back patio. The Giant Jenga was being utilized so we went back inside. We weaved through the crowd and made our way to the Basketball Hoops. It's not as easy as it looks, our score was not notable but it was still fun challenging each other. We played one round of PacMan, lots of fun. We grabbed our second round of bevies and headed back to the patio. Played three rounds of Jenga, losers had to take shots! Really chill place to get some drinks. Buffalo fries were good, not like blow your mind type, but for a bar, it does its job. Bartenders and employees are super cool and fun to talk to. The music they played The night I went was spot on. They played hip hop rnb, and it was such a vibe. Literally would come back again just for the music and the employees being so easy to talk to. Drinks they made were really good, not super strong, but not very light either. Just right, and very enjoyable. Games - they had some pin ball machines, a claw machine, some arcade retro games like time crisis, 2 of the basketball hoops where you can vs each other, and a cup pong game. It's better to use quarters over dollar bills, because I guess it doesn't register your money sometimes through the bills. There's a change machine that can change your money over too. Bathroom was clean, parking is... well it's north park. But I easily found parking a block walking distance. But there are Ace parking available. Overall, I had fun. Stopped by Saturday night around 6pm and the atmosphere was so much fun. However, our experience with the bartender really left us feeling unwelcome. There were 6 of us and we were all trying to figure out what drinks to order. The bartender asked us what we wanted, some of us were still deciding but it felt like he was in a rush so each of us quickly told him our drink cause it seemed like he wanted to make all of them at all once. While he was making the drinks he did not interact with us at all, he was very focused on the drinks which is fine. As he finishes making the first two he put them in front of us and said the names for both drinks but we only heard the name of the first drink - so as he was starting to prep the next drinks I asked what the name was for the second drink and he was silent (cause he was so focused on making drinks) and then stated the name very with attitude. We then asked if we could add another drink and he looked SO annoyed....and then made a comment about this is why he needs to know ALL the drinks orders up front. After he finished he asked if we wanted to close out but then I noticed we were still missing a beer, he went to pour it and then took our payment. We still tipped him but the whole experience with him made us feel so uncomfortable. Our whole group didn't rush him or anything, I'm not sure why he was so annoyed already and there were plenty of other bartenders standing around it's not like we were holding up the line or something. Super cute spot to check out! It has a ton of games and is very vintage inspired. Most the games are vintage but they do also have some newer style games as well. The prices are super reasonable and they have a machine to produce quarters needed to operate the games. They have little stands in front of all the games to put your drinks. This is definitely an adult style arcade as you did have to be over 21 at night to enter. I also will say the bathrooms were beautiful and they had many stalls so there wasn't an issue of waiting in line as there is at most bars. Reason for 4 stars is that I would worry on nights it's super packed, you would be waiting for games because it is not extremely expansive. The controls for some of the games are off and unresponsive as well. The commands for street fighter barely work. I saw a butterfly rubber ducky that looked cute in a claw machine, and the claw couldn't even reach that far and it wasn't even on the very edge. Plus it was $1 a play for those little rubber duckies. The one positive thing was that the Area 51 game was fun. Now for the drinks... we had a power punch because I thought it would be cute since it was served in a capri sun-like pouch. It cost $12 and there was so little drink in it and it was SUPER weak. Coin-op is such a fun place to start your night out on the town in North Park! This location is fairly smaller than the Coin-Op in Sacramento is, but we still had a good time. The menu here has a good variety of cocktails and shooters, and we tried a mix of drinks. The alcoholic juice pouches were by far our favorite--we ended up ordering several each over the course of the evening. The arcade games are fun and fairly affordable. The only complain is that the space is fairly small and I wish they had more games available.
