After a Wednesday afternoon Padres game, I was looking for place to go that was away from Petco Park to order a Lyft. Coin-Op Gaslamp is conveniently located on the corner of 6th Ave. and F St. Also, they have a patio out front. I strolled in and up to the bar and ordered a beer. I sat out front where I could see in every direction and summoned my Lyft ride. Rush hour traffic combined with Padres traffic gave me time for two beers before my Lyft arrived. Reasonably priced beer. Service at the bar was friendly and the bouncer at the door was a cool dude. read more

Sadly, this place is no longer what it used to be. I don't know when they removed half the games and replaced them with pool tables but now the place is so empty and there are hardly any fun games. What games are left are clearly never cleaned because the handles and joysticks and buttons are all so sticky and dirty. It's also clear that they increased the difficulty levels so you lose faster and pay more to play more. I should not be scrambling on level one of Space Invaders as if it's level 10. The first bartender I saw didn't even look or greet me, even though he passed me 3 times. The second bartender, a female, passed me before I called her and asked if she can take my drink order. I wanted a blonde-style beer and all she recommended was the "coin op" draft which tasted like crap corona. This place just isn't worth it anymore read more

I love the atmosphere. Adults can get in touch with their inner child. I love it... Fried pickles: batter needs more seasoning. They are bland tasting and need to be crispier. Buffalo cauliflower: to die for Buffalo boneless chicken: the buffalo sauce cause be spicier. Other than that, delicious. Fries: YUM, seasoning is spot on Drinks: pricey but delicious. A great experience for a quick stop! While waiting for our room to get ready at our hotel we stopped by. The service was great, friendly bartenders and Security! I only had a beer so i can't speak on their food. Plenty of options in games! My favorite was the Simpsons one and the pinballs. They had a cute Photo Booth in there too. I'd say their prices were super reasonable going from .25 cents to a dollar. I'd suggest bringing cash that way you don't have to use the ATM. Great time id definitely go back. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for drinks, food, and games. This wasn't my first time visiting, but it was my first time trying their food. We ordered the sampler and sauced chicken tenders. Everything was really good, the tenders had great flavor, and most of the sampler hits the mark. One small note, the mac and cheese balls with bacon didn't seem to have much bacon in them. Drinks were solid as well. The arcade selection is awesome, with a mix of "old school" classics and modern games. Came by with a party of 4 this past Saturday and had a blast, playing almost every game in the house (and there were a lot). All of the games seemed to be in working order. I especially enjoyed the space invaders arcade, skeeball, hoops, and pinball (though the guardians of the galaxy machine wasn't that great compared to others I've played elsewhere). It was incredibly crowded, understandably so due to comic-con weekend, but the music was also terribly loud (playing mainly hip hop), you couldn't even hear yourself think, let alone talk to friends and family without yelling. I didn't bother trying to order drinks or food at the bar, as I didn't feel like trying to squeeze myself between other guests nor could I imagine the wait time for food on this busy night. I wish it was cheaper to play the games so it'd last longer. We pretty much ran through our money in 15 minutes. The service was good though, bartender was nice. The drinks were okay priced. This was a fun way to kill an hour with friends. Thankfully we didn't have a problem with the bouncer as some had mentioned. We had leftovers and were allowed to keep them with security while we went inside to play and drink. Fret not if you don't have quarters to play, they had a coin exchanger inside. My only complaint was their beer pong game required singles as opposed to quarters and we had already converted all our dollars. Booths rotated around quickly and servers were very fast with clearing tables. The bartenders were friendly although it was hard to communicate over the blaring music. Menus were provided upon request. I liked the video game themed drinks and they were made strong. My Princess Peach was cloyingly sweet and the peach ring was a tad stale. There was a good variety of games. The more classic arcades games were located on the left with the games progressively becoming more modern towards the right. I had an issue with the skee ball machine where it ate up 50 cents. The beer pong machine also concluded our game early despite having 10+ balls left. The coin exchanger and bathrooms were in the middle. Interestingly, multiple people in our party complimented the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The area wasn't the largest but we were still entertained by the choices available. I would probably touch up on the alcohol drinks to make this a better experience though. read more

I came here with a large group for a conference social. The food was the best I had the whole conference. The pizza was delicious; thin crust while still cheesy. The fried chicken and burger sliders were both very good respectively. Even the bacon Mac n cheese bites were tasty. read more

I think this is my third time here, and it's always a fun spot. You exchange cash for quarters, and most of the machines cost between 50 cents to a dollar to play. The selection is decent, and the drinks are reasonably priced. Overall, it's a nice place to kill an hour or two before heading to your next destination. read more

So this establishment get 5 start because the bouncer carded me and my hubby..... Out oldest son was older than the bouncer, but kudos he was doing his job. So on our stroll of the gaslamp we came across this place and decided to go in and see what it was all about. It is the coolest grown folks arcade. They had all the old time games from back in the day and a row of pinball machines. the atmosphere was lively and upbeat with a live DJ spinning the ones, and twos. It is a 21 year and older place due to the bar located in the center of the arcade. This looked like a really cool place to hang out and have some fun, so maybe next time we will bring change and play a few games. read more

I've had this place on the bookmarks for a while and finally made it in for Free play! The last Sunday of the month all day! We arrived before the crowds gathered and had a blast. All the traditional arcade games oldies but goodies. Everyone is carded at the entrance and needs to be 21+ to enter. It's great for us kids at heart who enjoy arcades. To name a few: Pinball, ski ball, hoops, space invaders, the Simpsons, ninja turtles, Mario kart and where I spent the most time.. Area 51. I used to love this game and had fun getting all the zombies! Nice bar area with the game on the screens. Food and drink menus with happy hours available. There's also tables for larger groups with a nice view of downtown. Patio seating also available. Service was welcoming and friendly. The downtown area adds to the ambiance. Super fun place! Our group was looking for a chill evening out in the Gas Lamp and one of the guys found Coin-Op online. It was our first stop out in the evening. We have something similar in downtownPhoenix, but not as large (square footage wise) or expansive, and certainly not as affordable. There's no table service- you get your ID checked at the door and order everything at the bar. They have a fairly robust drink list - lots of local craft beers, some domestics, and fun cocktails. I didn't get a chance to order food but the menu is pretty standard fare for an arcade. The bartenders were super nice! There's a good mix of arcade games, carnival games and pinball. For the few hours we were there I may have spent $20. Definitely intrigued to check out their other location next time I'm in town. read more

Absolutely love this spot! Everytime I go to a Padres game with friends I come here after to play games and get a snack! It's very spacious and open in this arcade with a few booths to sit down and tables to sit down to eat and drink! The arcade games cost 25 cents to a dollar, which I think is great compared to other overpriced arcades. This place has $2 slices of pizza which is a steal and the pizza is delicious! The prices of beer and drinks honestly aren't too bad here either. Service is typically pretty quick. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. Who doesn't love games?! read more
