Was there for septoplasty and turbinate reduction by Dr. Battaglia. The place is on the older side, but that is okay as it is literally 5 minutes from where I live. Since I already done most of the paperwork initially via online (it helps a lot btw), my initial process was all pretty straight forward, despite how much my anxiety was spiking. Before I know it, I was laying in the bed in a hospital gown, waiting for Dr. Battaglia and the anesthesia doctor (sorry I forgot your name) to visit me prior to surgery. When they came, we a small discussion and that was it. Waited for about a little over an hour, but it didn't feel like it at all. Then I was rolled into the surgery room. New for me, bright lights, other nurses about... the usual. Before too long, I was out already as the anesthesia is applied. I had a tough time waking up. I remember a few things, hearing my mom's voice as well as the post-op nurse, Diana, trying to wake me up but I had trouble coming to. Definitely different. I remember (I think) being given another IV on top of other medication(s) in attempt to stabilize my vitals and wake me up, which I finally did wake up. Groggy as all heck and feeling like crap. I felt something was off but I couldn't put my finger on it. However, my vitals were eventually good enough for discharge, so I was released to my mom while the post-op nurse rolled me out to our car. As soon as I tried to stand up, I threw up trying. My post op nurse apparently suspected this would happen as I swallowed blood (among other icky stuff) during surgery that made me feel worse. She had prepared a few things just incase I did vomit going to the car, which I did. They tried to induce that out while I was waking up, in the post-op area but I couldn't until I was trying to stand up and move. A day later, I got a call from the place, specifically Diana, my post-op nurse asking how I was doing. My guess is, it is protocol but regardless if it is or not, I appreciate the gesture. I was doing better but still feeling out of it. She mentioned, most likely I am sensitive to anesthesia so, I should definitely let the doctors know next time. Which I will :p While, I don't plan on going to be here multiple times, but being my first experience, everything was positive. Front desk lady was nice, things are a bit old but lets be honest here, not a lot of places like this are brand spanking new. My experience was great though, and that is what counts. Nurses and doctors are often overworked and stressed, some can be mean and make mistakes but they're human. Treat them kindly. read more

This place is such a gem. Check in was easy. The nurses are all so nice. The anesthesiologist gave me the best nap of my life. I went home a couple hours later with zero symptoms, my throat wasn't sore as it can be sometimes when you are put under. I wasn't nauseous. My recovery has been fast. I hope that more doctors will choose a surgery center like this in the future. I will definitely consider them for any other surgeries I might have. read more

I would decline surgery if this was the only place available next time. Horrible experience. The receptionist was cold and nasty. The place is dark and dirty looking. The nurses aren't any better. With a broken wrist, I was ordered to get my head to the end of the bed for surgery. I told the nurse I had a broken wrist and couldn't move my frail 95 pound frame. She grabbed my gown by the neck and started to yank my up, lost her grip and socked me on the side of my face. I'm NOT making this up!! I felt like a piece of meat in a sausage plant. Wheel on e in wheel one out and wheel the next in. No bedside manners at this place. I typically let God handle my gripes and leave them to myself, but this place is so awful I had to leave a review. I had a serious eye surgery.. I hurt super bad after surgery. They just escorted me out still under the anesthesia. With a 2 1/2 hour ride home, I asked for a pillow so I could lay down in the back seat of the car. NO!! Pillows aren't offered as part of their service. My exceptional, brilliant surgeon has heard about my experience and will hopefully offer more surgery options at Jules Stein Eye Institute and cut this place out of her options. read more

We had trouble with our insurance (LA Care/Optum) as they suspended our insurance with no explanation. We tried to resolve prior to my husband's procedure at this facility, and they said they would. Having issues with our insurance in the past, we called to make sure it was resolved. It wasn't! We got here and spoke to Fernando G. and he got it resolved right away! I can't praise him enough! My husband went through a day of prep for the test so we didn't want to reschedule. This facility is lucky to have Fernando G. Five stars!! read more

She's the rudest person I've ever came across thankfully I don't have to come back and deal with her!!!!! The tone she speaks to patients or especially people who speak minimal English is disgusting. Unfortunately, the nurse, Yvonne, that answered wasn't in the mood to be at work and told me to basically refer to my paperwork. I let her know the reason I was calling was because it wasn't on there. She finally looked it up, but wow the unkindness was extreme. I had cataract surgery on my right eye on August 12, 2024 at the Arcadia Outpatient Surgery Center. Dr. Victoria Yom was my surgeon. She is excellent as she also did same surgery on my left eye almost 2 years ago. My operative eye is still on the process of healing but I already could see a big difference. My anesthesiologist ( sorry, I forgot his name) was very nice & he kept me comfortable all throughout the procedure by giving me the "twilight anesthesia." Karen was the registration clerk the day I checked in. At first, she was not that friendly but most probably she was just busy attending to some paperwork of other patients who registered ahead of me. But when my time came to sign the registation papers she called my name and I was able to see her smile and that made me calm down. Azita (RN) was my pre-op nurse. She's very professional and did everything what's required for me prior to surgery. She is kind and patient. Elena, was my post-op RN. She was also very helpful & friendly and was always attentive to my bedside needs. She gave me discharge instructions to follow and wheeled me out for discharge. This was my second experience at the Arcadia Outpatient Surgery Center and my experience is great. I highly recommend this facility. read more

I was the first appointment in the morning at 6AM so not many people were there yet but they opened up at 6 right on time and everything went good and smooth. Parking was easy and free. No problems or delays at all. Everyone was nice. I feel that probably not many people that have good experiences bother putting a review so you will see some negative ones which people will tend to be more likely to put, but they are probably not many compared to all the people that they end up seeing, so I wanted to add my positive review here. They even followed up with a call afterwards to see how you are doing so it was generally pretty good overall. read more

My mother came here for a colonoscopy. luckily her surgery went well HOWEVER, it is impossible to get ahold of the doctors or anyone. All my mother needed was a doctor's note excusing her from her strenuous work which was recommended by the doctor not to do any strenuous work after 3 days. After her surgery they went over what was provided on the paper specifically saying not to jog or run. I asked them if my mother would be alright if she was fast walking 8 hours during her working hours and they said they can not answer that, the doctor could and I could call MICHAEL CHU on the number provided on the paper. I called that number getting a voicemail after only 2 rings. I ended up calling Michael Chu's office (that was added to the voicemail) and after leaving a voicemail regarding my question after 2 days he never responded. My mother showed up their office to ask for the doctor's note, once for a short time. The next day she went back and waited an hour and a half until she went up to them demanding the note. Imagine waiting 3 days for a doctor's note. If there was a complication and it wasn't as simple as a doctor's note, a patient could seriously end up in danger if they continued not caring for you at all. And yes they do have a post op call but the person calling could not answer the only question I had regarding fast walking, directing me to the office once again. I told them that I have and they said they're not part of the office and it's a separate system, so the "post-op call" would be basically worthless if there was a complication as well. read more

I had two surgeries here within the last 4 years and both times the experience was excellent. I was taken in on time and given kind and empathic care from every staff member. My second surgery was during COVID so no-one except for the patient was allowed inside which was fine because all employees were so sweet, efficient and made me feel safe. read more

If I could give zero stars I would, first of all the person in the front Named Karen was rude she was talking about how my dad was going to pay for his surgery out loud for everyone to hear of that patient's business and then she was just making fun of this whole situation like if we couldn't hear. I feel that that's so unprofessional of her and the way that she talks about patients out loud for everyone to hear it's rude. I just came to this place because of Doctor Jones which he's the best and he has done the second surgery to my dad as well but I preferred the other surgery place where Doctor Jones did the first surgery. Definitely not coming to this place again and please think of it twice coming here unless the front person is moved out then I'll give it another chance but other than that, we're not coming back again. read more

Excellent quality of care before, during and after surgery, including the office staff. Had a hiccup w a billing manager when she returned my call w a chip on her shoulder, which I unsuccessfully tried to knock off and in the end hung up on her - partly because it was too early for me the day after Xmas - not caught up on my sleep. But Coordinator Fernando, whom I had also called to pay off my balance, listened to my message to call after lunch and had a wonderful and appreciative attitude that I had called to pay my bill. After U told him I had left my ringer on as we're on a waitlist to foster/adopt and if we miss a call, they move on to the next person on the list, he was even more sympathetic, and at the end of our conversation, wished us a Happy NY & good luck w our adoption. Our first experience with Arcadia Outpatient Surgery Center - it was wonderful most especially as this is the time of COVID. The staff followed up well with scheduling (actually moving her surgery earlier twice which was awesome), COVID testing, and all paperwork. We did the drive-through COVID testing for my daughter and the nurses were amazing. They were caring and kind with such an uncomfortable and invasive test. However, she tested negative which was great! My daughter was a patient of Dr. Alexis Riber, ENT, who reduced my daughter's enlarged turbinates, removed both adenoids, cleared her blocked sinuses, and corrected a deviated septum. Both Dr. Rieber and the nurses followed up with me after the surgery and provided post-operative care instructions verbally and in writing. Additionally, the surgery center followed up with a phone call a few days after the procedure and with a postcard. The staff was so kind, caring, and professional. I appreciated the care that they took to keep my daughter safe especially during this difficult time of COVID. Two weeks post-surgery and my daughter already feels so much better!! read more

My grandfather was a patient at Arcadia, and they gave him excellent care.

If you want really poor service or to be discriminated against I recommend coming here. For a simple doctor's note, it took my mom nearly 2 hours to obtain when it could have been done in a few minutes. Especially when there is little to no patients in the office. After a colonoscopy, my mom requested for a doctor's note to provide her work stating she cannot work for the next two days (she's on her feet all day long). The administrative staff at the front desk said the doctor is not in so they cannot give her the note. Instead, she was told to come in the following day at 9:30am to get the note. She said fine and left the venue. The following day, my mom showed up at 9:30am on the dot. She was the only patient in the waiting room at that time. When she went to speak with the administrative staff working at the front desk for the doctor's note, they said Dr. Michael Chu was busy and to wait. And wait she did. My mom ended up waiting over an hour and 30 mins. before going back to the front desk asking for assistance once more because a severe headache appeared. The administrative staff dismissed her request and told her to wait again. Only when my mom mentioned about her severe headache did the staff begin to take action. Within a few minutes, the staff got the note from the doctor and gave it my mom. What should have been a quick trip to the doctor's office ended up taking nearly 2 hours. read more

Came here for Endoscopic sinus surgery. Once I got past the front desk, the doctors and nurses were very kind, knowledgeable, and informative. Woke up from procedure, came to my senses, was given as much time as needed. Post instructions and prescriptions were given to my wife and I was sent on my way. BUT....there was the Front Desk experience. After signing in and sitting down, I was called to the counter by Karen. She asked for my ID and confirmed my contact info. At the time my insurance was being transferred through COBRA, and though I had coverage, the process would not be completed until Monday morning (I was here on a Friday). Karen stated I would have to pay upfront with my credit card, except for the anesthesiologist which would be $800 cash. No problem, I was told about this ahead of time. BUT, when I simply asked her how I could then get an itemized bill so I could submit the claim to my insurance for reimbursement, she immediately became defensive and angry. She yells at me, "I cant give you anything for the anesthesiologist because they do their own billing". Um, ok so where is the proof that I paid for it? "Well I dont know, you can try and call us back next week and see", she says. See what? After some back and forth, and her becoming even more angry, she whips out a hand written receipt pad, and scribbles off a receipt for $800 and writes my name on it. Just a generic receipt, no company name, no contact numbers, nothing. Like a receipt someone would give you at a garage sale. She storms off into an office, shaking her head and mumbling under her breath about me. All of this as I am minutes away from going under the knife, as if I didn't have enough stress already. Fast forward a couple weeks and I'm trying to track down the documents needed so I can submit to insurance. Come to find out, the Surgery Center filed a claim with my insurance for 10x the amount I paid them upfront. How, I dont know, because they refused to take my insurance information at the time. So I call to find out about being refunded. The lady on the phone immediately takes the same angry attitude as I had experienced at the front desk. She says that once they receive the check from insurance, they will send me a refund (even though I can see insurance sent them a check 10 days ago). I ask her how much the refund is...and its much less than what I paid. Wait, what? Then she starts in on the anesthesiologist thing again. She says I have to contact them directly and sort it out. But I don't have any contact info remember? Her answer is, "well I don't know, you'll have to figure it out". She then says that Karen would have that info but I "will have to call back another time to speak with her". I ask her if there is a supervisor I can speak with, she states that she is the office manager. So again, I ask to speak with her boss. She refuses to tell me the lady's name, though finally gives me a first name and tells that she is the office for 1/2 hour every day. So when should I call? "You'll just have to try and call tomorrow and see if she is in". I ask to be transferred to her voice mail, and so then she then hangs up on me. Wow. I can't believe the anger and unprofessionalism that was spewed at me by both of these people. I mean, people are coming in for surgical procedures and, in my instance, paying out a lot of $$. Maybe try a little compassion and kindness? Ironically, there is large wood sign that sits behind the front desk that reads "laugh more, love more, live more". Maybe they have forgotten its there. read more

Arrived with my husband to have his surgery , but the receptionist an older lady with blond hair welcomed us with a big time unfriendly, rude , unprofessional attitude, she is not fit to work in this healthcare system that is not making the patient and family to be upset and to have a peaceful procedure, I do not know her name but she is in the front on Tuesday. Go elsewhere!! Be forewarned. Unless you want to be over drugged. Several patients here were so sedated after surgery for more than 2 hours! I even warned the anesthesiologist to use the least amount possible since my mom is super sensitive. Also it's a zoo here. My daughter had a surgery here last week and I must say everyone from the front desk to the nurses are amazing. I do think since covid is here they should let people know only 1 person per patient but I won't complain because they were super patient and caring to my child. I had a outpatient procedure here recently,I have to say I was nervous. When I was taken in to pre op to get prepared I was still nervous. Brandon came to greet me and explain what was happening. I have to say he was wonderful he had the perfect personality to get patient prepared. After a few minutes I wasn't as nervous and knew I was in good hands. Once I was taken away I was greeted by Michael who was also nice and had a great personality,it was a great experience over all. My procedure went well. I wasn't going to write this review at first, but after I thought about, I think I should share my experience. I dropped off my dad here in September 2014 for some procedures; my parents went into the building first and started the check-in process. The receptionist gave my dad some forms to fill out, before my dad sign them, I asked him to let me look at the form, I noticed one of the form he was getting ready to sign was titled Financial Responsibility. The receptionist asked my relationship to the patient, I responded, daughter; after my dad sign the "financial responsibility" form, she wanted me to sign under titled "guarantor" and her explanation was since you translated, I'm going to have you sign as a translator. I asked her, you have me sign under guarantor, what does that mean?! She replied, oh, it doesn't mean anything; she then cross out the word "guarantor" and put translator next to it. Here's my problem with the whole situation - my parents doesn't not speak English that well and you can tell by talking to them, one of it is because my dad kept having this "deer in the headlight" look. Anyways, that's not the point here. I felt the receptionist was trying to have me sign the financial responsibility form as a guarantor, if I didn't question about it, she would of just let it go as me the guarantor. I have translate for my parents many time and I don't remember ever have to sign on the form as a translator. My feeling is that, since I have to sign as a translator, please don't let me take your job or your contractors' job away - get you own translator next time! I knew exactly what "guarantor" means - I used it on my contract and I get asked about it and that's why I asked the receptionist what it means. I guess what I'm trying to say here is, make sure you read before you sign anything type of form or legal documents. Another thing - maybe I was being a little sensitive. After she was almost done with us, another older asian couple walk in, the receptionist asked if they were with us l?! I simply replied, I only have patience for two old people this morning. I mean really?! They came in about 5 minutes after we did and when they walked in, I looked at them because the front door was right in-front of the entrance, but there were not words exchanged. Seriously, in case you forget, your facility is located in Arcadia and there are good amount of Asians in this area. Since I was not at the receiving end of any procedures being done here, I can't comment on their service, well, besides the check-in part. read more

My 4 year old son had surgery at this facility on Thursday morning and we were all VERY nervous being that he was going to be put under. Everyone from the nurses to his amazing Dr. Michael Burnstine did and was AMAZING and VERY PATIENT with him. Very informative and knowledgeable. My issue and the reason I will only be rating this place 1 star is the front desk, Karen. She called me up to check in my son. Myself & husband came up. Our drs. Office let us know the day prior that we were going to be needing form of payment for copay & form of ID. As far as insurance went, EVERYTHING WAS VERIFIED AND TRANSFERRED OVER TO THIS FACILITY. Then Karen informed us we needed to show her our insurance card to make a copy??? I very kindly told her we didn't have a hard copy, my husband has it electronically in his phone. She very rudely stated that she needed a copy. In my head I'm thinking FOR WHAT??? Everything is verified as far as insurance goes AND my drs. Office faxed all paper work over. I then told her we were told all we needed was form of payment and ID. My husband offered to e mail to her directly, she then said "they have a firewall and it probably won't go through." My husband sent it right over and she then stated that the image was too big.....It's 2020 I think it was going to be a no brainer the image was going to be a lot larger than needed and EVERYONE should know how to minimize an imagine?? So she then printed our insurance card to show us it was large & tossed paper to the side. We stood there not sure what she was going to say. Take in mind, we drove from SANTA CLARITA all the way to Arcadia on a THURSDAY for my 4 year old son who was going to be put under and had been fasting!!!!! She then made a comment "Incase of a car accident it's very important and need to carry our insurance card in our wallet at all times." UMMMM EXCUSE ME WHEN THERE IS ANY KIND OF ACCIDENT THE MEDICAL INSURANCE CARD IS THE LAST THING LOOKED UPON AFTER A TRAGIC ACCIDENT. EVERYONES SAFTEY IS PRIORITY. Insurance, is all sorted out after everyone is safe and admitted. Fast forward, she took our payment and everything was good to go and my son was checked in. Shortly after our check in experience, a woman was being checked in and did not have her insurance card with her at all. The women then told Karen she's positive her drs. Office can email or fax it over. Karen politely said "it's okay" and went forward with checking her in!!! WHY WAS IT THAT EASY FOR ONE PERSON VERSES MYSELF AND HUSBAND??? I took it very offensive and felt disrespected . I almost felt she had something personally against me being a young mother and wanted to prove some kind of authority!!!! I was VERY kind to her the whole time and allowed her to have her authority high she was seeking for being a receptionist.....Again, my Doctor and nurses were amazing. I had a surgery here over two years ago and the surgery itself was great! However, I was overcharged by my anesthesiologist and my insurance ended up paying him the balance I already gave him. My insurance told me to get a refund from the doctor, and it has been a year now of me sending him letters and constantly calling the billing department. I have gotten nowhere. The billing staff has been really rude and unhelpful. They keep emailing the anesthesiologist but since he won't refund my overpayment, the billing staff says there is nothing they can do even though they employ him and apparently never speak to the guy! It's a great place, just a pain to get any reimbursement as so far I have had zero luck. read more

But here is what I hated: the BLARING insipid TV in the waiting room, plus people eating and drinking in there, shrieking into cell phones. I had to sit there for 30 minutes, very nervous, and wanted to flee. Felt like a bus station. No privacy at front desk while being "admitted." Zero privacy in the pre-op room, hated answering a barrage of personal questions whole lying right next to a man waiting for surgery. Would not use this facility again. read more

I had an simple eye procedure done there about a month ago and had no problems. Staff was nice and it was a good experience. Now I am set to have a more complicated procedure done in 5 days (which was scheduled at least 3 weeks ago). A woman named Lucy called to tell me that they are not going to bill me for the co-pay,, that it is all due in full on the day of surgery. She says it's a "new policy" for them, but if I can at least pay half than it will be ok. I let her know that the website says something different and that I think it's not enough notice to have to pay such a high amount in 5 days. She says I can talk to the administrator, and she'll have her call me- then Click- she hung up the phone. So very very rude to me. I'm going to let my doctor know that I'm very uncomfortable with this place now. read more

WARNING! I had surgery and this place was trying to pump me with every medication possible through the IV. It is obvious to me they want to milk insurance for money. Also this surgery center is careless and showed multiple ways that were negligent and put my life in danger during and after my stay. I have had 10 orthopedic surgeries and never had any problems post op. All I needed was the Anesthetic and that was it. Instead since my BP was a little high, this surgery center insisted on giving me an anti-anxiety medication to relax me, and I told them the day before, my DR did my BP and it was normal, that I always am a bit high when I first go into a hospital from being nervous, but I always drop down to normal within a few minutes. I told them look at my online medical records from Arcadia Methodist I go in at 160 and in minutes I am down to 120. They acted like they didn't believe me. Then they said they were going to give me some Anti-Nausea IV medicine in the recovery room. I told them I never have a nausea problem after surgery so I don't need it, but they gave it to me anyways though the IV. I had requested IV Toridol for Pain right after surgery because I don't have side effects with that medication and they gave me a different pain killer through the IV which could of been the cause of the serious side effects that hit me after surgery. Just an example of negligence. I told them I have a major problem with side effects to medications, I told them I have serious side effects with 90% of the medications for blood pressure, Pain, anti-anxiety and anti-depressant meds. A few hours after surgery I had some very very serious side effects! I had a rapid sustained heart rate of 120+, I had serious problems breathing and could only blow 400 on the asthma meter when I normally blow 650. I had horrible hick-ups and my foot I had surgery on was having seizures or severe shaking episodes when I would try to go to sleep. I later found out the medication for Nausea they gave me has a FDA warning currently. Geez! I later found out that one of the medications they gave me through the IV neutralizes the effect of Atenolol which I take to control my heart rate. They see my list of medications I take, they see I take Atenolol, They should of never given me that medication through the IV that www.Drugs.com warns of severe interaction with Atenolol. Yet another example of negligence. Also they discharged me when my heart rate was 20+ above normal, which they should of never done! Another example of negligence. Another thing that annoyed me was they insisted the IV go in my left arm. They claimed the anesthesiologist wants IV's in left arm. If my Orthopedic Dr was to do a Ulnar nerve relocation surgery, which I had before, they would have to do IV in right arm so don't tell me Left arm required for IV! I told them my Dr does not want IV on my left arm, I had 6 surgeries including nerve relocation in the left arm so the nerves are super sensitive and past needles in the lower left arm have caused severe pain, enough to pass out once. Besides I am left handed so do it in the right arm, doesnt everyone right handed prefer needles in the Left arm? Well I am a Lefty so I should get that same preference. Stop picking on us Lefties! They are supposed to make the patient as comfortable as possible. Why put me in pain for 3 hours? To top it all off, I called my DR's office after hours and the DR on call told me from the symptoms I was having I need to go to ER, that I could have Afib and a blood clot in my lungs from the Anesthetic used, which by the way is same medication that killed Michael Jackson! Geez, does this Surgery Center think they are on my Life Insurance policy? When the surgery center followed up a week later I told them everything that happened and they told me they have someone get in contract me to better find out why I had this reaction. great care, i felt very safe and comfortable for my procedure and they are really on it with covid protocols.

I had surgery there on January 3/2017.They took me in right away,My nurses were so sweet.Also my anesthesiologist was very nice caring,answered any weird questions I had,and made me feel safe. I think I was there a total time of three hours and went home. read more
