Throughout every stage, she grew academically, socially, and emotionally thanks to the incredible teachers and structured curriculum. Although she missed the first‑grade cutoff by 4 days, her new public school offered an assessment -- and because of the exceptional teaching and learning at AIP, she passed the assessment and was approved to move up to first grade. As a parent, I felt genuinely sad when it was time to leave AIP. I truly wish they had an elementary program because the teachers and curriculum are exceptional. We absolutely love all the teachers there -- every single one played a meaningful role in my daughter's growth. We always felt she was in a safe, caring, and inspiring environment. The good news is that our younger daughter will be turning 2 next year, and she'll be joining the AIP family too. Highly recommend!!!

While we initially considered several kindergarten options, we are so glad we decided to stay to maximize the benefits of a Montessori education. Beyond academic advancement, the teachers at AMS were nurturing and incredibly supportive of his emotional development. We feel that the school curriculum is well-balanced between academics and the playtime children need to thrive. They have a wonderful backyard with playgrounds, and our son loved playing outside every day the weather permitted. Though we initially worried about his transition to a public first grade, he adjusted quickly and smoothly. We have seen his creativity and love for learning truly bloom over the past year. I fully believe in the Montessori method, and the foundation he built at AMS is an invaluable asset for his future. We are truly thankful to all the wonderful teachers and staff at AMS!

Not only do they continue to help our daughter grow and give her the personalized attention she needs in class, on the playground, in daycare. But they have gone to the whole way to the mat for her to advocate for the essential services she will need to continue to learn and grow. Our daughter may well be stronger and even safer years after she graduates from AMS because of their limitless advocating for her. Separately, our daughter is now communicating at what an independent assessment has said is a level 1.5 years above her age group. And she's an increasingly confident and determined little person. Someplace else, she might be reciting more things by rote or I don't even know what skill someone might need a toddler to have. Instead, she can and will tackle anything. It just doesn't occur to her there's something she can't do. They are an enormous part of that. And just great partners in all aspects. I'm a better mom because I know them. Arcadia Montessori school is not just a school of magnificently talented, dedicated and kind people. They *love* their students. They advocate for and protect kids way beyond what one could reasonably expect from anyone other than immediate family. They just bring tears to my eyes - more than I'd like to admit! And just yesterday when I went to pick up our daughter who otherwise has deep separation anxiety said - mama, can you come back a little later?

The school communicates clearly about learning themes, meals, incidents, and events. In the summer, the staff put together a truly wonderful series of fun events such as splash day, a puppet show performance, and junior Olympics. As a Transitional Kindergarten & Kindergarten teacher, I can attest that CCP is preparing my child well for the years ahead. For years, I have both looked forward to and dreaded the idea of writing this review. I'm happy…read morebecause I finally get to write about our five amazing years here, but sad because I know it means the end of our time with Creative Child. I have sent both my kids here, and I love this school so much that I even chose to keep my daughter for her final year as an "Imagineer" instead of placing her in our free elementary school's TK program (of which I was not the only one!). Every positive thing that previous reviewers have mentioned is 100% accurate, so I won't repeat those. What I really want to talk about is the trust I felt the moment I first walked into this preschool and how that trust remained until our very last week here. It was during the reopening period of COVID, and we were already enrolled at another preschool that I didn't really like. I had also missed the rush to enroll my son, so all the other schools were full. I toured 5-6 schools throughout the SGV, but none of them ever felt quite right. That all changed when I toured CCP. The moment I met Ms Denise, it clicked. The school, the teachers, the classrooms, it all felt like a place where I needed to get my son enrolled. Of course, they were full too, but by sheer luck, an opening became available a few months later, and I jumped at the chance and I have been grateful ever since. I also have to mention that I am probably one of the pickiest parents you will ever meet when it comes to my kids. One of my biggest concerns, especially with my son, has always been eating, particularly because of his food allergies. He has always been a picky eater, and usually took forever to eat a small amount. But at Creative Child, that was not the case. I actually witnessed it first hand at a parent lunch event when I saw my son not only eat EVERYTHING on his plate, but finish before almost everyone else and then cleaned up after himself. Up until that moment, I honestly assumed the teachers just told us the kids ate everything to make us parents feel better, lol. The school's communication is also top tier. They ALWAYS keep you in the loop about what's happening at school and with your child. I knew my kids were being cared for, encouraged, and looked after, and I trusted the teachers completely. That peace of mind is hard to find these days. Not only have my kids made amazing friendships here, but so have we as parents! Because of this school, I have made incredible friends with other families, and to this day, our kids and families still hang out. You truly feel like family when you are part of this school. I trust every single teacher with my children and hold each one of them in the highest regard. I have always told other parents that preschool is invaluable to a child's development because of the skills and confidence they build at such an early age. I have seen the proof firsthand. I watched my shy little kids go from standing like statues on stage during their first Christmas recital to singing their hearts out and confidently performing choreographed dance moves by the time they graduate. Every child I have seen leave this school comes out as a confident kid, ready to take on public school. Creative Child has given our family so much more than just a preschool. It has given my children confidence, friendships, wonderful memories, and a strong foundation for the next chapter of their lives. Thank you, Ms Denise, Ms Sharon, Ms Susan, Mr Viet, Ms Annie, Ms Rosie, Ms Giselle, and Ms Jessica, for five incredible years. We will miss you more than you know!

We thought we knew what to expect from preschool, having already sent our older son through one…read morewhen we lived in a different city, but Creative Child Preschool in Temple City still managed to pleasantly surprise us. I hope this review helps other parents new to the area see what a gem this school has been for busy parents like ourselves. First is the schedule. Drop-off starts earlier than most other schools in the area, and pick-up is any time before 6pm. This translate to tangible flexibility for two working parents. We'd heard about, and experienced, other preschools with shorter hours that even take weeks off for spring and winter break like the public school calendar. Believe me when I say I'm eternally grateful we never had to manage those schedule gaps with Creative Child. Next is the physical space. The school itself feels like a home, each room beautifully decorated and cozy. The school yard is huge, with swings, slides, and a sandbox. Whenever we visit, my daughter is running and jumping through the yard with her friends like it's her own personal jungle gym. There are also add-ons we could opt into throughout the week. My daughter looked forward to Tuesday tap dancing every single week, along with Mandarin and My Gym classes. These are activities right on campus during school hours. Outside of school hours, we even got to invite her grandparents to her tap recital, and it turned into such a great family bonding moment. Creative Child doesn't feel like just a place to drop off your kid. I appreciate how intentional they are about pulling parents into the experience all year long. I did a mechanical bull ride with my daughter on Father's Day. We built gingerbread houses together during the holidays. The summer calendar get even better with magician, petting zoo, splash days, and more! The teachers are superstars here. The school is intimate enough that the teachers are familiar to all the kids, even if they're not the primary instructor for their class. So as my daughter moved up each year, she was never meeting anyone brand new, just a familiar face she hadn't had as her main teacher yet. Ms. Denise, Ms. Annie, Mr. Viet, Ms. Sharon, Ms. Susan, Ms. Jessica and Ms. Giselle all became familiar to her over the years, and I think that consistency built so much of her confidence. My daughter had trouble pronouncing her "s" sounds early on, enough that we got a professional consult just to be safe. Once she started in the Imagineer class with Ms. Denise, her speech noticeably improved week after week. I felt like she's already performing at a kindergarten level even though she's not even at that age yet. And the food deserves a mention. Ms. Rosie runs the kitchen, and she's a magician. My daughter won't touch oatmeal at home, but somehow cleans her bowl at school. We joke that we need to steal the recipes from Ms. Rosie someday, because the quality of meals in the public school system isn't even close in comparison. Lastly, getting to know the other families in our cohort made it clear we'd landed somewhere special. So many families here are rooted in the local community, and I learned so much just from talking to other parents, tips on neighborhood activities, what to expect once public school starts, from families with older siblings already there. Those are the invisible benefits nobody tells you when searching for a preschool. We definitely got more out of the school than what we paid for. Creative Child gave us the school part and the community part, and we're genuinely going to miss it when she finally graduates and enter the public school system. Creative Child Temple City simply exceeded our expectations in every way!

But both Ms. Beth and Principal Ms. Marie gently reassured me: "Don't worry, she will catch up soon." And they were absolutely right. At first, she was too shy to speak at school due to the language barrier. But now, she has made so many friends and proudly brings home her artwork to share with us. What surprised me most is how well she's taken care of herself--and even our whole family! She now chats with our neighbors in English like it's no big deal. It's hard to believe this is the same little girl who used to cling to me quietly at drop-off. Her physical strength and coordination have also improved dramatically. Before preschool, she would get tired just from walking and always wanted me to carry her. Now, she runs around joyfully and hikes without a single complaint--her energy is amazing! None of this would have been possible without the love, care, and gentle guidance of the amazing teachers at Arcadia Episcopal Preschool. My entire family feels so grateful to have found such a nurturing and supportive school community. This preschool gave our daughter the strongest and happiest foundation before stepping into TK--and for that, we are truly thankful. Special thanks to Ms. Beth, Ms. Marie, Ms. Kim, and Ms. Anjali--and to all the amazing teachers who have helped our daughter grow with love, patience, and encouragement. As a parent our greatest desire is to love, nurture and guide my child. At AEP the staff...or Angels, whom go above and beyond the call of duty. I/we have made no greater choice than having enrolled our child here. Each and every staff member is truly an extension of our family. The rapport one builds is a lifetime from the parent-staff, staff-child and child-child is incredible. From our parental experience there is no handbook thorough enough to mentor us. But from Ms. Marie (director), Ms. Kim (assistant director), Ms. Anjali (Turtle class), Ms. Beth (seahorse class), Ms. Vicky (bear class), Ms. Frannie (dolphin class), Ms. Kelly, Ms. Debbie (retired), Ms. Stacy (retired) and Ms. Ivette (food preparer) they bestowed upon us throughout the years their invaluable insight and knowledge. Truthfully as 1st time parents they not only guide our child, but instill in us lessons that aide our adventures of parenting. We genuinely adore them and thank God for having blessed us with their unwaivering love and devotion. If I may elaborate on why AEP is so glorious is through the eyes of a toddler whom confides in us how loved and thrilled he is with his teachers and staff. It feeds our soul on how these Angels so selflessly yearns to mold these energetic bundles of joy. My Son would tell us of the heart felt hugs, the giggles, the conversations he has that makes him smile. As he express how he loves them and never wants to leave this school. Curricular wise is age based and is undoubtedly logically implemented. From encouragement and guidance the teachers fortify their needs through play and training. We often are so excited to see what he has acquired. I have watched my son develop in so many aspects that has layed a foundation I feel which will only propel him for the future. And I cannot express the shear joy we have had seeing him progress from an infant to toddler. From day one AEP has instilled confidence in our little one and us as well. I would enroll myself if I could ;p. As mentioned my son's love of this exemplary school is so great he decided to stay another year. You will experience unbridled joy as we have when your little ones sees their teachers off campus and schoolmates. It has been unequivocally the best decision we have made. I humbly and deeply thank ever Angel of AEP as they have touched our hearts, souls and minds. We are proud to be apart of AEP now and forever.

Update in response to the business's comments to my earlier post :…read more - You did raise your voice to me. The quote I provided was word for word and is quite a less than empathetic statement to make to a client. You also snapped at my child during our meeting which surprised me and put the possibility in my mind that if this was done in front of me, it was most probably being done in my absence. Providing a calm and respectful environment is a great core value to strive for but these interactions did make me question otherwise. - I never said the school stated or diagnosed my child. What actually did occur, when I was being informed of his behaviors, was I thanked you for telling me. Because these behaviors were not manifesting in the home setting, I didn't realize he was also special needs like his sibling. The realization during that meeting that I had another child with special needs felt overwhelming and that is when I teared up. You then said that if he is special needs, he should go someplace else like the special needs center across the street. While this may be something you are ethically and legally required to do in such a situation, it was not expressed in the most compassionate way. - While we were notified of some of our child's behaviors, we were not notified of all behaviors until the in-person meeting I refer to above. At that point, it had culminated to the point of asking our son to leave. What I did not appreciate, and articulated this in person, was not being informed of ALL the behaviors occurring which would have given us insight to have him evaluated sooner. - The classroom behaviors were not always handled confidentially. I actually have screenshots you sent to me of other parents' conversations where they mentioned my child. That certainly made me question the integrity of your confidentiality since I'm sure the other parent thought theirs was a private conversation and not being screenshot and sent to another parent. - I'm not sure what additional support and extra staffing you refer to. Sounds great in theory, but I was not aware of any during my child's time in your facility. - Even now, you mention how certain matters were handled privately yet call out one of those in the same sentence. Ironic. - Of course you disagree on someone commenting on a lack of empathy or kindness on your part. No one likes hearing the reality of how they're portraying themselves. - Finally, yes, my review was posted more than a year after my child's enrollment. That just goes to show you how much of a long-lasting bad taste was left in my mouth after the experience. UPDATE #2 : " As we have already provided a detailed response, we would like to briefly address your most recent message. Because this matter involves a minor, we do not feel it is appropriate to continue discussing specific details publicly or to engage in ongoing back-and-forth on this platform." -- Then why are you continuing to do so? "If you wish to discuss any remaining concerns, you are welcome to contact us directly so the conversation can remain private and respectful" -- You are responding publicly. I don't have any concerns -- this is a site for reviews. This was my family's experience with your business and the review was written to supplement the low rating I gave. Trying to keep my review of my experience private defeats the purpose of this very site. Not every review is going to be a positive one and continually combatting or trying to keep negative reviews private doesn't come across well.
