We thought we knew what to expect from preschool, having already sent our older son through one when we lived in a different city, but Creative Child Preschool in Temple City still managed to pleasantly surprise us. I hope this review helps other parents new to the area see what a gem this school has been for busy parents like ourselves. First is the schedule. Drop-off starts earlier than most other schools in the area, and pick-up is any time before 6pm. This translate to tangible flexibility for two working parents. We'd heard about, and experienced, other preschools with shorter hours that even take weeks off for spring and winter break like the public school calendar. Believe me when I say I'm eternally grateful we never had to manage those schedule gaps with Creative Child. Next is the physical space. The school itself feels like a home, each room beautifully decorated and cozy. The school yard is huge, with swings, slides, and a sandbox. Whenever we visit, my daughter is running and jumping through the yard with her friends like it's her own personal jungle gym. There are also add-ons we could opt into throughout the week. My daughter looked forward to Tuesday tap dancing every single week, along with Mandarin and My Gym classes. These are activities right on campus during school hours. Outside of school hours, we even got to invite her grandparents to her tap recital, and it turned into such a great family bonding moment. Creative Child doesn't feel like just a place to drop off your kid. I appreciate how intentional they are about pulling parents into the experience all year long. I did a mechanical bull ride with my daughter on Father's Day. We built gingerbread houses together during the holidays. The summer calendar get even better with magician, petting zoo, splash days, and more! The teachers are superstars here. The school is intimate enough that the teachers are familiar to all the kids, even if they're not the primary instructor for their class. So as my daughter moved up each year, she was never meeting anyone brand new, just a familiar face she hadn't had as her main teacher yet. Ms. Denise, Ms. Annie, Mr. Viet, Ms. Sharon, Ms. Susan, Ms. Jessica and Ms. Giselle all became familiar to her over the years, and I think that consistency built so much of her confidence. My daughter had trouble pronouncing her "s" sounds early on, enough that we got a professional consult just to be safe. Once she started in the Imagineer class with Ms. Denise, her speech noticeably improved week after week. I felt like she's already performing at a kindergarten level even though she's not even at that age yet. And the food deserves a mention. Ms. Rosie runs the kitchen, and she's a magician. My daughter won't touch oatmeal at home, but somehow cleans her bowl at school. We joke that we need to steal the recipes from Ms. Rosie someday, because the quality of meals in the public school system isn't even close in comparison. Lastly, getting to know the other families in our cohort made it clear we'd landed somewhere special. So many families here are rooted in the local community, and I learned so much just from talking to other parents, tips on neighborhood activities, what to expect once public school starts, from families with older siblings already there. Those are the invisible benefits nobody tells you when searching for a preschool. We definitely got more out of the school than what we paid for. For years, I have both looked forward to and dreaded the idea of writing this review. I'm happy because I finally get to write about our five amazing years here, but sad because I know it means the end of our time with Creative Child. I have sent both my kids here, and I love this school so much that I even chose to keep my daughter for her final year as an "Imagineer" instead of placing her in our free elementary school's TK program (of which I was not the only one!). Every positive thing that previous reviewers have mentioned is 100% accurate, so I won't repeat those. What I really want to talk about is the trust I felt the moment I first walked into this preschool and how that trust remained until our very last week here. It was during the reopening period of COVID, and we were already enrolled at another preschool that I didn't really like. I had also missed the rush to enroll my son, so all the other schools were full. I toured 5-6 schools throughout the SGV, but none of them ever felt quite right. That all changed when I toured CCP. The moment I met Ms Denise, it clicked. The school, the teachers, the classrooms, it all felt like a place where I needed to get my son enrolled. Of course, they were full too, but by sheer luck, an opening became available a few months later, and I jumped at the chance and I have been grateful ever since. I also have to mention that I am probably one of the pickiest parents you will ever meet when it comes to my kids. One of my biggest concerns, especially with my son, has always been eating, particularly because of his food allergies. He has always been a picky eater, and usually took forever to eat a small amount. But at Creative Child, that was not the case. I actually witnessed it first hand at a parent lunch event when I saw my son not only eat EVERYTHING on his plate, but finish before almost everyone else and then cleaned up after himself. Up until that moment, I honestly assumed the teachers just told us the kids ate everything to make us parents feel better, lol. The school's communication is also top tier. They ALWAYS keep you in the loop about what's happening at school and with your child. I knew my kids were being cared for, encouraged, and looked after, and I trusted the teachers completely. That peace of mind is hard to find these days. Not only have my kids made amazing friendships here, but so have we as parents! Because of this school, I have made incredible friends with other families, and to this day, our kids and families still hang out. You truly feel like family when you are part of this school. I trust every single teacher with my children and hold each one of them in the highest regard. I have always told other parents that preschool is invaluable to a child's development because of the skills and confidence they build at such an early age. I have seen the proof firsthand. I watched my shy little kids go from standing like statues on stage during their first Christmas recital to singing their hearts out and confidently performing choreographed dance moves by the time they graduate. Every child I have seen leave this school comes out as a confident kid, ready to take on public school. Creative Child has given our family so much more than just a preschool. It has given my children confidence, friendships, wonderful memories, and a strong foundation for the next chapter of their lives. Our daughter started in Creative Child when she was 2 years old. They helped us with assuring that she successfully became potty trained, which was one of the first and major milestones for her while she was at the school. We are super grateful and feel so fortunate that our daughter was able to learn tremendously in so many ways and grow healthy at Creative Child. We miss all the teachers, staff and Director at Creative Child, so much. It was mixed emotions for us when our daughter finished her education and time at Creative Child - we were excited and thankful to see how much she had grown and was ready for the next stage but also very sad to have to say goodbye to all her teachers and staff and friends. At the beginning it was challenging, as it is for most parents, to drop off our daughter at preschool for the very first time. However, our worries and anxieties pretty quickly faded away and were replaced with peace of mind, gratitude, and excitement, as we got to know all the teachers at Creative Child, and observed how much our daughter was learning and growing. All the teachers, staff, and Director at Creative Child are very professional, patient, friendly, warm, and loving. We genuinely felt the warmth, care, and love that they had for our daughter and other children. Our daughter felt equally the same. As she grew and further developed her language ability, she would tell us how much she liked her teachers or what they taught her; she also often came home excited and shared her drawings or other art she created. At school, when we dropped her off, picked her up, or at school events, we saw how our daughter interacted with her teachers and sincerely appreciated the thoughtfulness, kindness, and caring attention they showed to our daughter. We regularly received communication and photos from the teachers so we can see the highlights of the day, the learning and fun all the children experienced. The whole school environment - the classrooms, backyard, and overall details and spaces throughout Creative Child, are all intentionally and carefully designed to be safe, conducive to learning, developmentally appropriate, and support the children's academic and socio-emotional growth. Our daughter has dietary restrictions, and we did not have to worry about them accommodating and supporting her dietary needs. They even provided dietary accommodation for us and our other older daughter during special school celebrations and events. The school regularly organized and hosted various special fun and meaningful events to celebrate holidays and showcase the learning of our children. For example, two of the special celebrations we enjoyed so much, included -1. Christmas concert where all the children prepared and worked together to sing traditional Holiday music, and 2. Arts Show Case where all children carefully guided by teachers, created a variety of art that they beautifully displayed throughout the backyard on a Saturday morning with delicious food and drinks, for parents and other family to enjoy and be proud and also for families to socialize with one another and the teachers. Overall, our daughter grew significantly at Creative Child, which became like another home for her, where she made friends, learned a new extensive vocabulary from all the academic instructions and guidance (e.g., many books they read to them, creative activities, imaginary and cooperative play, and overall peer social interactions). Additionally, our daughter gained self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-regulation skills. We feel we worked together with the Creative Child family to raise our daughter and they, like us, worked hard to make sure she was safe all the time, learned extensively, was happy, and grew healthy - physically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally. We cannot express fully how grateful and blessed we feel for being able to have our daughter grow up at Creative Child, to experience some of the most important formative years of her childhood in a richly stimulating and safe environment and with fully competent, compassionate, and dedicated early childhood educators. It's so much more than just drop-off and pick-up--it truly feels like family. Every single teacher is amazing. They create such fun memories for the children and families, and I've even made some wonderful parent friends along the way. I love that they offer Chinese class. It's so cute seeing my boys sing in Chinese. And to mention the healthy, fresh food is such a bonus. Ms. Rosie has been the chef for years and prepares the kids' meals daily, from breakfast to lunch. Somehow, the teachers even get my kids to eat vegetables at school! I also appreciate the consistency of the staff. There is very little turnover and many teachers have been there for years. Creative Child is a wonderful preschool that offers an enriching, safe, and empowering environment for its students. The entire staff is highly engaged, thoughtful, and very caring. Our child attended two years there and had the privilege of having Ms. Sharon, Mr. Viet, Ms. Annie, and Ms. Denise as teachers. All have done an amazing job in making our child's preschool experience an outstanding one. Classes are structured with a great balance of playing and learning whether it's in a group setting or individually. Without putting on academic pressure, children learn and grow through play, and by developing a great relationship with their teachers. A notable effort is made to offer a great variety of special events for the children and parents including holiday and themed events. The focus of the events are always creating a memorable and joyful experience for the children, whether it's through showing their artwork, celebrating a holiday, or simply enjoying a meal with their friends, parents, and teachers. The school does a tremendous job in taking care of the children's nutritional needs. Lunches are cooked from scratch daily. The menu also changes daily while maintaining a balance of main dish, vegetables, fruit, and milk. Children with special nutritional needs or allergies are accounted for and considered when there are special meals or treats. Parents always have the option to opt out. Communication between teachers and parents are managed very well. Through an app, parents receive daily updates and have direct access to the teachers. Creative Child and its entire staff have created an outstanding preschool experience for children and parents. Creative Child has been a sweet place for our little girl over the years. The teachers are very loving. Director Denise creates a fun atmosphere that creates community. I really loved how festive CC has been. So many events are planned throughout the year that create such special memories from a mother's day painting event or father's day rodeo. The staff is really thoughtful about dietary needs. My daughter has picked up some mandarin and learned tap dancing. The summer is a blast with so many activities. Writing this review with tears in my eyes thinking about my daughter entering her last month at Creative Child. I have had 2 kids pass through this school, and if I did one thing right in my kid's preschool careers, it was enrolling them in this school. I did extensive research into preschools and even enrolled my son into a different one Initially, but took him out after a few months and was lucky enough to get him into CCP and never looked back. Ms. Denise, Mr. Viet, Ms. Sharon, Ms. Susan, Ms. Annie, Ms Rosie (the school's chef!!) and all the other teachers have left the biggest stamp on my daughter's (and our family's) life. There has not been one day she has said she did not want to go to school, which I can only attribute to the fun atmosphere and wonderful, loving teachers. Holidays are special here, birthdays are special here, summer is fun (splash day! Science man! Magic man!), mothers and fathers are celebrated (Ms Denise knows how to throw a party!)- the entire school Is centered around love and happiness. Aside from the great every day curriculum, courses like gymnastics, mandarin, and tap class are also available for those interested (during school time which is great for busy parents who work and can't necessarily get the kids to afterschool activities). A phone app is used to update parents with pictures, nap checks, daily calendar of events, etc. You always know exactly what is going on with your child that day. On top of all this, the teachers are very conscious of health allergies, eczema, sun protection, and providing a well balanced meal. Creative Child was highly recommended to us to by one of our good friends who's children had previously attended the school. The moment my daughter step foot through the doors, she was immediately welcomed with warmth by the staff and even her classmates! She made so many friends and genuinely looked forward to going to school each day. The teachers were incredibly caring and attentive, always tuned in to each child's needs and personalities. Their dedication created a safe and joyful atmosphere where learning felt like play. The range of activities offered was impressive and enriching. Our daughter participated in tap dancing, learned fine motor skills, learned Mandarin, art and music, learned letters and sounds and even learned to write her name! During the summer, the activities are even more fun with pool days, bubbly foam parties, little petting zoo, and even a chance to make your own tie-dye t-shirt. I seldomly write yelp reviews but this is a must do! Between both my son and daughter have attended Creative Child for the past 7 years (2018 to 2025). We discovered Creative after switching from 2 previous preschools and visited at least 6 others. To put it mildly, Ms. Denise, Ms. Sharon, and Ms. Susan have been an extended family to us and an essential partner to foster our children's education and truly we couldn't be more thankful while embarking on this journey of raising our children. Creative child preschool is a safe place full of excitement and compassion. There are year round activities such as (bubble show, animal show, career day, art show, parents' week, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Career Day, Wacky Wednesday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Lunar New Year celebrations etc.). Our children also got the chance to learn and take classes such as (Tap Dance, Mandarin, and Children's Gym). My wife's favorite is certainly using the "Lillio" app so she can text with the school as needed and see kid's daily activities (eating records, learning topics, napping, and pictures etc). I've had both my kids attend this preschool because my siblings' children have attended this preschool since maybe 14, 15 years ago! This will be my youngest's last year and I'm honestly SO sad. The pivotal memories they helped my sons create were just wonderful to see! I've always felt welcomed with the staff and they are just so wonderfully caring. They sincerely go above and beyond for the children AND their families! They ALWAYS set up really beautiful events for the parents on the important dates/holidays and it's just blows me away every single time. This was the place that I've felt safe leaving my babies at while I work. They always upload pictures of all the milestones AND when they do fun activities for the day which I LOVE. They're super communicative, they helped potty train both my kids, my kids follow direction, they have safety protocols as far as entering and leaving the premises. We immediately felt at home when we first visited CCP Las Tunas. After touring many daycares and preschools, CCP truly stood out for its warm, homey atmosphere and Ms. Denise's genuine care and vibrant energy with the children. My family and I highly recommend this school. We were concerned about our son transitioning to a new school after having a bad experience at another school but Creative Child was fantastic. Ms. Denise and Ms. Annie were our son's teachers for the majority of the time but all the teachers knew our son's name and were great with him. Our son started last summer when he turned three. He was potty trained within the second week of attendance. The entire year was filled with so many fun activities, some of which also involved the parents. The teachers are all so amazing and our son loved EVERYONE. Our son has food allergies and we felt reassured with the safety protocols that they have in place. The staff is excellent at communication through the Lillio app. Multiple reminders are sent for every event/child needs and every question gets answered promptly. Honestly, the experience here helped us parents grow and also prepared us for TK. We have recommended this preschool to friends. My son just graduated from this awesome preschool this month. We started sending my son when he was 2yrs old, that was when we moved from LA country from OC. His teachers were Ms Sharon - Duckling class; Ms Susan - Kangaroo Class and Ms Denise for Imagineer Class. They were patient yet kind, they were an extension of our home for my child, knowing that every time when we drop him off, he is well taken cared for and stimulated. He loves arts and crafts, building legos, singing/dancing and also the activities they have are all well thought of -- Christmas, Easter, thanksgiving, Halloween, Valentines, etc. Also, my son loves their delicious lunch and snacks. They always inform the parents for each month's activities and also do community drive like for thanksgiving and Christmas -- to teach the kids the value of giving back. It is with a grateful heart that we say goodbye to this caring facility. For future parents, please do not hesitate to enroll your child/children here. We have had the great pleasure of sending our 3 kids through Creative Child. The teachers at all levels over the years are caring, thoughtful, and responsive to student needs. We were glad a good amount of activity involves creative play. The teachers also provide constructive feedback on developmental milestones regularly. The family oriented celebrations, art fairs, and holidays at the preschool are always very cute and fun where you can tell there was a lot of time and heart invested by the teachers. My son was just turning 2 when we started our search for a local daycare. We visited 3 daycares in the same price range. Creative child preschool was our last stop and we knew we found the one. What set creative apart from the rest for me, was the cleanliness of the classrooms, the app they use to send updates, and the feeling that the teachers cared about the children. Everyone has been so wonderful and has made this experience the best that we could ever hope for, son starting at such a young age. Another thing I want to add, the director and teachers have been so great and collaborative when it comes to therapies that our son receives while at daycare. They work with the providers and I feel all have a common goal to support and help him thrive. This has taken a lot of stress off of us as parents, knowing that he is in a safe environment, learning, having fun, and getting the help that he needs, while we can attend work worry free! My son attended this preschool last year, when he was 3 years old. I was very reluctant initially as his previous caregiver noted that he was not ready to be potty trained. This school's requirement was that 3 years old must be potty trained. This school did such an amazing job with my son's transition. Potty training was a breeze with the assistance from the school. Within a year, my son learned to recognize and write his alphabets, learned how to count and identify objects in Mandarin, and developed very well socially. I had visited a few schools, but Creative Child Preschool stood out the most. It was very apparent with first impression that all the teachers are very passionate in what they do. And that held true until the very last day of my son's attendance. I am so glad I enrolled my son in this school. I can not recommend any better academic setting for a child to develop and thrive, academically and socially. read more

For those who are considering sending their kids here...look no further. Extremely grateful to the staff for taking care both of our kids. The place may look small from the outside, but it has everything a kid would need. The staff is attentive and caring. Both our kids constantly talk about their teacher and the fun they have day-in and day-out. Mrs. Denise, Sharon, Susan, Annie and Mr Viet...thank you all for making it memorable for our kids. One last shout out...the school events where they serve food for the kids = terrific. Someone cooked spaghetti.....those ones they used to serve at the school cafeteria. Best preschool all around. Facility is extremely clean and organized. All the staff and teachers there are very very nice, caring and they all go above and beyond for all the students especially Ms Denise, Ms susan, Ms Annie, and Mr Viet. They all took really good care of my boys. I wish they did kindergarten as well because my sons were so sad when they graduated from there. No complaints what so ever. Our daughter was on the waitlist and was finally admitted when she was 2.75 yo. We chose the school over the others due to the fact that the same teachers have been there forever (low turnover), the cleanliness of the school, the hot food cooked on campus, the playground, and of course the minimum school holidays and long school hours allowing flexibility for working parents. During my daughter's first week, Ms. Denise kept us posted with pictures of our daughter a few times a day to calm our anxiety. We immediately know that we made the right choice, and our daughter is in good hands when she can't stop talking about the teachers after school. She asked to go to school during the weekend. She sings the songs that she learned from school. All signs of happy times she has had in the school. Ms. Sharon and Mr. Viet went above and beyond in helping us get rid of the thumb sucking habit our daughter had within the first month of school. The incredible director Ms. Denise has also done a fantastic job in planning and executing the fun activities for the kids without sacrificing the COVID precautious taken. My daughter came home everyday with very nice hair from Ms. Annie. Unfortunately, we have to withdraw my daughter due to moving 50 miles away. Trust me, it was the hardest thing for us thinking about leaving the school. Even then, Ms. Denise has been constantly checking in to see if my daughter is doing well. I really wish our daughter could stay in Creative Child Preschool longer than she could...We love and we miss Creative Child Preschool! read more

This review has been a long time coming. My two daughters attended Creative Child for the past 3 years. While my first daughter didn't need too much adjustment to school life, my second daughter was a shy and passive girl who desperately needed to come out her shell. I knew the teachers at Creative Child would be able to work their magic and they did. She had blossomed during her time there. The teachers are encouraging without being pushy. They provide a nurturing environment with gentle care that feels welcoming and warm. I always felt assured leaving my girls in their care. Additionally, they plan such fun school events that my kids look forward to and I appreciated having the option to add on extra activities like MyGym and tap dance. At the end of the day when I pick up my daughter, she is full of smiles. I couldn't ask for more. While our time there has come to an end, we will always remember the kind teachers at Creative Child fondly! read more

We are so excited that Creative Child Preschool is Reopened! The school had always been very clean and diligent about cleaning. Now, with Covid they took extra precaution. The children and staff have their temperature check before entering the facility and throughout the day and shoes are sanitized at the doorway. Children and staff wear masks. They installed automatic sinks. The best part is CLASSES are conducted OUTDOORS! Things are a little different because parents are not allowed to enter the facility, but we don't feel that we are missing out. Ms. Denise is great at communicating, sending updates, photos and videos of our child. Creative Child is AMAZING!! Both my children love it here . Thank so much creative child! read more

I tried to find a preschool that my son would like. There were a few and he was crying in the morning and didn't want to go at all until I found this place, Creative Child Preschool. It's amazing. He came home happy every evening. They have different activities every day and my son loves it. He even told me to send his little brother to this school too. This is a late post and I feel bad for docking a star when everyone else's are 5 stars but it's just my opinion. We were on the wait list for half a year before my son was able to get in and we were really excited. He was 2 and a half at the time. We loved that the playground was so big with plenty of shade which we like and a giant sand pit. The teachers were very nice and attentive, food was not bad and the place is pretty clean. The reason I docked a star is because every time I pick my son up from school I don't see that he's doing much and he seemed bored. It's the same activities most of the time like play doh, color, toys, puzzles, some arts and crafts. They do some story time, learn color, shapes, alphabets, numbers and all the basics. I did some research and pulled my son out and we decided to go to another school nearby. The new school is a bit more expensive and does not provide lunch but you can purchase their lunch program from an outside vendor. My son and I loved our new school. There was so many activities like using cotton ball and piping it with blue food coloring while learning about the water cycle. They learned about recycling, land and sea animals, the world map and where we live, big words like metamorphosis and gravity and learned what it means, each day a music teacher comes to teach them music, they learned about Mozart and different composers, they learned about different artists like monet and created their own paintings, they learn basic addition and even simple coding, they did worksheets together like find the next pattern, rhyming words, practice writing everyday. Yes at age 2.5-3 they were learning all that and so much more. But it is more expensive and If I was on a tight budget then creative child would've been my second choice. read more

Both of my children have been fortunate enough to attend Creative Child Preschool. As an educator myself, I can see the academic growth that my kids have had here, while in a loving and nurturing environment. My oldest son who is now in the second grade is substantially above grade level in language arts and math, in large part due to the strong foundational skills he received while there. I am currently driving 30 minutes out of my way (each way) to take my daughter here because we love this place so much. Today was my son's last day at creative child preschool. And for two years this school has helped my son grow in confidence, helped him find his voice, and helped him reach his potential for learning. I had originally learned about this school from yelp, and since then there has not been a day where I am not grateful that I did. From the delicious food that I am in awe of for such an establishment, truly I am very particular about my sons diet and my son is no picky eater so when I say that the food is amazing and nutrious it is, thank you immensely Ms. Rosie. To the teachers, I cannot express how much they care. In all things all the teachers at CCP are amazing. They really do bring out the best in each child and help them achieve all their educational goals while putting a strong emphasis on creativity and independence. Every one of my concerns was met with understanding and respect whenever I met up with any of his teachers. In particular I want to talk about my son's teacher Ms. Denise, she has always gone above and beyond to make sure my son felt safe, confident, and capable. My son went from not talking when he started here to reading three letter words and it is all in thanks to Ms. Denise. He also found a love for cooking and reading from Ms. Denise's school activities that included him making pizza, or candied apples, and reading circle. I also loved receiving videos and pictures of my son's creations and achievements while I was at work. She is there for the children and is so kind and positive I admire her attitude so much. She is always in such a good mood when I drop off my son up until I pick him up, her energy is infectious and the kids adore her. She also puts so much thought into the celebrations and activities that they have like the yearly Thanksgiving potluck and mothers and fathers day celebrations with the kids and their parents/ family members. I actually had a new mom ask me if all events were this detailed and amazing and I was so proud to answer that yes they are and that's what makes Creative Child such a wonderful place to grow and learn. Ms. Denise is the star of the imageneer class she really cares about each child and their educational goals but also who they are as little people and her curriculum very much emphasizes the importance of a creative approach to education. I am sad to go as my son will be starting kinder this fall but my other children will definitely be attending Creative Child, this place is amazing. read more

My son started Creative Child 1 1/2 month ago. On his first day it was not to our surprise that he threw a big tantrum in front of the school; kicking, screaming and refusing to go in. Ms. Susan was so kind. She took her time to console him, explain to him that we will be back; encouraged him to wave; and to say see you later daddy and mommy. Even though he was crying as we left we knew he was in good hands judging by the way Ms. Susan handled the drop off. We can tell that she was patient, caring, and know how to reassure his uncertainty. It was also comforting because Ms. Denise took her time and sent us updates, pictures, and videos of him throughout the day. The irony was that when we came to pick him up he told us to go back home because he was not ready to leave. By him saying that just solidified that we've made the right decision sending him to Creative Child Preschool. We have nothing but positive things to say about Creative Child. Especially, Ms .
