I unhesitatingly send my friends and family to Dr. Mudivarthi, my neurologist at San Rafael Kaiser! She genuinely cares for her patients: allowing plenty of time to discuss symptoms and next steps for treatment. She keeps up with research and uses advanced techniques, alongside her many years of experience. At the end of each visit, I leave knowing what my treatment plan is and have all questions answered. Dr. Mudivarthi is the on-call Hospital Neurologist on some days, and she actually goes in to see patients. I was very thankful to have her visit when I was in the hospital. She is leading a team of medical providers to address a very complicated medical condition of mine. I credit Dr. Mudivarthi for saving my life, and this was only possible because of the swift and skilled medical attention that she gave to me! Her consistent, long term and timely care, paired with exceptional sincere kindness and cutting edge medical treatment, makes her the clear and only choice for myself and any of my loved ones. Also the Neurology Clinic has: front and back office staff that are cheerful and welcoming, quick to call you to make an appointment and they are easy to reach. Dr. Mudivarthi is the best neurologist I have ever seen. She is knowledgeable and very compassionate.

I first met Dr. Mudivarthi in 2014 and for the first few visits she was kind, compassionate and understanding, even while going through a painful nerve conduction study and EMG. I saw her again in Aug 2015 following an auto accident. Just previous to my accident I had taken a round of antibiotics, one was a fluoroquinolone. At the time of the appt. I was on a 2nd round of the same drug. I was having disturbing symptoms of vertigo, additional visual symptoms, severe pain, swelling and speech difficulties. I wasn't sure how much was due to the accident versus side effects of the fluoroquinolone, Cipro, which I later learned is contraindicated for me. I was in a lot of distress, as it was difficult even getting to the appt., or functioning at all. I had just in prior days been re-diagnosed with bilateral Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) outside Kaiser and knew from past experience that TOS is a condition Kaiser has a history and reputation of resisting and denying. The appointment couldn't have been much worse. I was rushed and not given a thorough exam. She was dismissive of TOS and my symptoms altogether, quickly blaming everything on my cervical spine saying the accident made it worse. It turned out the accident didn't cause any dramatic changes to my spine, just mild whiplash, but it did cause other problems, as did the contraindicated antibiotic. Shortly after, I was diagnosed outside Kaiser with a concussion and likely TIA's (ministrokes) caused by circulation disturbances from TOS. She wanted nothing to do w. TOS and sent me off...because, after all, she had somewhere else she needed to be. As if the appt. wasn't bad enough, she went on to write absolute lies in my medical record. In keeping w. Kaiser's TOS reputation, she made notes to keep that outside diagnosis hidden stating there were no signs of TOS, when, in fact, she admitted to another patient shortly after she has no experience with TOS and is unable to diagnose it. She also wrote I'm not a candidate for spinal surgery due to 'pain and depression' but the real truth is I'm not a candidate for spinal surgery because, A.) it's not even called for at this time, as confirmed by 2 spine specialists both in and outside of Kaiser --- she used that as an excuse to avoid dealing w. TOS but needed to reign in potentially premature surgical attention to my spine. B.) she never even asked if I was 'depressed', we didn't discuss it at all, nor is she a qualified Psychiatrist. I was in obvious DISTRESS due to symptoms, yet she wrote, 'patient in no distress' OMG - the BS these Dr.s pull, it's absolutely shameful. Before the close of the appt., she proceeded to suggest a diagnosis of CRPS, regarding my more chronic arm pain, asking if I'd ever heard of it, saying,"You might have that." Blow me down, she had diagnosed CRPS in 2014 but completely forgot about it. She suggested I might want to go to the pain clinic ---- where I'd already been treated for the last year but she had not bothered reviewing my recent history. She also wrote I showed up w. 6+ pages of complaints, complete horse shit. What I showed her was a draft letter prepared on request for UC Davis Dept. of Vascular Surgery. The letter was 4 pages and included my medical history, medication list, photos of my swollen arm and hand, occupational and symptom history. Nothing like false, disparaging clinical notes written to conceal your institution's diagnostic biases and incompetence. After waiting nearly a month to see her, I left the appt. to sit in my car in tears, feeling completely invalidated and not even knowing where to turn to next. BEWARE! read more

Thinking that I was going to have a full hour comprehensive overview of my symptoms with the hope that this time I would get a doctor who could really help me, Dr. Mudivarthi actually shuffled me out of her office within about 15 minutes, just after telling me that all of my debilitating symptoms were as a result of being sexually abused. I was so SHOCKED I couldn't even talk!!!! I tried so hard to be respectful of her but I went numb while just tore in to me. I am currently writing a letter of complaint. Do not go to this woman. In my appt. she never smiled, and she never took the time to really get to know me. She didn't even allow me to fully explain my symptoms. She just cut me off and then dropped the bomb. This was the 3rd neurologist I had been to see at Kaiser. The previous two had other shocking and ridiculous answers to my symptoms. But Dr. Mudivarthi topped them all. read more

I've been to see Dr. Mudvarthi two times and I feel I was treated, and diagnosed extremely well. My surgery was based on her findings and everything seems to be fine. I''ll be seeing her again in six months and will repost then. read more
