Our daughter had her car towed there on Oct 9, 2025 for a torque replacement. Mind you, this wasn't a whole transmission replacement, this was for ONE PART originally and a 2nd minor part that they SAID she needed. She didn't hear a word from them for a week, so her husband called them and they said they'd ordered the part and it would be there the next day. Another week went by, so her husband called AGAIN and they said, it's ready for pick up, no explanation about the long wait. And why didn't they call to say that it was ready?? So they bring it around and it's COVERED in leaves and debris, so it obviously has been sitting out back under the trees for god knows how long. So she drives it home (about 6 blocks), and the very next day that she has it, as she's about a mile from home, the "Check Engine" light comes on! So, back to Gallo's. They don't act apologetic, surprised, embarrassed, nothing that this has happened. So THIS time, it's FOUR MORE WEEKS with NO call or communication. We're figuring the part was faulty and they had to send for a replacement and the supply chain was slow, or maybe they found something else wrong? So her husband calls them, they say, "Call back this afternoon." He calls back, they say, "We'll call you in an hour." Did they? NO. The next day he calls AGAIN, and they say, "The car's ready for pickup, you can get it tomorrow." NO apology or explanation. So they go to pick it up and the mechanic has an EXTREMELY hard time getting it to start, it's again covered in debris, and my daughter asks what happened, because THEY'RE not offering anything. "Oh, I'm not the one who worked on it (says the one that i BELIEVE is the OWNER), "another mechanic worked on it and THEN HE WENT ON VACATION AND DIDN'T MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT IT TO ME." WHAT?????? So it's been sitting there for WEEKS, so long that the brand-new battery wouldn't start up without help!! AND AGAIN, NO APOLOGIES, NO EMBARRASSMENT, NO ACCOUNTABILITY. NOT ONCE WAS THERE *ANY* INITIATIVE ON THEIR PART TO CONTACT OUR DAUGHTER OR SON-IN-LAW TO KEEP THEM UPDATED. MAYBE THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME, AND IT'S JUST THEIR MODUS OPERANDI? 42 DAYS!!!! Our daughter is still borrowing our car as a replacement for a couple of weeks while she drives hers, because she STILL doesn't trust it to not have the engine light come on again. After driving a couple blocks after having that battery changed, a light on the dash that I had never seen before came on. So, I pulled back in to politely ask if it was possible that the battery cables were not tight or something and to look under the hood myself, even though I had been nothing but calm and polite, he got extremely defensive and rude but said nothing about cancelling or upcoming appointment (which he knew I was staying in the area an extra day for) The indicator light went off when I restarted the car and never came back on and after some research online, I believe that he hadn't done anything wrong connecting the battery but that having the battery disconnected caused a sensor glitch. When I returned for that appointment two days later he refused to work on my car claiming that I had gotten angry with him which up until that point was absolutely not the case! He had my phone number yet never called to cancel; so, it seems like a deliberate petty, vindictive attempt to waste my time when all I had done was politely ask a question. This is the most childish and unprofessional behaviour I have ever experienced from a mechanic! I recommend avoiding this place at all cost!
