An older guy "helped" me in this shop. I explained I was completely new, didn't know anything and would be beginning/learning. I'm not sure if it was that fact, the fact that I'm female, or the combination of the two. But he basically tried to make me feel stupid for not knowing anything. But yeah, I just said I don't know anything, that's why I was there. He was very knowledgeable, he just acted like a dick though. I said I was interested in getting aluminum arrows since he recommended that. He walked off. I stood staring at bows for like 15 minutes. I assumed he had gone to get some arrows and was trying to answer someone else's question. Nope. He had completely blown me off and was refletching a guy's arrows. To be fair, he was kinda talking down to that guy as well, but at least he acknowledged his existence. I only gave it two (rather than one) stars because as I wandered back up to the desk to realize that he had in fact discarded me completely and was furthermore ignoring me, a seemingly friendly rep came stood at the counter and asked if I had been helped or needed anything. At that point though I was like... yeah, I'm not going to give this place any money. So I just muttered, "Yeah, I don't know. I guess not." And left. read more

I went into this store in Sherwood last week, Friday, Jan.27th, and explained I had just bought a crossbow and wanted to purchase a few arrows that were comparable to the arrows that came with it. I explained that I was new and knew pretty much nothing as far as what arrows were compatible with my new crossbow. The man at the counter, up front of the store as soon as you walk in, is the one who I dealt with. He didn't seem friendly at all and really kinda acted put out by me. Like he really didn't even want to help me at all. I was told they didn't have any arrows that were the same weight as what I already had but he showed me one that was the same length, but weighed 40 grains more than my arrows. I asked if they would be ok to shoot through my crossbow, and I never really got a straight answer. Seems it was more like, I dont see why not.... Long story short, I bought 3. After a few days of research online I started wishing I hadn't bought them because most people/archers online said it's best to just stick with what the manufacturer recommends. Me being new I decided thats probably what I should do until I learn more about what I'm doing. I still had my receipt so I decided to return them since they had not been shot at all, and I was going to use the money to purchase the arrows that the manufacturer recommends. I arrived at the store on 2/2/23 and had to deal with Mr Unfriendly again. I want to say his name is Roger I think, not positive but he asked if I had my receipt, which I showed him I did, and laid it on the counter. I explained I had changed my mind and wanted to stick with the same arrows that cam with my crossbow, and told him that I had never even shot the arrows I was returning. He took the arrows and flexed them, closely inspected them, as if I was lying. I thought all was going well until he said," I'm not sure if they take returns on arrows." I was like what!? I said if I had known that I would have never purchased them. And I wouldn't have I can promise you! So then he proceeds to show me on the receipt where it says returns do not include arrows, strings, and bows. No exceptions. So without even an "I'm sorry" or anything, he tosses my receipt down on top of the counter and says they won't be allowed to be returned. I said they haven't been shot and if I had known I( would not have bought them. He says nothing. I picked the arrows up and left before I allowed myself to get fully pissed. I feel like someone could have told me ahead of time that these weren't returnable before I bought them, or at least made an exception since he knew I was new to all this and the fact that he also knew these arrows had never been shot at all. To me this is not making sure the customer is happy. To me this is acting like he didn't really give a damn if I was a happy customer or not. I can say with complete certainty that I will not be shopping here again. This guy is a complete ass period! He acts like he hates his job. I can now understand why there were no customers at this store every time I have been by it. I feel like they should have made a one time exception to keep a happy customer but apparently they dont give a damn. I won't be returning ever!!! read more

I wish these guys were closer but they're worth the travel. Not a fan of travelling down the University Ave area. I needed a new string and cables installed on my Barnett crossbow and they took good care of me. They did a great job and in a decent amount of time. They got me set up just in time for my hunt next week in Southern Ohio. All the guys there were professional and very helpful and grateful for my business. They even gave me some helpful maintenance tips that I never knew regarding the care of my Crossbow. Though I was only there for maintenance, if you're looking for a new Compound, Recurve, or Crossbow, they have a ridiculous selection of all 3 types. They've also got the biggest selection of accessories, heads, bolts, arrows, etc. This place is simply packed with stuff. You'll need more than a single visit to see everything. The only downside is some of their prices seemed a bit uncompetitive compared to bigger stores like Academy Sports but If other sporting goods stores don't have what you're looking for, chances are they have it here.
