This place took us by surprise to say the least. My husband and I took our two children to try something new and we are glad we did. The prices were reasonable and the food was good. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with Hot Sauce on it and wow! That was delicious! My husband had the Ruben sandwich and said it was the best he can remember ever having. Both kids loved their kids meals as well. Our server, Chris, did a great job! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the different selections. Archer's is a great bar and grill in the Centerville area. One of the few places I frequent multiple times in the vicinity. Here are things I like about Archers: 1. Separate bar 2. Large seating area which doesn't feel too vacant / open. 3. Nice rotating tap selection with good standbys 4. Good burgers. 5. Good fries. 6. Good bar-tenders. 7. It is clean. 8. They have a patio. Things I would change: 1. Get rid of the shredded lettuce and give me a nice leaf or romaine. 2. Get a better bun for your burger or toast it. I've had some other food items here and haven't been excited about them so typically I stick with the burger. I've had people say the 'za is good, but mama had it and we weren't wowed. Sister had the bacon-wrapped hot dog & died and went to heaven, so if you prefer a dog to your cow, go for it. Archer's recently opened a location in Kettering and I can't speak to that one, but generally the Centerville location is busy (I figure this is due to the lack of options in the area and the fact that they have good beer, burgers, and fries.). Service has always been good, another plus! Definitely a decent spot, hence, I keep returning. You should too. Get a burger. :) read more

This is a go-to date night place for my wife and I. Always love the food (especially the sexy-style wings!) and the whole vibe. Our server Alex D on Friday 2/10/23 was a standout, I saw him taking responsibility for the room and checking in with all the tables, being a team player with the other servers. He was friendly, attentive, and conscious of what we needed before we knew we needed it. Won't be surprised to see him managing the team on a future visit. read more

We brought a party of 8 to Archers between games of a soccer tournament. We told them we didn't have a lot of time and asked for everything in a go box. They got every order correct and had it ready for us very quickly. Service was great! The waffles are amazing too! read more

Stopped in and sat at the bar for a few drinks and a bite to eat. The atmosphere was very warm and there were several TVs behind the bar for viewing. The bar staff was friendly and attentive. There was a large selection of craft beers on tap with enough variety to please any type of beer drinker. The wines by the glass were a little limited, but they had nice ones as their choices and the prices were good. The menu was on news print and set up like a paper, a whimsical choice. We only tried a couple of things, but both were good. The menu listed the wings as "world's second best" which spawned the question where are the best? They said it was a recipe copied from a place in Buffalo, NY, which were the original best. We tried them 'sexy style' which wasn't on the menu, but suggested by the bar staff. It was a blend of a few of their dry rubs and then tossed in garlic parm. They were delicious! They had a nice spicy kick and great flavor. The spinach salad was also good, very fresh, but just your typical spinach salad. Many of the other menu items looked good as well. I wish we'd gone hungry to try more! Really cool, old brick building in historic Centerville! I've been twice, and both times the staff were incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic. Unfortunately, both times we had to wait quite a while for our food, even though we went during the off hours between lunch and dinner when it's not busy. I've had the reuben, which was very tasty but a little scant on meat, and the 2nd best wings with Archer sauce, which... were okay. Probably the 5th best I've had in Dayton alone (I can name 3 phenomenal wings in the area off the top of my head). My husband has ordered burgers both times, and they were delicious. Great sweet potato fries too. So 4 stars for the atmosphere, staff and burgers, docked a star for slow, slow service and underwhelming other options. read more

I want to like this place...I really do. It's close to where I live and wish I could make it the goto spot. However, I've been disappointed the 3 times I've come. The dining area is LOUD. With all the great reviews and the ALWAYS packed parking lot, I really had high expectations for this establishment. But I left disappointed last night after doing the soup & salad thing. I ordered the French Onion Soup and the Wedge salad, along with an Oktoberfest brew. First they didn't have the beer, then they had it, then they didn't have it...so I switched over to their imported Riegele Privat on draught, which was OK. My waitress did a good job, and even was nice to bring me two tasters of another Oktoberfest (Sierra Nevada), and "Pumking" (Sourthern Tier). Do you know the best way to enjoy pumpkin flavored beer? Throw it out and drink regular beer. HA! But really, pumpkin flavored beer? No offense to Archers or my waitress, but who really drinks that stuff? But I digress. The French Onion soup was bush league. It was more like a high school home economics class project...the broth was weak, and someone cut two slices of Swiss cheese and put them on the top of this weak soup and warmed it for about a minute. Bleh. I ate about 1/3 of it before my waitress came by to check on me. I did not hesitate to tell her about the soup, and she immediately offered me another soup choice. I took her up on the offer and decided on the Chili. I should have picked the chicken noodle, as the chili had a certain 'twang' to it. Apparently Archers competes in an annual chili cook-off here locally, and use a beer in the recipe (cream ale?), but it tasted, well....sour. Folks here in the east outta' come out to the west for real Chili cook-offs...and this mico-minced-meat chili they have out here is not on my top 10. And the salad...which I guess was OK, but the plate itself was colder than the wedge of lettuce...which was about 1/8th of a small head. Like I said, it was OK, but I've had much colder and crisper lettuce wedges before. Dressing was OK. So maybe it was just the choice of food that I ordered, but for the life of me, there wasn't anything outstanding last night that would allow me to rank these folks with three stars (A-OK). It truly was "Meh...I've experienced better." A lot better. I'll be here in Dayton on a project through December, so maybe I'll come back. Not sure. read more

This used to be a steady and dependable place to get standard American fare. I'm not sure what has happened but it broke what they used to have. I went there for lunch today and ordered a chicken wrap with fries. The wrap had two bite sized pieces of chicken (trust me, this is not an exaggeration) and the fries were soggy, cold and served in a lump. I will not make the mistake of eating at this place again. I've only been here twice. The most startling and memorable fact about Archer's for me- no Happy Hour... at least that is what our waitress said. Give me a happy hour and I'm gonna drink a lot more. Review update: The items below have been addressed. It's nice to have a business that listens to its customers. Well done Archers. As a craft beer lover I have been a long time fan of Archers. While I still like the place, I don't like some of the recent changes to the bar. They no longer have the brewery tap handles. They replaced them with small silver handles that all look the same. How am I supposed to tell what is on tap when I walk in? The old tap handles added some charm and uniqueness, now it looks too sterile. They also changed the printed beer menus. The new menus don't have a description for each of the beers, so if you are not familiar with the beer listed there is no way to know what type of beer it is. These two changes will surely turn off the craft beer fans that have made Archers their home for the past ten years. read more

Food is average. Service is good. Prices are a little high. Odd as it sounds we try to avoid this business due to the floors being very slick. I do not know if they have a grease layer on them or not, but you should watch your footing inside this restaurant. read more

Ordered Bacon Bleu Cheese burger, no bun, medium rare, on extra lettuce. It came out WELL done (ie dry), on 1 piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato and a couple of pickles. Service was OK. Overall, not worth the cost, I will not be going back! read more

I have been a regular here for years and I have given up. It was a friendly place with fair prices, decent food and friendly staff. No more. the food is not good...really not good. In the last two visits a medium burger showed up raw, not rare but raw. No apology, no attempt to make it right. The last visit I ordered a pizza that was delivered blackened. Who delivers a burned pizza!? Everybody has staff problems now but the former, friendly staff have been replaced with a group that would rather be somewhere else. Food is very good. White chicken chili is awesome. It gets a little noisy when their crowded, but it's still a nice place to go to.

The environment was so comforting; great music and not terribly loud, (though we didn't get in until 9:00.) We were visiting all the way from Delaware, so we made the decision to eat at Archer's solely because of the French onion soup. All of the food tasted phenomenal. Service wasn't the best of the best, but wasn't horrible at all. Only thing I took a star away for, was because we ordered multiple appetizers along with our soups and it was brought out with the rest of our main courses, pretty much defeating the purpose of an appetizer. This review isn't typically something I would do but I hope it gets the attention of management and bar staff. We come here atleast once a month. Solely because we love their sexy/archers style wings. It's steep but worth the almost $20. Tonight our service was amazing besides the bar staff. It's a mildly busy Tuesday night and there's two bar staff. Two bartenders can handle it just fine.I order dessert and some kind of chocolate martini. Told the server I'm not picky just something with chocolate and baileys or some liquor. Bartender says no chocolate martini. Our server is not over 21 so I know he's no help in this department. Then I order a White Russian with caramel vodka. No caramel vodka. Clearly at that point I just want a sweet after dinner desert cocktail. I'd take any suggestion. As someone with bar experience, any bartender can pull that out of your hat. You missed out on a extra $10-12 on the tab and lessened your coworkers tip (we still tipped over 20%, I just mean by the total not being as much) by pure laziness. Used to love this place... lately it's a big fail... the service was awful! we got seated and waited 20 minutes before even being acknowledged by an staff. Then when I asked if they had a drink, I was talked to like I was an idiot. I had no idea what beers they had since we were not given anything showing what they had. We didn't get our appetizer. The waitress realized we didn't get our appetizer when she stopped and saw we had our wings. She said she could go "check on our fries and box them up for us". My husband took me here for date night. It was crowded & we were told it would be a 15 min wait but we were seated within 5 mins. Our server, Kristin, greeted us with a smile & took our drink order. We looked over the menu & were pleasantly surprised at the selection & reasonable prices. I ordered the Mahi Mahi which was served on a bed of rice with a side of Spring vegetables. My hubby ordered a half rack of ribs which came with fries & coleslaw. He asked for tater tots instead of the fries & mac n cheese instead of the coleslaw. This resulted in a $5 upcharge which we were unaware of until we received the bill. He was very happy with his meal so we didn't make a fuss about it. I liked what I ordered but felt the Mahi Mahi could have been fresher & better seasoned. When my plate was first placed in front of me, I noticed a strong fishy smell & that shouldn't be with fresh fish. That being said, we both enjoyed our meals & felt they were worth the price. We ordered the Snickers cheesecake for dessert which is only about $5 & it was incredible. Archer's is a nice, casual tavern with a good selection of pub food, pizza, and local craft beers. We live near here so come here often. Service is always fantastic and we always leave satisfied. Try one of the burgers and you wont be disappointed. The Brandon Burger with a fried egg is one of our favorites as are the Sticky Burger. If burgers aren't your thing, Archer's has a decent selection of sandwiches that are sure to please. The Soggy Bottom sandwich is delicious with pot roast on a hoagie with mushrooms, onions, and provolone. Wash it all down with one of the many craft beer regulars or one of the seasonal rotations. Arrive early to avoid waiting for a table, especially on the weekends when the crowd can get quite large. read more

I've been to Archers a few times and each time has been pretty good. Nothing sticks out for a 4 or 5 star review. Service has been slow to good. Food is expensive and nothing great. Their pizzas are good but small for what you pay for, and their wings while good, aren't great. I've seen them put on a few best of Dayton lists and can't agree. I've tried their signature archers style which reminded me somewhat of BonChon wings just nowhere near as good. Overall it's more of a 3.5 read more
