    The stage (during breakdown)

This is a great space for artistic events. I've been here for concerts and readings and plays and musicals. I've heard that it's also used for new-agey dancing and a farmer's market. It's a multi-use venue. Every community should have one or several of these. There's a small cafe with a deli-like menu of sandwiches and soups. It also serves beer and wine, which is nice for evening. This same space is often used for small events, everything from spoken word poetry to 15th-century dramatic improv. Yeah, really. (I have no idea how you find this on a calendar.) There's also a much larger room for bigger events (concerts, plays, operas, blues bacchae) with adjustable seating with optional tables. This room also has a bar with a good selection of craft beers. (They serve wine but I don't know anything about it.) Plenty of bathrooms. A single-use gender-neutral room in the cafe, and two gendered multi-stall rooms at the rear of the large room. Every time I've been there, I've parked directly out front. It's so easy that it doesn't feel like Somerville at all. There's also a dedicated parking lot behind the building, so no matter what, you can park. It's a hike from the T -- 18 minutes by hoof? And just down the street, the Highland Kitchen for the after-par-tay.

My friends visited me from Norway today and one of them was a fan of Steven Kellogg so we got tickets to see him at The Armory. I never seen this place before.. when we got there, I wasn't sure if I had gotten the right place. It looked like The Alamo building in San Antonio, Texas and not a music venue hall. We went inside and to the left is a little dining area with a surprisingly clean bathroom. I was actually impressed with how clean it was even though there were a ton of people there. When we were allowed to enter the stage, it was pretty spacious and I was pleasantly surprised. My first impression was.. it kind of looked like the inside of a barn but without all of the usual barnyard equipment, hay and cows. The seats were SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE! Sitting in them for 3+ hours destroyed my bottom... but because I was a man and not a variety of flower.. I suffered in silence. There were many options for patrons who are seeing a concert. The chairs weren't reserved (at least every row except the first two weren't) and it was first come first serve. There was also a balcony area where you could view the performers from that had a few tables and chairs in place. It was air conditioned which was awesome since it was such a hot day and the venue was sold out and there were ceiling fans that circulated the air and it made the ambiance of the place pretty nice. I WAS going to give it four stars because of the seats but I loved the band and their opening act (Chris Kovac), and therefor I elected to be a bit more generous. Oh and the parking situation was also good, I parked right in front of the building.. ROCK ON!

This was already a great space run by great people and now the city finally came to its senses and gave them sensible operating hours.

It's a space with simple elegance and a rustic charm. This is a real boat club with members who join because they love sailing. The annual Head of the Charles and other regattas are big deals here. But it's good news that the space can be rented out for weddings and other events because it's really pretty cool. The bride and groom of the wedding we attended are both avid sailors and so this place has special meaning to them. I love that there is both indoor and outdoor space here so if you luck out and have good weather, your guests can go out to the expansive deck or down to the water's edge. We had a sunny, perfect late afternoon and so guests wandered freely in and out. You can hire whatever caterer and bar service that you would like which I think is a terrific option when hosting any kind of party. It's a great way to control the quality of the food and not be locked into anything you're not 100% sure of. I'm also told you can't charge for alcohol at this site and must have an open bar; to that I say: "Amen". I am not a believer in hosting guests at a wedding where there is a cash bar. You wouldn't charge people for drinks if you invited them to your home so it's never made sense to me to do it a wedding. So for events held here, it's not a debate: it's an open bar although of course you choose what to serve. There was plenty of room for both dining and dancing in two separate but totally adjacent inside areas. One side was the dining area and the other was for the cocktail hour and mingling, later for the live band and dancing. Although the Boat Club can be a bit tricky to find event though it's a Cambridge address, it is well worth considering if you're planning a wedding especially if you want a place that is unique.

A few things to note if you are considering this for your wedding- it is a working boat house, so there will be other people on the grounds and the docks during your event. We were made aware of this ahead of time and okay with this, but were not prepared for the lack of parking due to the rowers being on site. Other than that, the staff was wonderful to work with and Kate was great on the communication front. Highly recommend for any event!

I was very unsure which area to stay in, but I'm so happy I chose CCB because the location is absolutely perfect. Back Bay is very nice and safe. You even have a wonderful park just outside the doorstep to walk around, and the lovely Boston Commons only two blocks away. Check-in/out was one of the most seamless experiences I've had with hotels/airbnbs. I didn't have to check in with anyone, and I received the door code a few days before. They have a lovely dining room for guests with homemade cookies, fruit, coffee and tea. Unfortunately I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but I'm sure it's great too. CCB is really the perfect mix of a hotel and bed/breakfast. I was unsure about doing the solo room with a shared bathroom, but other than having to wait for the other guest to finish his shower so I could take an urgent bio break, it was no issue at all and I would hands down do it again. I'm pretty sure the other floors have a bathroom if you absolutely need it though. For the location, price, comfort, and amenities, College Club of Boston is a no brainer. I got the please to quickly meet the GM on my way out, and she is super sweet. I even left my airpods in the room, and without hesitation they are shipping them back to me. 5 starts forsure.

It is super well-priced at $15/person for 1.5 hours of gameplay which is more than enough for 2 people. They have a bunch of interactive dart games, including classic, and we were able to play all of them multiple times. Additionally, they have Rookie/Normal/Pro lines on the ground so you can choose where to stand and you don't have to be a professional dart player by any means to play these games. The staff is also super friendly. The only concern I had was that the staff wasn't super attentive to our dart table, so despite us clicking the request service button a few times, my girlfriend had to head to the bar to get our drinks and start a tab. My girlfriend's drink was not good either... it was a vodka mixed drink with a salt rim and it was just too salty. It would've been much better with a sugar rim I think. Other than that though, it was an amazing time and I'd highly recommend Flight Club for a date night, outing with friends, or corporate event!

I'd definitely recommend it for a fun and unique group experience.
