Let's start with the cons. super small tight corner for a gas station. During traffic pick times, oh it get super tight and infested with angry people. I have even had cranky grandma's honk at me! Only debit cards are accepted with a 35 cent charge to facilitate the transaction. No restrooms not much room to move around before you are sticking out of a very busy intersection. Pros. I have witness kind gestures by strangers paying for kids that forgot their money. All the kids wanted was candy and soda pop and when they realized they spaced the wallet. Some random dude volunteered to pay for the kids. Super cool to see nice people still excites. This took place last year during the madness of the covid-19 locked down. When our world was upside down. What struck me was the dude that volunteered to pay for the kids looked borderline homeless. ULTRA CHEAP GAS! In OC this is the best deal in the county. I double dare you to top this location. No membership needed. I prefer or suggest pump gas crack early in the morning. My encounters with staff/cashiers dudes, have been just a transaction. I am not at a gas station for a smile. I just want my Slurpee + gas and go! So if you are a angry person and is easy to flip-out this gas-station is not for you. Now if you are patient and understand you are just there to get gas and not make new bestfriends. You will be just fine getting your cheap gas. So Debit card or hard cash works best and no credit cards accepted. Just in case you are in HB going to the beach I say stop at my neck of the woods for cheap dirt gas. I've been pumping my gas on and off here for a couple years the pumps never work, and the attendants are not really willing to help. I have had one attendant out of probably 15 times willing to help. I'm not the only one that is experiencing this issue even though they told me I am because I'm looking around at everyone pumping and they are all having the same problem. I paid for the gas and apparently the pump I was using wasnt working, so I decided to ask if I can change it to another one that works like I usually do. The guy who worked there misunderstood me and just cancelled so I had to repeat it to him so he moved it to the next pump, but that one didnt work either. I had to come back in and then he was telling me to insert my card in again but I couldnt hear him at first because he was mumbling half the time. Then he just started yelling at me and asked if I know english. Like how rude do you have to be to yell that to a customer? I wasnt being rude to him at all I just needed to get some gas and go. I have been going to this gas station on Heil/Goldenwest for over 20 years never had a problem. Today there is a lady at the register I give her my money and say 47.00 on number 6, I then had to repeat this 3 x, I watch her count my money 2- 20.00, 1- 5.00, 2- 1.00. She looked like she didn't know how to count should have been my first clue again before I walk out I say 47.00 on number 6 she shakes her head yes. I pump my gas it stops at 27.00 I go back in and tell her I gave you 47.00, she argues I did not. We agrue back and forth until she finally gives me my 20.00 back! Caution! This place steals your money. I put in 30 bucks for gas and the pump wouldn't work. I asked the attendant what the issue was and she said that I had to "pay again." *****BEWARE***** I normally don't go to Arco. I happen to get a gift card for Arco gas for Christmas. When I went to use it at the Arco on Heil & Goldenwest in Huntington Beach I was shocked when the pump wouldn't pump my gas. I swiped the card at the pump and nothing happened so I walked into the building with my pay. The cashier swiped the card in the system and handing it back with a receipt showing $50 dollars used. I walked back to my truck and proceeded to try to pump my gas. Again, the pump didn't work. I walked in and informed the cashier that the pump didn't pump anything. She then went to tell me I had no money on my card. She argued that there was no money on a brand new gift card with a gift card receipt showing the funds available. After going back and fourth arguing I had call the police to come out and take a statement. After the police showed up the lady then informed me that the money will be refunded back to the card in a few hours. At first there was no money then the money would be refunded back?! After leaving without knowing if my money would actually be refunded and the police not being able to assist I check the balance and found that the cashier had refunded it back. There's a couple of really nice guys that work at Arco. They are so friendly and polite and seem to recognize me when I stop by. They always let me pump my bicycle tires with air for free. I noticed that Arco has better prices then most gas stations, so I buy my gas there as well. I am grateful for my neighborhood Arco station. I have two gas stations near me and I always choose Arco. On my last visit I forgot my quarters for the air pump again but then I saw their new phone scanner for payment system! So I fill up my car and my bike at Arco! There is a $.35 fee if you use your debit card for purchases so you should bring cash when you come to fill up. ((BUT NOT FOR THE AIR!)) read more

He told me it would be 7$ and some change swipe my card oh well actually I put 60~ instead of 6 so now you have no money in your account. I've been going to this location for years each time very late at night or very early morning. Frequently the employee is taking out the trash when I arrive. He ignores me the entire time that he's taking out the trash. He does not offer to accept my money and turn on the pump but instead takes his sweet time taking out the trash. When he's taking out the trash when I arrive I just leave and get gas at another location because it takes him so long to complete the job. Last night when he was at the entrance door I tried to hand him my cash to get gas and he refused to accept my money and said that once he locks the door he does not open the door until he's done taking out all the trash. Really not happy with this location at all especially with Maria the afternoon employee she has been locking the door in the afternoon to all the school children that want to go in and buy something she will let the adult customers in and push the children out I'm pretty sure that can be considered assault on a minor I've tried calling and complaining about it but it's still happening hopefully things change soon . read more

I was given an Arco gift card for Christmas, for $50. I went to this Arco gas station on Goldenwest and Heil in Huntington Beach. I went inside with my gift card and and handed the employee my gift card and got $15 worth of gas. I then went outside and proceeded to pump my gas and the pump was not working. I went back inside told the employee the pump was not working, he came outside and looked at the pump and said it was broken. I asked him do you need my gift card back to credit my card, he told me no it will automatically credit your card back your $15. Well, it didn't! I have been haggling back-and-forth with Arco corporate for going on a week now. I cannot believe that they are giving me such a hard time over $15. I went to a different Arco gas station and ask the employee if you could check my gift card to see if that gas station credited me back my $15, and he told me no they did not. Corporate has also admitted that the gas station did not credit me back by $15. It's pathetic to know this billion dollar business is dirty in the customer service department. Terrible service and rude! Guys are jerks and more than happy to blame you the customer for the pumps not working properly without a second glance and treat you like you are the idiot. Can't even be bothered to regard your comment or question. They act like you are bothering them always (even to just pay for your items or for gas), then on top of it if you bother to be nice and try to nicely ask for help or rather for them to do their jobs they jump on you right away like you are being difficult and causing a problem. This isn't one experience I have had with this specific Arco, it is multiple bad experiences. The lower price of gas isn't worth the aggravation of dealing with them. If you must use an Arco, do yourself a favor and go to a different one. There is another one literally down the street. You will be thankful! I stopped to get gas here and was a horrible experience. I will never go back to this place again. I put $20 in the terminal and pressed for pump #7, however it did not work. I went inside and told the clerk that I had put money in at the terminal for pump #7 and that it wasn't working. He looked at me and said, "no....you put the money on pump#1." I said, "no, I put the money on pump #7 and that's where my car is." He stood there looking at me and then laughing and telling me, "no, you put your money on #1." I said to him, "well my car is at #7 and i need the gas that I paid for." He stood there laughing at me. I finally said, "you know what, just give me my money back and I will go elsewhere." He then finally says, What....you don't want me to switch and put the money on #7 in stead of #1 where you put it wrong." At this point I was quite frustrated and told him, "no, I want my money back and will go elsewhere. I'm not here to play games." Still laughing he opened the register and says, "here is your fucken money, I don't need customers like you, " as he is still laughing even after cursing at me. I could not believe the treatment that I was receiving. I told him, "well good because I don't need to give my money to an arrogant person that does not even know how to run a business. Needless to say that I will never be back there again. I have contacted corporate to let them know how the station is being run and they have me waiting for them to contact the owner (who was probably the person that was so rude to me) who will then call me. BEWARE!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! I went to pump gas at this Arco on Goldenwest and Heil in Huntington Beach using their automated pump. This was in the morning prior to work. After using my debit card for the automatic pump transaction I went to the pump to pump gas. It did not engage. I tried it a couple of times, but the lever just clicked down and did not engage. I replaced the gas pump and moved to another pump. I redid the debit card for another pump and pumped gas totaling $52.78. When I reviewed my bank statement I had TWO transactions. I was charged $100 AND $52.78!! My fuel tank only holds 20 gallons making it impossible for me to pump $152 worth of gas. After repeated attempts to speak with the owner and much run around on their part, the manager told me to go ahead and dispute the transaction, that there was nothing he could do about it. He followed up with a voicemail message saying he had looked at the video, but that this one pump was out of range of vision, so he didn't know who else to charge for the gas! I replaced the pump in the first location and if it is in correct working order that should end the transaction-no charge because NO GAS WAS PUMPED! Secondly, $100 is a lot of money for most cars and if someone is going to steal gas, I doubt they would carefully pump it to exactly $100. It just doesn't make sense. In addition, my neighbor who frequents this ARCO told me that the gas part of the station was closed down the following Saturday due to problems with the pumps. The manager also confirmed this because I told him it was probably a glitch with the machine; I knew he had had to shut down for the day with problems. He replied that that had occurred on Saturday, not the day I had come in. If I had a problem on Wednesday, 11/20/2013 and they had a major problem on that following Saturday, I would assume they were having glitches with the system. I did not receive ANYTHING for this $100. I replaced the pump which should have ended the transaction. I will NEVER go there again and will tell ANYONE who will listen to stay away!! read more
