I've seen Dr. Keith Schreffler (chiropractor) for the duration of my pregnancy to proactively balance and mitigate so many of the traditional aches, pains, and body changes. His work with me has evolved with every week and every new concern/area of focus. He has a very personalized approach to meet the needs of my body. There are traditional chiropractic movements, but also body work, massage, and Webster Technique additions. Dr. Schreffler is kind, empathetic, knowledgeable (and shares this knowledge) proactively and makes me feel very comfortable (and my body feel better after every session). I've seen a few chiropractors and Dr. Schreffler is the best for me! Would highly recommend if you are looking for a thoughtful approach. read more

Larissa is an AMAZING massage therapist. Her understanding of the body and the various trigger points is phenomenal. As an individual with chronic migraine, it's been tough to find anyone that even cares to have a basic understanding of the disease's impact on the body as a whole. Larissa clearly has done her research and does everything in her power to help reduce my symptoms related to tension. I'm beyond thankful for her help and would recommend her to anyone looking for a more clinical approach to massage therapy. read more

It's been almost a year since I saw Matt Fontaine at this location, and I really struggled with whether I should even leave this review. Ultimately, I've decided to go ahead because (1) Yelp is what brought me to this place initially, (2) I've just learned of someone else that saw him at this location who had an experience similar to mine, and (3) because I've found another Chiropractic firm just down the street where I've had a much better experience both interpersonally and in terms of patient outcomes. As I mentioned, I saw Matt Fontaine. He seemed disconnected and annoyed to be there, and completely disinterested in patient care. He was oblivious or indifferent to the fact that I was in pain. I saw him several times, and each time it was like I was meeting him for the first time and needed to explain what was wrong all over again. Even though it had only been a few days since my earlier visit, and all the needed information was clearly reflected in the chart. Very disappointing. This guy is a legend in his own mind, but a serious disappointment in reality. To add to my disappointment, I paid out-of-pocket because he was out of network. I don't need to like my Chiropractor, just feel like he's semi-competent. I decided to stick with him a few times; I was in so much pain. Ultimately I spent nearly a thousand dollars and walked away in the same shape I walked in. Two weeks later, I went to a different Chiropractor locally and immediately had a different experience. The Chiropractors (I saw two different ones) were personable, and clearly interested in getting to the source of the problem. I received a different diagnosis, and within five days of treatment, was 90% back to normal. Interestingly, from the Yelp reviews, it appears Fontaine worked at my current Chiropractor's office for a very short while (and received dismal reviews). The fact that he no longer works there is frankly what drew me to the new practice. Maybe Dr. Schreffler himself is a better bet, I don't know. What I do know is do not book with Matt Fontaine. read more

Dr Shreffler is a wonderful chiro - very knowledgeable - and Dawn is an awesome massage therapist - strong while sensitive. Both highly recommended. read more

Dr. Schreffler healed my gnarly muscle knot in three visits, using his know-how, physical strength and optional dry needling to work it out. He gave me detailed instructions for stretching and strengthening the muscle going forward. I expect that professional athletes have access to his level of expertise, yet he offers his services to the general public. read more

Dr. Schreffler has been treating my neck and back for almost three years, including through the worst of pandemic stress, and he has remarkable skill in unknotting whatever muscle strain I've managed to generate through my demanding but sedentary job. More often that not, he's able to diagnose the problem of the day before I've even had time to describe it. He's also terrific at explaining what's going on and why and in providing workable advice and suggestions. His treatment has successfully addressed the pain I was experiencing before I came to see him. More recently, I've also been working with a personal trainer at ArCTIC, and it's been a huge help in getting moving after pandemic lockdown (and years of that sedentary job). Ryan, my trainer, is knowledgeable, supportive, and good company while working out. With me, he focuses on functional movement and proper form, and he's created a training plan that has me feeling better while steering clear of injury. It's been a great experience! read more

As an older athlete, I sometimes get painful back spasms. When I moved to the area more eight years ago, a new colleague recommended Dr. Schreffler and I am so grateful for all the times he has helped me get back to being active. He is a great diagnostician and figures out very quickly how many treatments are necessary - rarely more than one or two. I appreciate that he does some PT and streteching, then electro-stim and heat (which loosens up the muscles) before he makes his adjustments. His positive and caring demeanor is reassuring and helpful when I am in pain or discomfort. More recently, at Dr. Schreffler' suggestion, I began working with Kelly on exercises to strengthen my core and stabilize my shoulder after rotator cuff surgery. I can already tell the difference. Thanks. read more

This review is for Amanda Long and Keith Schreffler. Both are trusted and essential members of my wellness team for managing my chronic lower back and hip pain and post-thrombotic syndrome. I am not an athlete (nor do I have ambitions of becoming one!) and their care is an excellent fit for my needs. Amanda is my massage therapist for the past two years and she embodies patient-centered care. She is a compassionate listener and a knowledgeable masseuse who is constantly pushing herself to learn and grow for the benefit of her clients. Amanda works with me to understand how I use my body and uses that knowledge to inform her treatment. I feel seen as a person, in less pain, and in better spirits after working with Amanda. Amanda introduced me to Keith Schreffler nearly a year ago for treating my hip pain, and it is to the benefit of patients that they are working together. He, too, practices what he preaches about patient-centered care. I really appreciate his holistic approach to treating my pain and his patient, steady, and reassuring manner. He's not a "crack and crunch", one size fits all type of chiropractor; his treatment for me focuses on mobilizing and strengthening. I especially appreciate that he listens to my treatment goals and keeps those at the forefront of my treatment plan. In terms of the logistics of working with them, they are both punctual, have easy scheduling tools that send ample reminders, and their office is easy to get to via metro. read more

I was fortunate enough to join this integrative wellness center as its first massage therapist in 2018 (full disclosure) but have been referring clients to Dr. Schreffler and Dr. Kelly for more than a decade. Before becoming a massage therapist in 2011, I spent hours in front of a computer and my body suffered from being an on-deadline, desk-bound editor with her fair share of running and biking injuries --including a broken femur that messed with my gait and hip function. Both doctors listened with their hands and heads. Their treatment and their caring, educational and downright friendly personalities just can't be matched. read more

Amanda Long is an educated, thoughtful, an intuitive massage therapist. I've been seeing her for years for my herniated disc pain, and no other massage therapists compare. The location and staff are lovely and parking is free under the building. read more

Being a Crossfitter, I find myself in need of a chiropractor from time to time - actually a little more often that I would like. After recently moving to the area, I found Dr. Schreffler and I have to say, I'm impressed. Dr. Schreffler not only does adjustments, but also works your muscles holistically. I came to him with a weird shoulder pain that I had developed and I left feeling a million times better. His "bed side" manner is great. Conversational, but not to the point of being annoying - and he's always open to answering my question (e.g. "why does your back make a cracking sound when you adjust it?"). The office is very clean - on the newer side, and the best part is that they offer free parking in the building lot. Saving you the couple dollar charge of having to pay at the Courthouse. (Be warned that the lot is often full around 5 p.m. though) read more

Word on the street is this place is great.. and now that top trainer Pamela Lessard has joined, it should really take off. She crushes it but makes things fun just in time for bathing suit season! Arctic is conveniently located right in the heart of Courthouse. read more

For years I have gone to National Pain & Spine Centers on a monthly basis for lower back injections due to severe pain and other chiropractors and would get temporary relief. 3 visits with Dr. Schreffler and I have no more pain. OMG I am so happy and can't believe it. I am even able to get off the sofa and stand up straight which I had a hard time doing as well. I highly recommend Dr. Schreffler! read more

ArCTIC (affiliated with Schreffler Chiropractic) was terrific. I was looking to learn kettlebell from a certified StrongFirst instructor, injury proof my body, increase mobility and explosiveness; and was lucky to find Dr. Matt Kelly. Did an 8-session package and was very pleased. Until I met Dr. Kelly, I've never paid for training before and have always been skeptical of trainers. I felt at ease based on his education, sports/exercise experience, and initial conversations. He put a lot of planning into each session, watched my form with a close eye, and provided several workouts and vital stretches that I've incorporated into my weekly exercise regimen. Since then I've learned kettlebell and more, and reached my goals. read more

The Virtual Balanced Body class taught by Wendy Christensen has been a life-saver during the pandemic. While we thoroughly enjoyed the in-person experience, Wendy presents a warm personal Zoom experience that has helped us improve our fitness, yoga skills and keep our spirits up! She's a gem! I highly recommend this class the ArCTIC practice. (We've used in past for PT, injury recovery and for massage.) read more

I've been seeing Dr Keith Schreffler for several years and have always had a consistently positive experience. He is an expert in the human body and doesn't hesitate to send you to an orthopedic should it be a questionable injury or condition. An example of this was when I went to Dr Schreffler complaining of numbness, throbbing and general stiffness in my right shoulder and neck. I mentioned that I had been on travel and working out at the hotel gym and likely "tweaked" something. After a few simple movement tests, he said "you need to see an orthopedic." I learned I had a full tear of one of the rotator cuff tendons and would require surgery. Post surgery and a year of physical therapy I've continued to have Dr Schreffler help me regain more mobility as it is difficult to stretch and properly break up the scar tissues on my own. Dr Schreffler is a runner and athlete himself. Many of his patients are athletes as well. He truly is generous with his time (never rushing) and truly listens to his patients. I would not trust my back, neck or joints in the hands of another chiropractor (as long as I'm in the area, I will see Dr Schreffler). read more

Dr. Keith is by far one of the most compassionate and highly skilled chiropractors I have ever met. He's not one of those "rack 'em and crack 'em" guys. You get a thorough assessment and a whole lot of genuine concern. He explains everything in a clear way and helps you with a realistic plan to meet your goals. Dr. Keith takes a holistic approach to your well being. It's an incredible relief to be under his care. read more

Dr. Schreffler and his team are highly skilled and unfailingly professional. A great and unique wellness center with an attentive, professional and friendly staff plus top notch facilities. I've been a patient/user for many years (practically since their beginning) and I have seen them evolve in terms of both services and facilities. While these elements have been consistently improved in line with a long-standing, innovative and distinctive vision focused on modern and thoughtful integrative health practices, I am even more pleased that the organization and personnel have maintained (and positively evolved) their history and reputation for genuine, personal and empathetic care and concern for specific and overall well being. Truly a wellness provider that deserves to be a model for the healthcare and fitness industry. read more

Dr. Schreffler is a great doctor. He has helped my back heal from a car collision in just a few months. I would definitely recommend needle treatment, if you are not afraid of needles, as it relieved muscle tension and promotes muscle tissue healing. read more

Can't say enough good things about ArCTIC Wellness. Dr. Schreffler worked with me to get over pain that had been bothering me for months and limiting my physical activity. He spent lots of time each session, really listening to me and figuring out what was needed to get me healthy again. That included chiropractic adjustment, working on my soft tissue, dry needling, and adding new exercises to strengthen different parts of my body. I worked with personal trainer Jamie, who was great and introduced me to TRX. I now am doing TRX classes at ArCTIC with Maren and this is a great addition to my workout routine. The approach here is on total body health and wellness - and it works. The staff are all extremely professional and welcoming. read more

A patient for 10 years, I was a skeptic when I first came to Dr. Schreffler. One too many "crack em and pack em on the schedule" type chiro offices had left me unimpressed and my hips unattended to. That all changed with Dr. Schreffler. He treats you holistically, taking in the complicated dance of the spine, muscles, joints, nerves and each patient's own rhythm. Although every treatment feels highly specific, (as in "oh, right there is where I'm feeling stuck!" Dr. Schreffler also address patterns of pain and dysfunction to get at the overall cause and help you move better through the world. I love how his entire practice has grown. Everyone is hungry for new ways of looking at and attending to pain from Active Release Therapy to Functional Movement Assessment. I've benefited from his curiosity and growing tool set. Oh, and he's just a super nice guy with a incredibly convenient location. Full disclosure: Four years ago I left the corporate world to become a massage therapist and Dr. Schreffler's advice and feedback have helped immensely. I sent clients to him when their needs match his approach and expertise. read more

I have spent close to 2 years with a chronic, debilitating hip/groin pain. Working in healthcare I thought surely I would find the perfect person to assist me with 'fixing' this issue. After several doctor appointments, physical therapy and various prescriptions, I was given Dr. Schreffler's information from a Physician (which was a nice surprise) along with one of his patients. I had just about given us when I decided to give him a try. I truly can't say enough positive things and...after 6 weeks...I FINALLY FEEL FREE OF PAIN! Rarely do you find someone who TRULY listens and Dr. Schreffler is that rare breed. Not only does he listen, his understanding of anatomy and possible solutions is incredible. You are NEVER rushed, he is excellent describing what he feels is going on and how he can assist. Not to mention his office has great parking and a wonderful front desk staff (which makes a big difference!) I am a believer....and this is after trying another local chiropractor who couldn't figure out a thing and charged so much more and didn't take my insurance plan. I had no idea how wonderful it was to be without pain. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Keith Schreffler for well over a decade and I cannot say enough about his expertise as a doctor of chiropractic. Dr. Schreffler does not just work on body, but body, mind, and spirit. He is a phenomenal physician who cares holistically for his patients in ways that bring about total and complete healing. And now as his practice more intentionally emphasizes that holistic approach by including coaching, training, and injury resolution (ARCTIC), his dream to help all people to the utmost has come to life. Until I injured my shoulder 12 years ago, I had never been to a Chiropractor and I was stunned by the incredible healing that Dr. Schreffler brought to my life. His intuitive touch finds just the right manner to care for people no matter their concern. I commend him and his practice to all who are in need of healing. You will not be disappointed. I thank God for Keith Schreffler. He is a wonderful man and a fine doctor. read more

My treatments for upper back and neck pain here were fine until Dr. Schreffler's associate (now former) treated my rotator cuff/shoulder extremely aggressively one time. I had a lot of pain and Dr. Schreffler gave me Therabands and a few exercises. I have had pain for years since since exercises were not enough. It turns out I got a rotator cuff injury! I've been doing months of PT and I'm still not done. This experience swore me off chiropractic treatments for life. read more

Dr. Mathew Kelly saved me when I was there for work and a rib went out. I was in so much pain and could barely move or breathe, and he immediately fixed the issue after one session. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the body and showed me some stretches that would help with the rib issue and other issues I had chronically. I went back to make sure that the adjustment held and have him help me with my chronic issues. He was very personable, professional, and nice. He's also really handsome but that's besides the point. :-) read more

Dr. Schreffler is a miracle worker! I go every other week due to a broken back sustained in a motorcycle accident years ago. I always feel great after our sessions. Plus, he is the nicest guy! read more
