Azure products are phenomenal, so I can't fault them for carrying them, especially since, from what I could tell, they were items like whole grains for milling at home and that's just not really an option to find locally sourced in Alaska. There appeared to be several other fruits & vegetables that were not from their farm, but I'm still a HUGE fan and will continue to not only shop there but also recommend them every chance I get!

They have a beautiful 12 yr old clematis right inside the door (not for sale but so pretty when it blooms) as well as a great selection of bedding plants, perennials, herbs, & veggies. They also do pre-order hanging baskets that are amazing - but I've heard they have a waiting list and pretty much someone has to "will you" their spot on the list - they're that popular. This year they have the citronella geraniums that are great for keeping the mosquitos away. Their prices are in line with all of the other nurseries and greenhouses around the Valley. And if you compare the price and quality with Fred's or Walmart, the local greenhouses have such better plants. They're not out too early in the elements, over sunned, or lacking water & care. The plants I've gotten here the last several years have been great.

Really disappointing experience using a Groupon here. I have been buying plants here for years…read more(probably at least 5) but I'm done now. I won't be back. The Groupon they put out seemed like it would be a good deal. It said right on the certificate it wasn't good for sale items. Not usually a problem. Like I said, I've been shopping here for years, and I know they don't usually have anything at all on "sale" until the end of June. Well not this year. She decided to make most everything (ok, not veggies or trees, and not the $12-15 plants) "on sale" the day they opened. Another employee even confirmed that. Not to mention she jacked the prices at least $2 on everything, and then marked them down. I had also purchased another Groupon for my mom as part of her mother's day gift, so between us we had 2 Groupons to use. Nearly impossible. If I had been able to return the Groupon and gotten my money back I would have. Not only was it hard to find something to buy that wasn't on sale, she wouldn't honor the groupon at the pop-up tent shop she has in Palmer because, and I quote "we have to go online to redeem those Groupons and someone could print one and use it in Palmer and then come here and use it again and we wouldn't know." The owner's explanation of the sale prices to me was "we don't make enough money on the plants that are marked on sale if we honored those with the groupon." Well guess what? That money you got from Groupon was the last money you will ever get from me. I'm done. I hope the Groupon brought her lots of new customers because I'm sure I'm not the only dissatisfied (now former) customer.

My favorite was the tiny plants in the painted pots, tiny like the size of a quarter. Very cute! The staff was so friendly and the store was full of amazing plants. I wish I lived near this place so I could get a few plants for my house. On top of cool plants, they offer drinks. Coffee and infused drinks like Lavender London Fog. Space, staff, prices, and selection all seemed top notch! Highly recommend!

At nearly $600 for two people, this farm dinner did not deliver a culinary or service experience…read morecommensurate with its premium price. There were genuine positives: the family and staff were warm, the musicians delightful, the tables beautifully styled, and the chef industrious and jovial. Nevertheless, the appetizers were sparse, the wine selection modest, and there was no table water or coffee service. No one asked whether we needed anything, and the meal was essentially buffet-style and self-service. As a Louisiana-raised woman who knows her way around fried chicken, I found the principal offering decidedly underwhelming. The event had not sold out when my fiancé and I were contacted at the last minute. We accepted and paid full price. Her subsequent correspondence nevertheless conveyed the peculiar impression that our attendance had somehow been a favor extended to us. We were paying customers--not complimentary guests--and I found that attitude difficult to comprehend. Even so, the disappointing dinner alone would not have prompted this review. Afterward, having already contributed many hours of professional photography that the farm used in its marketing, I proposed an entirely philanthropic collaboration. I offered, without compensation, my photography, editing, curating, exhibition design, installation, time, resources, and labor to create temporary displays of large-format floral art within the farm's existing dinner-event space. The artwork could be sold or auctioned, with proceeds above production costs benefiting charitable causes that we would select together in advance. I expected either interest or a gracious "No, thank you." Instead, the owner responded, "how presumptuous of you," and said the proposal added to her "already overflowing plate"--despite my explicit offer to undertake the work myself. She was unquestionably entitled to decline. What disheartened me was the unnecessarily castigating and demeaning manner in which a sincere offer of generosity was received. Her response struck me as profoundly ungracious, disproportionate to the facts of my original email, and dismissive of the considerable time, professional effort, and resources I had offered in good faith. Philanthropy creates no obligation, but an offer of service should not invite rebuke. I left disappointed by the dinner. I was considerably more disheartened by the treatment I received afterward as a former full-paying customer. Unless and until there is a genuine understanding about respectful treatment, I will neither do business with nor otherwise support this farm.
