I can't believe it has taken me this long to add my review of this place! It is another one of Ardmore's hidden gems, for sure. Tucked away discreetly on the second floor of the building across the street, you might walk right by as you exit the train in Ardmore and go about your merry business. You will not regret making a stop here instead. The food is absolutely to die for. I will sing eternal praise of the Oreo Pancakes and the French Toast Sampler. If you're in for lunch, the Chicken Caesar Wrap is dripping with savory goodness. On top of that, the staff is the friendliest bunch of people I've ever met. They are happy to chat and are always laughing! I've learned to avoid coming here for peak brunch hours, especially on the weekend. There is not much seating and it can get very crowded, but I promise it's worth a trip any time of the day. WARNING: WILL DESTROY YOUR DIET. But don't you want to die happy? read more

I am not a big fan of this place for two reasons: lack of parking and having to wait in line to be seated on the weekends. If you have the patience, then definitely try this place because once you find a spot for parking and are seated at your table, the food is out of this world. It is mainly busy on the weekends around the breakfast hour. Breakfast is really , really, really good so much so that I have never even tried anything from the lunch menu. My personal favorite is the stuffed banana French toast...mmmmm good!!! It is a relatively small cafe so it is a little tight when you are with a big party. One of the BIG perks of living nearby was being able to stop in at Ardmore Station Cafe. Fabulous breakfasts at this tiny little restaurant at ridiculously low prices. They serve La Colombe coffee, have a variety of teas, and an abundance of french toast options. You can even get a french toast 'sampler' which is one slice of three different french toast flavors, and many an indecisive companion has resorted to this option to satisfy their cravings. While all the more decadent options are amazing and deserve high praise, my favorite is still the spinach, egg, and cheese (bacon for those who like it), on a bagel. This was probably the worst breakfast dining experience i have ever had. Was very excited about all of the different flavors of french toast pancakes, ordered red velvet pancakes and nutella berry french toast. Nutella berry toast was ok but nothing special and the red velvet pancakes were TERRIBLE, I took one bite and left the rest. My omelette was bland and the potatoes have no seasoning or oil or anything on them. The worst part was not once did any staff ask how things were. Our waitress Juanita seemed bored and uninterested, and never checked in on us. Dont go here! Youll just pay too much for bland, unseasoned food and bad service. read more

We went for the 1st time today and have already said we'd be back. There was a wait (about 20min) when we arrived, but it was worth it. Everyone was friendly and the service was good. I will say that the "waiting" area is definitely on the small side. I got the avocado Benedict and a side of fresh berries. While the berries didn't come out w the rest of our food, our waitress brought them over without me saying anything to her. My friend got the French toast sampler (strawberry stuffed, cinnamon toast crunch, peanut butter/banana/Nutella stuffed) and a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich; yes, he was starving. He said that everything was good! The only complaint I have about the food is that the breakfast potatoes were a little on the bland side, but nothing that salt and pepper couldn't fix. Let me preface this review with saying that the food was okay. For a brunch spot, the menu was pretty uninspired. Sure the pancakes were varied, but what about the egg dishes? Regardless, the food was okay and fairly inexpensive. This review is not about the cook, who appeared to be the only adult in the building that worked there. When we first walked in, we stood in a corner by the door waiting for a couple of minutes before we were greeted by a 14 year old girl dressed like she was in a low budget 80s workout video - cut off sweater and way too short shorts for work. She took our name, didn't tell us a wait time (despite 4 very open tables) and walked away for 10 minutes. Finally she came back and we were seated. The waitress, equally as young and apathetic, took our order. We then watched as three other groups were seated and placed their orders with another waitress. After about 7 minutes their food was out but we still sat there hungry. Our food came a few minutes later. Meanwhile, more people flowed into the restaurant, leaving a line of small children and their tired parents watching my girlfriend and I make small talk and try and ignore the awkward audience we've gained. Our food came out. Like I said, it was okay. Nothing special, but it was food and cooked well. But have you ever ate something while people stood over you less than a foot away watching you? No thanks. What made no sense is that this line should not have been. There were about 5-6 tables open, half that needed cleaned. But the busboy lazily and slowly cleared tables and the hostess just didn't want to sit people or do anything. My coffee cup ran empty and we waited for the waitress to come and ask if we wanted more. Of course. She said she'll be right back with it. But then she say there, by the coffee pot that was 5 feet away from us and clearly full, checking her phone and not doing anything. It wasn't until my girlfriend had to actually wave her down that we got our coffee... And the check at the same time. We originally wanted Sabrina's but the wait looked long. Next time we'll take the wait and get better service. 1* for food, 0 for service and 0 for atmosphere. read more

Great convenient spot for a weekend brunch. Located across the street from SEPTA's Ardmore stop, this place is kind of easy to miss as, from the outside, it appears to blend in with the peace of pizza directly below it. Awkward concealment aside, it's your typical brunch place. Quick, pleasant service, laid-back atmosphere and some freaking delicious french toast. To echo the aforementioned reviews: french toast sampler (pumpkin, s'mores, chocolate peanut butter). Delectable. The chairs were pretty uncomfortable. The OJ was good (I was offered with or without pulp - bonus!). I ordered the french toast sampler after reading the reviews. Smores, stuffed blueberry, and crunchy french toast. I certainly wouldn't get the smores again. It was just two pieces of thin french toast with a few (dark?) chocolate chips thrown in - no marshmallow or anything. The blueberry was decent. And the crunchy was meh. Ardmore Station Cafe is, unfortunately, one of the only "brunch" spots in the area. It is a main line staple. You will almost always have a wait, be seated near kids or loud of families and service is a bit scattered. The food is always good though and despite the crowds always comes out fairly quick. The chairs are uncomfortable and the ambiance is subpar, but if you're lucky enough to get a spot against the window you will get a view of the Ardmore Train Station which I love! TASTY COFFEE TOO! I'm a big fan of French toast, so I decided to try this place for breakfast on my birthday based on some reviews. I couldn't decide between the great options (nutella + strawberry, plain with real maple syrup, pumpkin spice, etc) and the waitress let me order a French toast sampler of one piece of each, even though they typically only do it on the weekends. All three were super delicious, and it's hard to pick a fave so I'm glad I got to try the sampler. Service was (obviously) pretty great, coffee was good, prices were reasonable. This is such a cozy cafe! i have been here for brunch a couple of times with close friends and it's like a found my own 'Luke's'. I would recommend this brunch spot for groups of up to 4 since the place can get pretty packed and the tables are pretty small. Even when it is, the service is pretty speedy and on a college budget, the value is great. I have always been happy with breakfast here - omelets are a thumbs up and the pancakes and french toast my friends get always get rave reviews. There may be a waiting line b/c the other breakfast place my friend/hostess recommended is IHOP (Int'l House of Pancakes) and this cafe is dinky. Pros: locally owned, situated a short flight of stairs above the sidewalk, and popular with local middle-aged, middle class men who apparently had Friday AM off from work. The orange juice was freshly squeezed, not tart like CA o-j can taste. The turkey bacon was very lean and tasty. The best part was having an opportunity to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in years. Meh: Service was okay since the place wasn't crowded. I suppose it was reminescent of a hospital cafeteria/canteen. Lots of tile, and not cozy for a small town diner. Chairs were decently confortable and clean. Our waitress wasn't cranky, but she wasn't particularly cheerful. (Another reason why my trip to Philly reminded me of London.) I promise you will not be WOW'd by the food. People raved about the coconut pancakes, which sounded unique so I ordered them. For the record, toasted coconut flakes are stirred into the batter... they're sprinkled over the pancakes -- which I can do at home. Thanks, but no thanks. My selective amnesia may be protecting me from trauma, but the syrup may have been prepackaged in sterile, individual serving size containers. read more

I felt like a bad little kid eating it. mmmm. the wife liked her boring healthy omelette. I was sad that they didn't have creamed chipped beef, that's my fav. The place was cranking out some nice looking meals on the Saturday morning we were there including huge plates of pancakes which will be my next choice. they were enormous with a variety of cool flavors/toppings. This place is delicious and inexpensive. The avocado eggs Benedict is my go to. If you're feeling sweet I recommend doing the triple combo of the French toast. You can pick any three. I can't say enough good things about the Ardmore Station Cafe. I work in Philadelphia and ride the train from Ardmore every day, so I stop in for a hot breakfast a few days a week, and I'm never disappointed. While the pancakes are the best you can find on the Main Line, the ham, egg, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel is my go to at the cafe. Something about the way the ham is grilled makes it tastier than the ham in any other ham, egg, and cheese sandwich (my favorite breakfast sandwich). The bagel is always fresh and delicious (one of the best I've had outside of New York, and the potatoes that come on the side are usually crispy and hot. The wait staff is always cheery, friendly, and polite, the food comes out quickly, and the food is extremely reasonably priced. Oh, and the candy bowl is the most extravagant one that I've ever seen. read more

We went for Saturday brunch, and after reading all of the rave reviews I was really looking forward to it. It was ok. I've definitely had far better. The food was alright, the coffee was pretty good. Perhaps it was my fault for not ordering one of their specials or their more exotic menu items (I.e. crab Benedict). I ordered a breakfast burrito (i love them!), and was disappointed when a cold tortilla filled with a rather unappetizing omelet. Everywhere else they throw the tortilla in the oven or toaster to crisp it up a little. Even Wawa does that! Not to mention they give you a thimble full of salsa, and don't bother asking for more, you won't get it. The service was the real drawback here. It took forever to get coffee (the apparently only have 1 coffee pot) and forever to get food. Overall, it's a "meh," but we'll give it another shot. Maybe it was just an off day. read more

An absolutely great breakfast was had by the family. We all ordered something different and the only complaint was from the child that chose french toast instead of pancakes. She got sucked in to the sampler option since she couldn't decide on just one of their delicious sounding options. My husband usually gets the cinnamon roll pancakes at that 4 letter word chain pancake place, and they're layered with cream and decorated beautifully, but, they're probably a gaziillion calories and fat grams and a heart attack on a plate. Here, at Ardmore Station Cafe, his cinnamon pancakes did't look like anything special. They really just looked like pancakes. Not even a dollop of whipped cream. But let me tell you, they were absolutely one of the most delicious things on the table. The flavor that was in each bite was unbelievable, especially coming from something that didn't look all that special. I'd have them again, in a heart beat. We tried breakfast at the Ardmore Station Cafe. The dining room is very airy, with windows and skylights providing natural lighting- a nice setting for breakfast. The food was pretty good: we tried a variety of things and while nothing stood out as fantastic, nothing was below par, either. Service was a bit choppy, given the very small number of customers during our visit, but our server was friendly and the food did come out in a reasonable amount of time. My usual brunch place when I think that Nudy's is going to packed. Its not amazing but its not horrible. The food is decent and I normally try one of their special french toasts- nutella strawberry being my favorite. However, service is poor and super slow. It always takes forever to get our water and food takes quite awhile when its busy. Overall, its a decent place and there are not that many brunch places in the area so this is definitely one of my go-to spots. The Veggie omelette with avacado sounded good on menu, but not in real. It was kinda dry and bland. Their wraps are also A-OK. They have good selection of tea though. You might have to wait in long queues, during a Saturday or Sunday morning. The service is pretty decent. We keep visiting the place, because this place is pretty close. If there is a better breakfast place, we would go for it. read more
